12/04/2010 Eastern MAGIC - CHIP 'N' DALE'S CRUISIN' NUTS

:welcome: Please welcome classicdisney who is now on our cruiser list. Sorry I was unable to include names or number of cruisers, but that info was not submitted.

About 24 days and I'll be able to complete my check in and to reserve port adventures, spa, palo (didn't do that my first cruise).

September 5th cannot get here soon enough!

I want to do at least palo dinner and brunch. Hopefully I can get a time near other munks, if only because Donald Duck can't get away from them!

Frank, I'm hoping that perhaps one or two other Cruisin' Nuts might be permitted (by Palo) to join me for one or more of my Palo ressies. Since I am solo and the smallest table they have is for two, it would make sense.

I sent a PM and an email to iowaswete asking if she might like to try to join me, because I know she is a solo adult traveling with her young DD. I don't think there would be any problem adding one to a table for two. But it's been a week and I have not yet received a reply. My PM shows as unread so far.

If she isn't interested, I'm thinking IF by any chance they'd allow me to add two - - cyndixo & adult DD are two doors down from me and Cyndi mentioned getting together so I am wondering if they might be interested. Also thinking of you & your mom of course. Basically, anyone or two who are not a married or romantic couple, as I don't want to feel like a third wheel at Palo. :rotfl2:

So right now I'm still waiting to hear from iowaswete. I'm thinking if anyone does want to join me, the only way to do it would be to either do the "wait in line" ressie/changes after boarding, OR later go directly to Palo and ask. ;)

we were able to add another couple to our reservation for Palo when we went. it went from 2 diners to 4. that was our best dinner at Palo... they bring more food to try when there are more dinners. :)

Val - Did you add them after you were aboard? If so, did you do it at the regular reservation additions/changes session upon boarding, or later at the desk inside Palo?

We actually added them a few days into the cruise. ( We really liked the cabin next to ours.... kids were the same age etc etc) and the parents never booked Palo.. We went to Palo and asked if they could be added. Palo said give us some time. and they were added that night. St Maarten nite. it was very easy to do. :)

I think it would be a lot of fun to go to Palo with a big group. :) Our waiter at Palo that night brought so much extra food and desserts etc without telling us and it was a truly fun evening!

Thanks, Val. I'm hoping that I will know by time of boarding if anyone wants to join me. Then I figured I'd stop by the desk inside Palo early the first evening to make any changes - or maybe call instead. Since I have Monday tea, Tuesday dinner & Thursday brunch at least it wouldn't be a first night rush. Plus I can avoid the lines at the res/change session. I mean . . That's the purpose of staying up late to book online in advance, after all - lol. :surfweb:

As I mentioned several pages back, at first I considered skipping Palo this time since I'm solo. But I got to thinking how much I missed out in January when I sailed with my DM. We did tea, brunch & dinner, but she is diabetic and could eat very little as their food is very rich. She loved the salmon at dinner, but at brunch she didn't even do the buffet part - just ordered something simple. Since she couldn't really indulge in a lot of items and desserts, etc., I didn't want to make her feel deprived by doing so in front of her. So I deprived myself! That is why I decided to go ahead and book again this time, so I can enjoy much of what I skipped in January.

We skipped brunch on our last cruise and did dinner instead. I had a migraine that day so I wasnt 100% at dinner. Our dinner that night was honestly not the best. ( My filet came out warm.) it was instantly remade. so our night was the best... but we still enjoyed Palo. ( and the waiter wrapped up our pizza for the kids and got Gabby/Jr a souffle!) :thumbsup2

so keeping my fingers crossed we can get a brunch and dinner.... Shari if we dont get brunch.... I am joining you!! ;)

Shari, I don't think my Mom would have any objections to joining you.

If you don't get anyone else, count us in!

Cool. If I don't get a positive response from iowaswete soon, I'll let you know. Are you interested in all three (tea, brunch, dinner) or what? Val said if she can't get a res she'll join me for brunch, but I don't know if she's serious - lol. If so, she has first dibs on that. I'm only trying to wait for an answer from iowaswete because she's the only other Cruisin' Nut without an adult companion. ;)

At least Brunch and Dinner -- not so sure about tea.
Didn't think you wanted to do the tea. :lmao:

Anyway - Go ahead and still try to get your own ressies first just in case (even same time as mine if you like and are able), but if you can't secure the spots and iowaswete does not want to join me, then I can either try to add you and your mom for brunch & dinner OR just dinner if Val does not get her brunch res and still wants to join me (since she responded first). ;)

I'm looking forward to meeting everyone! :goodvibes

I am totally serious about joining you at brunch! :)

I have not done the high tea yet. (it is always booked solid when we go to sign up).

Shari,

I've updated my calendar to remind me about the ressies when I can make them and what times you selected. I'm just hoping we don't miss one of the shows for Palo dinner. It is my Mom's first and if Twice Charmed is going to be on that night, I want to see that too.

I don't remember the recent typical schedule for the shows, so if you know -- cool.

My Mom had just commented on how excited she's starting to get for the cruise, especially since we have family that are going to be joining us for WDW after.

WE are now going to stay at WDW again. Originally had it linked to the cruise. DH lost his job, so we cancelled. Wanted to do the cruise. WE booked over a year ago. Well by cancelling and rebooking it by itself, we get to pay later as oppossed to paying when cruise is due. Plus, we dont lose out on the money we spent in buying our christmas party tickets. Getting excited, less than 4 months. Just wish SW would drop prices so we can get tickets.

Sounds good! If I don't hear back from iowaswete in the next couple of weeks (or see that she has logged in and still hasn't replied), I'll take it that she is not interested.

I thought the High Tea (all that goes with it) was excellent in January. Previously I had not been impressed. There is only a $5 service charge for that one, so it's not much of a risk to give it a try. :upsidedow

Always subject to change, but Tuesday (my Palo dinner night) is Pirate night and is movie night in the Walt Disney Theatre. Twice Charmed should be on Monday night, but nothing is definite until they print those Navigators . . and sometimes not even then! :cool2:
