Where is everyone staying the night before?
We are thinking the Radisson because it offers free parking and free shuttle service. and it is soo close to the Port!

We are flying into and out of Daytona again. It is so much quieter and we really enjoyed seeing the raceway so we are staying in the Hilton Garden there.

Received the kids passports today.... 18 days! that was fast!! So we all can officially go on the cruise now!

Sat nite we are staying at AKL in Savannah view room.. BLT was sold out... but hey we are still on Disney property!!


John comes home tomorrow from his 10 day trip to Europe!

We have our reservation for December 2nd (Thursday)

So if you are going to be in WDW the week before the cruise - this would be a great chance to meet up before and share a 'cruise' before our 'REAL' Cruise! HAHA

We are looking to split the cost with anyone who wants to come along- and as of now it's just the two of us - so the potential is there for a party of up to 8 to join us!

We are traveling on the Auto-Train for our trip down! We picked up our tickets last week - we've only taken one Amtrak trip before and it was fun - so we are really looking forward to our train trip!

The Auto Train has been described before as like a mini-vacation before your vacation - we hope that's the case! HAHA

My daughter keeps talking about the lava cake she had 3 years ago on our last Disney cruise LOL. She is very excited. I dont blame her though. We had a blast with DJ Mike I wonder if he is still on the ship? The whole entertainment staff was amazing!!! Cant wait to meet all the new staff on board they really make for tons of fun LOL

I am on a roll today.... have dinner reservations for 12/11... `1900 Park Fare and then breakfast on 12/12 at Whispering Canyon. (2 places we have never been).

Johns older bro and sil will be joining us at MK on 12/11 and for both meals.. it will be soo much fun to have someone else with us~!

Whispering Canyon is one of our favorite places to eat! The dining experience is fantastic and don't forget to ask for ketchup

I can't wait to meet Mac (and the entire family) also! I imagine you guys will be busy when you get to Daytona before your cruise, but to put "location" in perspective - - To get to where I live from where you are staying you go left on the road between your hotel & the speedway (back towards the airport). Then after a left onto Williamson and a right onto Dunlawton/Taylor Rd., you drive until you see the Spruce Creek Fly-In on your left! That's where I live.

You know they ripped up and are repaving the track due to all the potholes and ruts? I don't think there will be any more races there until the Rolex 24 in January.

I knew they were working on it but thanks for the info. We really just want to do the visitor's center. Last time we just sat in the bleachers and took a bunch of pictures. The airport is so quiet and calm and it is pretty easy to use our FF points to get to Daytona. Just a much better fit for us. Hey being so local to our Hilton, can you recommend a good place to get adult beverages to take aboard? We're not after anything really difficult just some cerveza and vino.

tinkluvr12 - Actually I can't recommend anyplace to get alcohol here because about the only time I ever drink is when cruising (Apple Black Martinis and the occasional "drink of the day" - lol). I will ask my sister (now back to being a flight attendant based in Atlanta) when I talk to her though. She should know!

Yes, the Daytona airport is wonderful to fly in and out of. Not only is it relatively quiet, but when traveling you don't have all the crowds and hassles at security and with luggage that is the norm down in Orlando. Sometimes I wish they had more flights here, but then I don't because I don't want them to expand and lose their appeal!

OFF-TOPIC: Yes - the speedway's visitor center is great. BTW - I know he's "the old guy," but race driver Mark Martin lives in my community. Mike Skinner used to live down the street from me, but sold his house last month. I do a little website for local driver Ben Kennedy, who is the great-grandson of NASCAR founder Bill France Sr. His mom (Lisa France Kennedy) heads the International Speedway Corporation.

I know there are many who joined our cruise but haven't posted much (if at all) since, but I like to chalk it up to being busy and hope they'll all chime in again as our cruise gets closer.
