12/04/2010 Eastern MAGIC - CHIP 'N' DALE'S CRUISIN' NUTS

Jenn - How much more are they charging for Thanksgiving dinner at Chef Mickey's? Should be an awesome time! :thumbsup2

Jenn--- I am allergic to parmesan cheese and most other cheeses... lol. maybe that is why I am not the biggest fan of the food at Mickeys!!

Shari: my kids think it is cool when I get my picture taken with the characters!! (John all ready has his Donald doll ready for Chef Mickeys).

I always laugh when I hear people complain about the "adults" getting their pictures taken with the characters etc. it isnt fair how long the line is.. kids should be first. Hey.. we are all big kids and if we want to wait in line.. too bad. ( and we all paid the same amount to be here!!)

most of our favorite pics ironically are something Disney.. with the kids or the whole family. :) (our Xmas card the last 2 years has been from our cruise). this year it will be from WDW somewhere!!

I dont know im assuming the same as usual we are on the DDP. Only one TS credit. Sorry :confused3

Magic3forme - sorry you are allergic to cheese @_@ That probably is why you dont like the food there you cant eat any of it.

Val - Not only do we pay at least the same amount, we pay MORE! Adult admission or annual passes and adult meals cost more than those for little kids. Not to mention WE are the ones actually PAYING for things. And WDW is where we can "never grow up" so don't have to act our age. To me, without the characters it would not be Disney. So watch out kids - When I am in the vicinity, you'll definitely have some competition for the characters! :cool1:

Jenn - They usually charge more for holiday dinners (Thanksgiving, Christmas, Easter), BUT it is possible they already factored that in on your DDP.

Jenn--are you flying into Florida or driving?

we are driving now that we live so much closer. ( we drove from Ohio last year... making a stop in Atlanta to house hunt).

Has anyone thought about the hotel they are staying in Friday night before the cruise?
the past 2 times we have done the Halloween party so we stayed in Orlando. next year we are able to drive... so I want to be close to the port. and it will be soo nice to not have to stop at the store to pick up certain items. ( I am a Pepsi drinker.. so you will see me with pepsi cans!)

We are flying in. And as far as charging more I think it is figured into the DDP because they never said anything just put it on the plan. :)

Another step closer, I just booked our pre-cruise stay at the Radisson at the port!

Another pic of me with our two favorite 'munks!

I have read on the disboard about 50s prime time messing with you. I'm really hoping it won't scare our DDs. But I'm not warning my DH - I'd like to see him messed with. :)

We have never been on a cruise - and are really, really excited about this.

Shari, I hope Holly can go too - if not, you are certainly welcome at our table too - we also come with kids & are on early dining. But they do tend to be quiet. They just started Kindergarten this week - which seems to be making the time go faster for us.

One of my favorite memories of our first WDW trip (last year) involved Chip & Dale. When our DDs met them, Maddie asked them if they were twins too. They both nodded, and then the four of them (Chip, Dale, and our M&Ms) kept looking from one to the other rubbing their eyes - like they were all seeing double. I was bummed when we got home and discovered the pics were not on our photopass card. We took some with our camera - but DH & I were laughing along and didn't capture those shots ourselves. Live & learn.

Nice pics! You guys keep posting those 'munk encounter shots. After all, we ARE Chip 'n' Dale's Cruisin' Nuts!

Thanks again to any of those willing to add me to their dining table in the event that Holly can not get the vacation time. Although I generally prefer late seating, I know I would gratefully accept early dining with people I have met on the boards and/or in person instead of possibly ending up the only "solo" at the family reunion or anniversary table of strangers (which DID happen to me once!) - lol. So thanks for the consideration! :goodvibes

Dato63 -- cute pic!! :) what is the secret to telling the girls apart?

Donald ---- your pictures are great too. :)

What does everyone think of DCL's planned "enhancements" (as in quite a makeover) of Castaway Cay? This should be completed BEFORE we sail.

I have mixed feelings. While it looks impressive, I honestly hate to see this formerly "castaway atmosphere" island turn into a mini theme park, and it appears that's where it's headed. I imagine the best thing is that most kids will love it because there will be more things to do. Hopefully those of us "adults" who want the feeling of an escape without forking over big bucks to rent one of those new cabanas will still be able to find a semi-secluded spot at Serenity Bay. Ya think? :confused3

If not, I'll just spend even more time on my favorite ship, which shouldn't be too crowded, huh?

we are excited for the changes on CC. ( my favorite place on Earth!) we spend the entire day at the family beach. last year we took our time going back to the ship and it was great... the beach was empty and they had pizza at cookies as a snack.
we keep vowing to go to Serenity Bay, but it has not happened yet.
for us next year it should be great since it makes the island bigger and the ship size is still small.

I still think they are going to turn CC into a resort.. maybe on the other side of the island.

As long as they keep enough of it relatively undeveloped, I think it will be fine. And I do think it will be especially wonderful for all the kids, and maybe for those who want to rent one of the new cabanas and can afford it. I just really love the "castaway" feeling, and think much of that could (but not necessarily will) be lost if they are not careful.

Even being an adult without kids, I have always enjoyed spending at least half my time at the family beach area - primarily because I love seeing the characters in their beach garb - lol - and enjoy eating at Cookie's. Now . . not sure. I am anxious to see how it all turns out, but after that will likely head to Serenity Bay. ;)

I also have mixed feelings. I like things the way they are. I guess changes are needed to be ready for the larger ships. :confused3 I hope they don't mess with Serenity Bay other than the cabanas. We are thinking of staying at the family area on this cruise. There wasn't much sand at Serenity Bay this January and a lot of smelly dead seaweed. It was sad.

They don't look alike to us. LOL. One is heavier, and has a longer face. The other is smaller and has a rounder face. But they are both sporting glasses now, and thankfully they chose different frames. :)

As for the changes to Castaway Cay. We have nothing to compare it to. I do find it sad that it could be more theme park like. But the video does look pretty fun. Hopefully like others posted, there will still be quiet spots, etc.

Do they ever switch glasses to try to fool anyone? :rotfl2:

I only saw them that one time, but I think I could tell them apart. Just wouldn't be able to remember which name goes with which girl! :earsgirl:

They have not thought to switch glasses yet. LOL. I won't mention it either. They often dress alike if they know my father is coming over, as he can not tell them apart. Maddie has an odd sense of humor - and she likes to mess with him.

Will they be dressing alike on the cruise?

I'm excited to be able to see the new changes when they are new :) I do hope it has the same feel and they dont ruin the atmosphere. I have not seen the video yet but can't wait to. anyone have a link?

never mind found it :) LOL

Is anyone here on the NING network? I just started a "Disney Cruise Club" there, for Disney Cruise Line fans - mainly because the one someone else has that I'm a member of seems to have been abandoned by its creator. Anyway, I did not do it for this cruise in particular, but if anyone here uses NING and would like to join, it's at cruisenuts.ning.com (no www). I used that address name for lack of imagination to come up with another. ;)

Curious: How many here who have cruised with Disney before will be wearing many of the same clothes as on previous cruises? I've done that so much that I think that's why some servers and others who maybe haven't seen me for years often remember me - lol. The sad part is, I'll be doing it again! I have certain clothes I don't think I've worn since my last DCL cruise. Oh, my . . . :rolleyes1
