12/04/2010 Eastern MAGIC - CHIP 'N' DALE'S CRUISIN' NUTS

I would love to do an Alaskan cruise. ( but I want to see the new ships first. :cool1:)

The party was a success.. but I have enough food and alcohol to have another party!!! :)

Gabby got her braces on today... that is almost the price of a cruise!! for some it is a cruise etc.

We just got back from a weekend road trip to Memphis/Graceland. Long trip in the rain Friday but it was fun. I've been wanting to go to Graceland since my car came with XM radio. All Elvis, all the time. Fun! Had some yummy BBQ at Corky's, saw Beal Street, Hotel Lorraine, the Civil Rights Museum and Sun Studio. That was a lot in one day, I wish we had another day there.

I cant wait for my Vacation in November I am already planning my meals LOL www.allears.net makes me hungry to go now!! The Cruise is a long ways away however booking this far in advance we have a good chance for an upgrade. Our 2007 cruise we got a really nice upgrade from a catergory 12 - a category 9 ? with a porthole window!! We book what we will be happy with and anything extra is a bonus for our vacation :) So there are advantages to booking this early. So maybe get excited some for a chance at an upgrade.

Yes, that possible, Jenn! :) I'm usually out of luck because unless I book a Cat. 5 (only because the person rooming with me would prefer it) I always get Cat. 7 Navigator Verandah because I enjoy the "atmosphere" (and being able to use the verandah even if it's raining or really windy), BUT . .

The downside of that is that when Florida resident rates are available, I am unable to take advantage of them unless I am willing to give up that Navigator Verandah, because so far I've never yet seen them offer FL Res rate on Cat. 7. :sad2: I suppose that's because there are so few Cat. 7.

My mom insisted for our Jan. cruise that we get a Navigator Verandah (Yaaaay!), but when I asked her if she wanted me to upgrade if FL rates came out and made a Cat. 5 cost LESS (as was the case when Holly & I cruised), she said NO - lol. Like me, she likes its "all weather" use, plus she wants to make sure we have our safety drill INSIDE in Animator's Palate as we did on her first cruise.

I only had an inside room once in all my cruises, for the first half of a back-to-back because my fave Cat. 7 was not available. Honestly, I found nothing wrong with it. The sq. footage was nearly the same minus the verandah, and the only time I missed the verandah was in the morning when having coffee and doing my makeup  and just before bed when I was used to sitting on the balcony to write in my journal. If DCL's prices keep climbing, I may have to stop booking verandah staterooms if I'm going to keep sailing! :boat:

Jenngoofys,

I have been browsing allears too. :) I think I've done all the ADR tinkering I can do. I'm just ready to go! Although I still have some more on my "to get" list to mark off. sigh.

We will be at WDW one month from today! :woohoo::woohoo: I am so ready for a vacation from the real world. Is it too soon to start packing? LOL

It is never too soon to start packing. It makes a vacation seem that much closer. :goodvibes

Maybe I'll run into you guys again at WDW. I'll keep an eye out for those twins. Please remind them that I'm harmless. ::MinnieMo

LOL - I think it would go better this year. They are less shy & this year I don't think seeing a life size mouse will scare the tar out of them like it did last year. We were all overwhelmed last year. Newbies. :)

Deb - I bet they'll have a wonderful time and even be asking to see many of their favorite things again, hopefully including the mouse - lol.

Just don't forget to take them to see Chip 'n' Dale. There is even a chance that the chipmunks might know what they're talking about if they mention that they are going on the Chip 'n' Dale's Cruisin' Nuts cruise! ;)

We are staying at Fort Wilderness this time. So we are packing hot dog & smore fixin's. Plan to visit Chip & Dale at the campfire! Can't wait. Maddie especially wants to see Chip & Dale - since they told her (by nodding in agreement) that they are twins too. She feels a kindred to them now. :)

I took them to Chuck E Cheese, was happy to see that rat didn't send them screaming for home. Figure that's a good sign. :)

I don't know if C&D at Ft. Wilderness (umm . . you know what I mean) know about the cruise, but if not, please inform them! Word is getting around among chipmunks.

LOL - we'll be sure to inform camper Chip & Dale, in case they were left out of the loop.

DH picked up skewers for the campfire - hoping the movie list for the Saturday night we get there is something our DDs will like. :)

I'm excited. :)

I'm ready to leave the real world & have someone else do the cooking/dishes for a while.

I am ready for vacation too. :) The week before we leave I am going to Ohio for a moms weekend! my friend is turning 40 and we are going to another friends' parents lake cabin. my friend has no idea I am flying in!! :) we will see how John likes being the single parent :lmao: the kids have all ready picked out the restaurants they want to go to.

Gabby keeps picking out things she wants to do at WDW, I almost let it slip we are staying at the Polynesian not the POR. anyone know if you can see the fireworks from Magic Kingdom at the Poly?

John/jr are flying to Pittsburgh this weekend, John jr is going to his first official Steeler game at Heinz Field. he is sooo excited!! (they are going to freeze... the high will be 46 that day.... we had shorts on yesterday!)

We have a cat 6 booked for us and an 11 for the kids.. right across the hall. first time we have 2 rooms.

I've never been to it - but I've read you can see Wishes from the beach at Poly, and that some spots have the music piped in as well. Makes sense, as some people plan an ADR at Ohana's to coincide with the fireworks, as you are suppose to be able to see them from teh resteraunt as well.

Looks like we'll be right down the hall from you on the Magic. We are in a cat 6 on deck 6 as well. :)

Deb --- your f/e gift will be very easy to deliver!! :) Deck 6 is new for us..... we got spoiled having the pool/drink station only one floor up.

John and John jr are off to Pittsburgh this morning... lil John is going to his first Steeler game in Pgh. he is soooo excited!!! the girls and I get a quiet weekend at home. :) pedicures tomorrow. :)

What is the deal with the countdown clocks not working saying they are invalid? anyone know? Hoping its just a temporary problem and are fixed soon.

I have wondered about our MickeyPath countdowns too.

We leave Houston in 25 days.

Weird about the MickeyPath ticker. When I went to edit my signature, it showed up. Went back to the threads and it didn't. Hmmmm.

I'm sure it's likely a temporary problem with their server, but I decided to switch to a MagicalKingdoms one instead. :smickey:

The last time we cruised in December we used a Christmas stocking as our Fish Extender. I think we will use it again on this cruise. What is everyone else planning to use? It was cute to walk down the hallways and see all the stockings. :santa:

I bought a fish extender off ebay. I think I posted a pic before - so appologize if it is annoying to see it again. :) I do like how it turned out.

I never thought about a Christmas stocking. Considering the time of year - that would be perfect. And I can imagine how cheery they would be to see!
