12/04/2010 Eastern MAGIC - CHIP 'N' DALE'S CRUISIN' NUTS

Cut-off date has not changed. The info is on the FUN page of our website. We hope our fellow Cruisin Nuts will occasionally check that page plus the MEETS page and the NEWS page of our site. Those pages are where updates are made.

For anyone who wants to "chip" in their ideas for our activities, please do so! This is OUR cruise, for ALL of us! If you have ideas or want to be "chief chipmunk" for any activities, please chime in!

So far we have Magic3forme (Val) heading the FE, and I believe the 'Munks Fitness Walk was dwtraveler's idea. So for those willing, there are still plenty of spots open for volunteers to help with all our various meets and activities.

Sorry about that - I totally missed it! Thanks so much for the info! Can't wait!

Mac is hoping to get the kids together at some point for a sing along to the Munk Song. I'm sure she would be happy to lead.

She loves that song I just have to figure out how to get it onto her ipod for her. So far it's just accessible on the website. I've searched Amazon for the CD but no luck so far.

I'm sure he'd love it! Any of you here who make a final decision to bring their Pal, please let me know. I wouldn't want mine to miss out on the fun. He was disappointed when I left him home this January. And if I do take mine, I'll have to tell my 'munks they can bring their own bag but will need to make some space for a mouse and a few of his outfits! :rotfl2:

Not sure if I should bring him, he will be quite unhappy that he does not have cruise clothes. When he sees the other well-dressed Mickey's he will jealous (and maybe a little angry at me). Have to give this some thought. ;) I really don't want to hurt his feelings.

For the song, I also just went to Amazon.com to find it. Searched for Disney music/splashdance and was able to find the song you can by for .99. Easy to do it that way, too.

I found the song at amazon and posted it here. Originally, I just downloaded the song from here and imported it to Itunes to get it on my Ipod.

Judy - Although I have all the "official" Pal Mickey costumes, the only one I felt was great for the cruise was the pirate outfit. Aside from that, most of my Pal's cruise clothes were from various inexpensive rag dolls or plush. Let's just say I have a lot of naked stuffed bears at my house! You can get cheap sandals or shoes for him by shopping the baby shoe section of Walmart or Target. Size zero usually fits best, but for certain shoes a size 1, no larger. With the Size 0 you have to really work to stuff his plush feet in, but they stay on better.

The problem if I bring my Pal this time is that I planned on using a couple of his costumes for my 'munks. So I guess I really don't have to bring my Pal, even if others here do. Mine would survive here at home okay in my absence. ;)

I don't have any additional clothes for mine as my sister gave it to me after she got a new one. After seeing the above posts, I am going to bring him. I will just need to be reminded so I don't forget him.

Overlooked this post somehow. Sorry. That would be WONDERFUL if Mac wants to lead a sing-along! :thumbsup2

I just emailed you the mp3. It is about 2.5 MB in size. For anyone else here, you should be able to get directly to the mp3 HERE on our site.

I just saw on the Dis Blog that the Main Street Electrical Parade has been extended, but no end date given. I sure hope that I can see it when I'm there -- haven't seen it live since I first went to WDW in High School.

I SO want to get the soundtrack to it!

I re-looked at what excursions I was dreaming of months ago this morning. :goodvibes Anyone else interested in the Rain Forest trek on St. Martin? Sounds like one my whole family would enjoy.

Hi all:flower3:
I've been booked for this cruise since January and just signed up on the cruisin nutz list. It will be me (Linda 44) Erik 43, dd's Melissa 23, gianna 11, kayla 10. It will be melissa's first dcl and the rest of ours 3rd. I signed the younger girls up in hopes that they can chat and get to know other kids prior to sailing.
I'm flying in the night prior to DC I will be staying at a disney hotel being I purchased the transfers. I REALLYY wanted to go to MVMCP friday night since it will be melissa's first vacation w/ us (we been to mvmcp before loved it) but i dont know if it would be worth it. my flight comes in at 6 p.m. figure getting to hotel, dropping bags, taking tram to the park...may be too late. what do you think? :confused3 Missing this will disappoint me :sad1:
Well I just wanted to introduce myself :hippie: I'll be reading and posting and hopefully have my girls chit chat w/ some of the other lil chipmunks :grouphug:

:welcome: Welcome, MakinMemories4MyKids! I've been out today but just got home and added you to our Cruisin' Nuts Cruisers list. Your name on the Cruisin' Nuts Kids list links to your DIS profile, so other parents/kids may contact your kids through you there.

