We received our documents yesterday. I have to agree, there is not much there! They have come a long way since documents were a whole package with a portfolio to keep everything together. Kind of "unexciting".
We leave Saturday for Las Vegas. When we return I have my birthday, Thanksgiving, Christmas decorating, our daughter's birthday, MVMCP and then CRUISE!

Seems my daughter misplaced her passport and birth certificate, she is now 16. Can she cruise with just the birth certificate? We can get that in one day.

I am trying to call DCL, but have been on hold for 15 minutes....

I'm almost certain that you need the passport. worst cas scenerio- get your passport in one day THEN get a passport EXPEDITED!! bUT i DO CROSS MY FINGERS THAT YOU FIND IT

Passports are not required for closed-loop cruises where you are departing and returning to the same port.

You will need the BC plus a photo id. Make sure the BC you get has the embossed (raised) stamp.

Passports are only required if you need to fly home.

Thank you, mengpasc! Since that was your first post, I thought you may have just "dropped in" and weren't with us. Oops! It's hard for me to keep track. I added your user name to that listing.

Congrats to all those whose docs have arrived! BTW to all - DCL has opened up "Group Bookings" for "popular" 2012 sailings of the Dream and the Fantasy, including the summer. Makes me wonder if the cabins are not filling as quickly as they hoped, but I still think they will sell well because they are new ships. Advice to our Cruisin' Nuts: Don't read that Dis thread about recent Magic reports causing worry or about the Magic losing her magic! It will have you looking for things (problems and all the bad stuff) and may cut into your enjoyment of the cruise. So ignore it and be HAPPY!

For a smile: If you "grew up Disney" as I did, you might enjoy and even relate to this article. I think I was still before this guy's time, but it's all Disney!

Starting buying some cosmetics etc for the cruise yesterday... I have to pack2 of everything since the girls will have their own cabin.

found out this morning that John will be going to China the day after we come home from Disney.. 12/13. He will go from one extreme to the next.

Shari-- I totally agree about not reading posts on about the Magic... there seems to be so much negativity anymore on the disboards.

We did have an odor in our room 3 years ago.. but it didnt hamper our fun at all... if you look for problems.. guess what.. you will find them.

I'm not worried about those reports (even though I read them). There have always been those sorts of things reported after drydock and are usually all ironed out by the 2nd/3rd cruise out anyway.

I'm not going to let that bother me anyway. One more month to go and I'll be on vacation!

I agree with NOT reading the bad reports or experiences from other cruisers - it's not going to change the fact that you ARE going on the Magic (you should have read up on it before you booked it!!). One time I went on an NCL ship and read some reviews that had me looking for the problems, and of course I found them!!! One small thing that someone mentioned was the fingerprints on the cabinets in the room, and it bugged me all week!!!

So, relax and just focus on the fact that in one month - four weeks from Saturday - we will be cruisin' with a bunch of nuts!

So, I was driving home from my yearly dental cleaning appointment and what do you think I saw? Someone putting out their Christmas decorations! Their yard was full of snowmen and angels and, yes, a Santa Mickey Mouse.

At first I thought, oh, way too early. Then, it really did just put me in the mood to cruise on our Holiday Disney ship, The Magic! Only 29 days!!!

Yep - I originally planned to order something from their Christmas merchandise to help decorate my stateroom, but after seeing what they have, I think I'll be more satisfied with my Christmas 'munk stuff I'm bringing.
