12/04/2010 Eastern MAGIC - CHIP 'N' DALE'S CRUISIN' NUTS

Plus there are at least 4 "Undecided" for the FE who may participate. :)

Cruisin' soon as the months sail on by! :boat:

I'm sure it is somewhere else on the DIS, but I checked DCL's latest FAQ and discovered the following update on their smoking policy. So whether you are a non-smoker like me or you're a smoker, here's their latest info - - -

"Disney Cruise Line has never allowed smoking in Guest staterooms. In addition, smoking is prohibited in all interior spaces throughout our ships. However, private verandahs and starboard-side open-air decks 9 and 10 have been designated as smoking areas in an effort to provide a cruise experience that satisfies both our non-smoking and smoking Guests. Between the hours of 6 p.m. and 6 a.m., smoking is also allowed on the starboard-side of Deck 4. The remaining hours are dedicated to those wishing to jog or walk along the Promenade.

Beginning March 25, 2010 on the Disney Wonder and March 27, 2010 on the Disney Magic, Guests who are found smoking in their staterooms will be charged a $250 stateroom recovery fee. This fee covers deep cleaning that includes air filter replacement, carpet extraction and the cleaning and replacement of drapes, comforters, blankets and pillows."

Well, it's finally done!

Made my flight reservations today and rental car to the port. I'm glad to have that all done!

Yay!

was gonna purchase my tickets from Southwest this week, but decided to watch the prices for a bit. Started on the FE gifts. Cant wait to chat and meet everyone.

Can't believe the time to cruise is at the same time so close and so far away! My FE gifts are coming along nicely but just remembered that I want to get my Christmas shopping done before the cruise so it's not a worry while I'm cruising. Time to at least start that list...And cruisers, don't forget to sign-up for the Fitness Walk!

The most exciting news of all....my DD and DS-in-law just told us she is pregnant! Due in early January so she said no worries about us going on the cruise. Less "Mother-Hovering" for her to worry about! It's been no secret that the past couple of months around here haven't been that great so this wonderful news has done wonders for my outlook. Revised my spirits and helped look to the future!

So, ready to cruise???:woohoo:

Hi all. I got an e-mail from the company we bought our pirate costumes from for our last cruise. We got them in August, wore them for Halloween that year and used them for the cruise in January. This year only my DD needs one for sure the others are still usable I think but anyway... just wanted to pass along this web site. Some of the costumes are 90% off this week. Yes, that is 90! I found one for my little girl with dress, boot covers and a hat for $14.99. Happy shopping and arghhhhh!pirate:

Congratulations on the baby news!:flower3:
We cruised once before in December and before we left, I had all my gifts bought and wrapped. All my decorations done before we left, that way when we returned we were ready for Christmas. Planning to do the same this year.

Congrats on your family news, Bobbie!

A thought about the Christmas shopping: A DCL tablemate once confessed to me how she thought she had made a mistake by getting all her holiday shopping done before the cruise. There we were a few weeks before Christmas and not only had she seen items in the ports that she really wanted to give as presents (but couldn't afford since she had finished her holiday shopping), but her two kids were pleading for a couple of expensive items at Treasure Ketch. She said that although she began the cruise feeling accomplished, next time she would save at least half her holiday shopping funds for the cruise. I don't have to think about that since I don't have kids and am sailing solo, but it sounds like perhaps something worth considering. :scratchin

Yep, you're right and I had planned to pick up a few things on cruise week but the bulk I need to have done since we will be traveling so much for the season and need to send stuff also. I like the idea af decotating before the trip, too. That is something I usually due Thanksgiving weekend anyway.

I also have a small tree ready to take on the cruise. Going to put the FE presents to give and the ones we get under it just like Christmas! See Ya Real Soon!

Funny about holiday decorating - - Since here in FL I have to do ALL the decorating myself, from the day after Thanksgiving I spend the rest of the weekend getting it done. It's exhausting but that's another feeling of accomplishment, knowing I can relax until the last day of the year when I have to take it all down. I am more than slightly superstitious, so we never start a new year with the Christmas tree and decorations still up. :santa:

The thing I hate is the merging of the holidays. I enjoy Halloween and want that to be over before I think about Thanksgiving, then Christmas. Nowadays you can walk into a mall (or even Walmart) in late September and see the shelves stocked with decorations for all three occasions.

Congratulations on the baby news!

Regarding Taswira's comment on Christmas shopping, I'm going to be doing the same thing. Get some stuff before the cruise (mostly for people who are non-Disney or I know them well enough that they wouldn't want anything from the ports, or I could take home legally -- cough, cubans, cough), and get some presents on the cruise.

On that note, I did purchase my first Christmas present, the limited edition Jessie doll that was being sold at the Disney Store.

I missed it the first time... Congratulations to you on the grandbaby! A new Disney lover is on the way!:cloud9:

Well we finally did it... we are DVC owners!! our home property is Bay Lake Towers by the Contemp!! :)
any other DVC owners out there?

Congrats on the new grandbaby!! :cool1:

Thanks for all the good wishes for our new family addition on the way....and congrats to the new DVC owners!:woohoo:

Hi everyone,

I haven't had a chance to read through all the messages yet but I look forward to chatting with you all. JenGC recommended I search DIS boards for meets. We just found out when my husband's leave is, and cruising is our favorite way to vacation. This cruise fits perfectly into our schedule.

We've done Carnival and RCCL already. My children will be 3 and 1 at the time of the cruise and I'm really hoping they enjoy it. I'm also hoping my parents will go since they have never cruised. Any info is greatly appreciated. I'm learning about fish extenders and have already purchased a few custom outfits for the kids.

We haven't booked yet. I've been working mostly through the DCL website and our local travel office. But I sent a quote request to Dreams Unlimited and I am waiting for their reply. So I was going to see if they could do any better. Any recommendations?