Thanks for submitting the forms for our website. Could you submit our Cruisin' Nuts Birthdays sign-up form so we can add your DH to our Birthday Nuts list?

We look forward to sailing with you!

Shari

If your flight is on time and there are no delays, it should be do-able, but you'd probably lose at least an hour or more of MVMCP. It runs from 7 to midnight, although they let people in early. Even if you are late, I'm sure you could still view some of the shows, the late parade (less crowded anyway) and fireworks and get your cookies and cocoa. You won't be able to fit everything in if you're late, but you'd probably be there long enough to enjoy the MVMCP holiday spirit! :santa:

What I would think about is spending THAT much money (even AP tickets for it are expensive) without being able to spend the maximum time to experience the party . . and also weighing whether I'd rather party until midnight and maybe get to bed by 1 a.m. the night before sailing, or get a good night's sleep and feel fresh for the cruise. REALLY tough decision! :scratchin

I think several here may be doing MVMCP that evening though. They say the things we regret most in life are the things we DIDN'T do! :)

Something you may want to thinking about is tempting fate - HAHA

We purchased our tickets MONTHS in advance last year for our December 2009 trip - and while we were picking up our tickets at Will Call - there is someone trying to sell tickets for $20.00 - his family group had a family in their group cancel at the last minute, so he was selling 5 tickets I think - he ended up selling all of them $70 I think I overheard.

So you might want to try that route first - so that way you don't pay full price for tickets that you might realistically get 3 hours use out of.

It's worth a try! We may try it this year just to see if we can be successful HAHA :)

csharpwv - There were also a lot of fraudulent sellers, selling fake tickets around that time. Even though I'm sure the situation is possible, I would never buy tickets that way. You could end up out the money with nothing to show for it. It's just a big risk to take and the local authorities as well as Disney advise to be wary of such ticket scams.

Now if it's someone you know personally or maybe over a long period here on the DIS, then maybe. Otherwise you could be setting yourself up for a scam, but if you're willing to assume the risk I guess it's okay. :scratchin

Hi, we are flying in Friday from Philly but we land at 9:20 am....we have dinner at Kona at 5 then MVMCP after. It starts at 7. We are staying at AKV. We already have our tickets. You are really cutting it close. Id say you would probably arrive at MK around 8:30. I think they start letting people in at 4. We were going to change our dinner but decided not to 6 pm is fine gives us an hour to shop before it starts.

Hmmmm....you know when you dont want to miss a thing? I may call the airlines after 12 a.m on the day of my flight and book an earlier flight. My other cruises and disney vacations my oldest (melissa 23) was always working and wouldnt take the time off but this time she wants to come and expereince it w/ her little sisters. I really want to make Melissa experience everythnig we did. Thanks for all the advice....I have to look into this.

Here's another question...
my 11 and (then) 10 yr old want to be able to sign in and out of the labs/clubs. On our past cruise (this being our 3rd) my girls tortured us w/ "wht cant we sign ourselves in and out? Other kids younger than us do" UGHHHHHHHHHHHHH:headache: I just don't know. They are good kids I just worry about the next person....adults drinking, kids walking alone....I know I'm protective, I just don't know how I should handle this. They are already driving me nuts saking me for the room key and signing in and out!!
Once again lol...what do you all think, are they too young for this?

Closer and closer! Received yet another email from DCL today - to the "Meyr Party - Important News about your Disney Cruise" and "What do you wish for?"

Have to admit that every time they refer to me as "the Meyr party," I feel rather inadequate. I'm going to have to get them to announce me as "Taswira" when I board. I don't want this solo cruise beginning with CMs asking the inevitable, "Where's the rest of your party?" Ummm . . "Party of ONE?"

Let's get this party started!
