12/04/2010 Eastern MAGIC - CHIP 'N' DALE'S CRUISIN' NUTS

OK guys - Our 'Munks Fitness Walk sign-up form is online and the info is added to our News, Meets, and Fun pages. I registered already. Anyone else?

dwtraveler - If you PM me your email address, I will forward you the spreadsheet after we get several on the list . . since I think it was your idea so I'm hoping you'll be "in charge." :dance3:

The other option is for me to make a separate web page as for our cruiser list, but I didn't know if we need/want that. Ideas?

UPDATE: I went ahead & added a 'Munk Walk column to our cruiser list page. If you think this makes the page too wide, please let me know and I'll change it back. Some of you may have to scroll to the right if you have low resolution or screen size.

Oh My Gosh taswira, you have taken this idea and done such a great job! I love the graphic and the teeshirts on the "Characters". You Rock!

Just sent you the PM and I would be glad to take this and "walk" with it. I think this could be a fun activity so everybody contribute any ideas for fitness fun during our cruise....:yay:

Information on our fitness walk:

* Walking/jogging on deck 4 on the ship information notes that people should observe a counter-clockwise direction to avoid collisions. Makes sense...

* One lap around this "promenade" deck(4) is 1/3 of a mile...

* Three laps around is equal to one(1) mile... :cool1:

Yep - We hope EVERYONE will join us at least one of the mornings (Sunday?). Everyone is free to move at their own pace - slow stroll, medium walk, brisk walk, race walk, jog, whatever you like. You never know. If we have a really good turnout, perhaps a chipmunk or two might make a brief appearance. ;)

So click this little graphic and sign up, Cruisin' Nuts!

I love this idea. I signed up for me all three days but I put a ? by the kids. Last cruise they were up later than Rick and I and slept in on the at sea days but one morning CJ did get up and jog with me so we'll see.

Also this will help me ward off those pounds. My original :wishthirty has been met :wishgoal !!!!:cool1: and I don't want to see them again!

Since I have late dining and my character breakfast is usually around 9:30 on the first day at sea after dining in Animator's, I'm sure there will be a day I won't show up as well. I imagine that will be true for most. We'll consider registration to be "serious intent," but realize that things come up. Since I don't know yet which day, I signed up for all three.

Although I will only do a brisk walk, I don't want to show up at the character breakfast looking like I've just exercised and didn't bother to shower. Wouldn't want the 'munks to think I can't "clean up" for them - lol. So on that day (and I hope it won't be the first day) I won't be participating. :sad1:

The walk sounds like fun...but I have no idea what our daily plans will be . :) I am more a fly by the seat of my pants kinda gal, dh and oldest are schedule oriented!! and our goal this cruise is to try more activities and not so much pool time. :)

so I may or may not be there for the walks... but a great great idea!! :)

Tink... congrats on the weight loss!! new clothes shopping for you for the cruise!! :cool1:

I bought my Birnbaums Disney Cruise Book Yesterday I love these books they help with so much. I just love reading about everything lol. I am ready for the cruise!! Wish it was this Saturday :) We decided not to do the parks this time around:( Hoping the cruise will be enough of a Disney fix for me. Also Hoping my sister will finally take my nephew to Disney he will be 10 next year and has never been. So I would be going with them if they go. I love taking people to the parks for the first time it is so amazing to see the excitement and fun they have.

Val - You are welcome to show up even if you don't register. Registration gives us an idea of how many are at least interested and which days they are considering participation. We all realize that on a cruise, things are always subject to change. :sail:

Of course we all know that no plans are written in stone on a Disney Cruise! As taswira said, signing up is really just to get an idea if there is real interest in this fitness walk. I have also lost weight, 40 lbs since Jan 2009, and don't want to find it again...

DH and my friend's DH have recently redeveloped their interest in photography. They just did a photo safari at the zoo in NC and are really enjoying their hobby. Since she and I always enjoy some girl time at the spa during our cruises, the hubby's needed to find things to do, also. They have done the behind the scenes tours. Well, this weekend I was at the book store and found the "Hidden Mickey's Go To Sea-A Field Guide to the Disney Cruise Line's Best Kept Secrets" book by Steven Barrett. It has hidden Mickey scavenger hunts for the Magic and Castaway Cay (also for the Wonder, but we aren't sailing on that ship this time). I thought photographing hidden Mickey's would be a great activity for the guys and they loved the idea. Hopefully we will get a good collection of pictures of hidden Mickeys when we arrive back at the port. :smickey:

Some of our trips to WDW have been just finding and photographing hidden Mickeys. We have Hidden Mickeys books for WDW, Disneyland and now DCL.

Don't know if you checked them out or not, but I would recommend the Passporter. You don't even have to get the 2010 edition, given that our particular cruise is already covered in the current edition.

I love the Passporter books I usually get the passporter for cruises and birnmaums for the park. I need to check out the passporter before the cruise I didnt see one in the book store when i was there :) Thank you

I downloaded our DCL passporter last time. Then I cut and pasted the stuff I really wanted as I read it into different word doc pages and put them into a 3 ring notebook I could add lots of pages, brochures and other stuff to. I used page protector sheets like giant pockets for dividers and did a section for each day of the cruise as well. It worked so well I'm doing it again for this cruise. All the confirmations, navigators etc could be punched and put in the right spot. (and yes... I am just a little OCD :rotfl: My best friend says I'm CDO-alphabetical like it SHOULD be!!)

PS- Way to go DW I hope to have hit the 40lb mark by Dec.

Hey Guys,
your idea is great. this idea will be helpful for every one, I want to join with family but due to some reason I can't sign up, but i want to share one idea that every one should enjoy with music while walking.

Thanks

Hi jackjill - Are you on our cruise? I can not find you on our cruiser list. If you are sailing with us and would like to join in, you need to complete and submit this form. Then if you would like to join our 'Munks Fitness Walk, complete and submit this form also. Depending on your browser screen, you may need to scroll down the page of those forms to be able to see the "Submit" button.

NOTE: It would help me if anyone having a problem with a form on the site would provide the details. "I can't sign up" could be a problem with your browser settings, your connection, a server timeout, server maintenance going on (especially middle of the night) or any number of things. I need to know the nature of the problem in order to try to resolve it. Thanks! :)

And thanks for your idea. I imagine those in the habit of exercising with a headset on will do so to enjoy their music. Those at a slower pace may want to converse with others or just take in the sights and sounds around them.

:cool1: 2 days til Disney..and the kids still dont know!! I may actually pull off this suprise!! :) I got a dinner on Sunday for Crystal Palace.. so a good Happy Mothers day to me and Happy birthday to lil John. :)
