12/04/2010 Eastern MAGIC - CHIP 'N' DALE'S CRUISIN' NUTS

Our Pal Mickey sits in our Mickey Room. We haven't been to the parks lately, does Pal Mickey still "work" and do people bring Pal Mickey with? Trying to decide if I should bring him to MNSSHP. The Pal Mickey craze didn't last long enough for us to buy him any outfits.

plutojudy - Yes, Pal Mickey still works at WDW. I never take mine anymore unless I'm meeting up with someone who is bringing one though. They are still cute and fun. I have the original, the "Happiest Celebration," and the "Sorceror Mickey" one (final version). The remnants of our Pal Mickey's Grown-Up Pals Club, which had several hundred members around the world, is now Pal Mickey's Mouse Den and there is a photos page here with links to LOTS of Pals in various outfits.

Regarding packing: Chip 'n' Dale insist that I bring their radio controlled car, but I told them I don't think DCL would appreciate that!

dwtraveler - Let me know if you'd like to meet up (maybe lunch or dessert?) sometime between now and sailing . . since we are in the same general area.

Taswira, I would love to meet up sometime. Funny, I sing with the Stetson Women's Choir "Inspirare" and I almost invited you to our breast cancer fundraiser concert but backed out at the last minute. Guess I should have.

So, I am making my FE gifts and thought I was really ahead of schedule, but everytime I have guests (both family and friends) they love them and end up begging for them. Now I'm behind again so I am just going to stop showing everybody until I'm sure I have enough to give out on the cruise!

Taswira, I'm working on getting the "things" done for the Munk's Fitness Walk , also! You did a great job on the graphics!!!:woohoo:

Also Shari, I love your pins! Are you a collector? I have lots of Chip n Dale pins also (and too many others as well, or so my DH thinks).

I have one BIG pin bag full of Chip 'n' Dale. They are the only ones I really collected. I lost some interest when the pins kept getting bigger in size and gimmicky with dangles and such, although I do have several specialty pins of the 'munks, Pal Mickey, DCL & Passholder ones. I stopped collecting quite some time ago when I realized how much money had gone into it.

I've never been a "trader." Sometimes when I post a pin pic it is not necessarily in my collection. The pin on the Menus page of our site is from Frank (Donald_Quackers). I'm not sure if I have that one myself or not.

About the most I ever do with pins now is maybe put some favorites on a lanyard if I want to wear them for a special event or character dining, but it gets heavy and hot! :crazy2:

I got my first pin on opening weekend of WDW before pin collecting was even a thought. It was the least expensive souvenir I could find. Then got one each visit just to keep the tradition going. The price sure has gone up on pins and they really are quite intricate now. I bought pins when we went to Disneyland Paris (when I went, it was still EuroDisney, that's how long ago it was) before it was big there also. Hard to find them then. I trade with the cast members and enjoy our conversations and have even been to a couple pin events with friends but wouldn't say I'm a big collector. I do enjoy pin trading night with the officers on the cruises, but can't really say I have gotten anything special from them. I will be looking for a Chip 'n Dale pin on our Cruisin' Nuts cruise and hope to find a Christmas Cruise pin as well. Anyone else into pins?

DCL used to always have some nice Chip 'n' Dale pins years ago, but as with most things, they cut back on a lot and Chip 'n' Dale were probably the first to be affected. If they have anything new this time, I might buy, but only if it's something really different.

I'm still hoping they'll bring back the ladies' sailor Chip 'n' Dale t-shirts. I gave one to a chipmunk friend and kept the other but I've worn it way too much!

Hello everyone!!!!! :) I am so excited to say .... Got plane tix down and back 49 each way Southwest!!!!!!!!!:banana::banana::banana::banana:
Now I have to get the radisson booked :thumbsup2 then I gotta get my ride to the hotel settled and last of all hotel night for night we return.... But it feels real now that I got the plane tix!!!!!

Getting extremely excited... We can start booking all onboard and shore excursions August 6th. 9 more days..

We are definately booking the Golden Eagle Catamaran while visiting St. Maarten.

St. Thomas we are only doing the Tram, as my wife has declared that day as the shopping day, I just may drink all day. :woohoo:

I am going to try and book the cabana on Castaway Cay, but I know they are not open for reservations yet. Its our 17th Anniversary on that day, so I want to splurge a bit.

So we will be cruising together again:rotfl:.....we have to get the kiddos to connect like they did last time by chatting before the cruise....

This goes for anyone else with kiddos wanting to connect:thumbsup2

I have a vest of pins that I've collected, but haven't taken the time to photo all of them. I even snagged a special Chip 'n Dale pin from D23.

Maybe I'll take a pic to show everyone.

We have an app . . er . . a page for that! Cruisin' Nuts Kids HERE and can "sign-up" HERE.

If we get any new sign-ups tonight, I'll add them tomorrow. I'm finishing up watching a movie, then to bed. :)

I collect Pluto pins and my husband collects Mickey & Walt pins. We also have some DCL pins.

Hi All - Just have a question about FE gifts - do we know when the cut off date is for people to sign uip? Just trying to figure out when I can start buying and making stuff. And is it ok to do Chrismtas gifts - will that offend anyone who doesn't celebrate Christmas? Got plane tickets yesterday so I am very excited and I am getting tons f gift ideas in my head but don't knwo how many of things I need? Thanks Bye

Cut off date for the FE list is listed as October 23 unless that has changed. So far I've counted 26 cabins participating, including the undecided. I only have 16 FE gifts finished so I have a lot more work to do!!!:surfweb:

Cut-off date has not changed. The info is on the FUN page of our website. We hope our fellow Cruisin Nuts will occasionally check that page plus the MEETS page and the NEWS page of our site. Those pages are where updates are made.

For anyone who wants to "chip" in their ideas for our activities, please do so! This is OUR cruise, for ALL of us! If you have ideas or want to be "chief chipmunk" for any activities, please chime in!

So far we have Magic3forme (Val) heading the FE, and I believe the 'Munks Fitness Walk was dwtraveler's idea. So for those willing, there are still plenty of spots open for volunteers to help with all our various meets and activities.

I'll have to bring my pal Mickey now!

If we decide to bring Pal Mickey to MVMCP, he will also cruise. :santa:
I'm sure he'd love it! Any of you here who make a final decision to bring their Pal, please let me know. I wouldn't want mine to miss out on the fun. He was disappointed when I left him home this January. And if I do take mine, I'll have to tell my 'munks they can bring their own bag but will need to make some space for a mouse and a few of his outfits! :rotfl2:
