John went to Disneyland Hong Kong today. He said it is alot smaller than MK. he also said alot of the rides had better graphics. (Buzz, Jungle cruise).
it is cheap too, 46 for the day.. 90 for a season pass.

Is it December yet?

Val - Hong Kong DL also has a LOT MORE Chip 'n' Dale (including merchandise) than WDW seems to! And the chipmunks there have some awesome costumes.

I wish I would have known that... I would have had him pick some stuff up I am on a mission to get a Chip/Dale lanyard when we go in 2 weeks!!

I am pushing to go with John to Paris this summer to see Disneyland there. I am on a major Disney kick lately!!

I am pushing to go with John to Paris this summer to see Disneyland there. I am on a major Disney kick lately!!

Paris DL has a lot of 'munk stuff also, about like Hong Kong unless they've changed. But the one with the most is Tokyo DL. They really love Chip 'n' Dale there!

Hello Everyone been a SUPER LONG time since I posted....... Sorry
I feel like Im always on warp speed but I figured it is about time I get bit by the Mickey Vacation bug so I can start planning!!!

I was bit shortly after booking this cruise and it can only be cured by flying out of Chicago knowing that I'm going to be on the ship the following day.

Just waiting for Southwest to release fares in June so I can book my flights.

OK, so I'm on the DISboards now and really happy to be part of it. Can't wait for our cruise and enjoying all the chatter and fun leading up to it. I've started making my FE gifts and enjoy all the posts. Soooo....

I'm not on facebook. I guess all the negative press about how mean people are on facebook and the lives that have been ruined by negative post on facebook have scared me off. I keep up with friends and family by e-mail and phone calls. I know people talk about a facebook page for our cruise so I was wondering if facebook is for me or not. Can you all give me pros and cons of being on facebook. Do you feel it is worthwhile or not? Is it too time consuming? Is it too invasive in your life? Is it really secure and safe to use? How does the privacy thing work?

This is really a new concept for me and I really haven't explored it before so any information will help me decide what to do....Thanks

dwtraveler - Don't worry about not being on Facebook. I am on it but RARELY use it. There have been times I've even thought of deleting my FB account, but that probably won't happen before this cruise. I have my privacy settings to the max but still do not trust that site much so hardly have anything on there. What I don't like is that they keep changing their policies and our privacy settings can change without our knowledge. So if you are uncomfortable with the concept, just stick to this thread on the DIS (or the much less active Passporter or Cruise Critic thread) or our own little forum on Boardnation (Click on the "FORUM" button from our cruise website. Not many have joined there, but it's definitely safer than Facebook, as is the DIS.

So no worries. Be happy and "safe."

taswira, thanks, I really haven't been motivated to join facebook and you have put my mind to rest about missing out on more pre-cruise info.

By the way, I really would like to put together a group who would like to do a "Munk's Fitness Walk" on the at-sea mornings if anyone would like that. Not sure how to set that up but I know a few people sounded interested in it. Can we set up a place on the news page or a sign up place for that? Any sugestions for time, I think a few sugested maybe 9am? Maybe we need a "Munk's Fitness Walk" logo so we could make up buttons or something. Might help me from gaining too much extra "cruise weight". Believe me, I'm carring enough extra already!!!

YES - I think a 'Munk Fitness Walk(s) is a GREAT idea! I can put a sign-up form on the website. Let me know what fields you might want in the form if anything in particular. I think 9 am on sea days sounds good. I'll also try to find an appropriate 'munk graphic to edit to create a logo. Let me know your ideas as to text for it. I'll work on this over the weekend.

I love facebook!! It helped so much last year find old classmates for our reunion and since I moved last year it is a great way to chat/ keep in touch with my old friends. I also like to post pics on their for my family to see since they live 12 hours away. ( I have all my info private.) John on the other hand hates FB. lol.

We are thinking about going to MNSSHP on Oct 24. we didnt go last year and did the Xmas party instead.. we like the Halloween party so much more.

only 6 more days til we leave for WDW, I tried to call and get last minute dining reservations.. but no luck, but no big deal, I am sure we can wing it.

Did anyone see the glasses/ bowls etc on Disney on FB? they are available at Target.. I will be going this weekend to get some. I just did the new bathroom downstairs in Mickey. shower curtain, towels .. its looks so cool.

When I saw your last line I thought "I'm A Health NUT!"

I'll make a field for user name, number of adults/children, and which sea day/s they plan to participate. Probably easier that way than real names since several first names are the same.

I think I like 'Munk Fitness Walk instead of "walker." The latter made me picture my mom's rollator (rolling walker). Nothing wrong with that, but "walk" should be fine.

Magic3forme - I know a lot of people love FB and that will probably not change, but the majority are not aware of the violations to their privacy. If you have not heard about FB's new direction, you MAY want to read this news article. Most will continue to use FB. I have removed much of my info but kept the account and reinforced my privacy settings. Bottom line is that often things change without users realizing it.
