12/04/2010 Eastern MAGIC - CHIP 'N' DALE'S CRUISIN' NUTS

WAHOO! I got our cruise documents yesterday so we have filled out our online check-in and have cruise documents, lugage tags in hand and bags partially packed. For all intents and purposes I would say we are ready to cruise except for one little glitch...I found out this past week I need knee surgery so it is scheduled for November 11th. This puts a krimp in some of our plans but we are planning on cruising anyway, wishing for a little Disney Magic and pixie dust so that my recovery is swift and mobility is achieved before the 4th of Dec. Either way, I will be on the Magic with a drink in my hand for the sail away party!:sail:

Shari--mengpasc is We love Disney. :)

If I can get my creative juices flowing I will participate in the where are you from. :) (problem is ..I am not attached to Atlanta. :rotfl2: )

Congrats on getting your cruise docs, but now knee surgery? Yikes! My sister's boyfriend had knee surgery last week. I hope all goes well for you and I wish you a VERY SPEEDY recovery! :flower3:

Hi Everyone...

Nothing really to say I actually just wanted to see how many days on my ticker clock :)
Have a SAFE, FUN & VERY HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!

LINDA & FAMILY

Just checked mail and I received my cruise docs also. :goodvibes

Must say though that I am not happy about one thing - - I immediately noticed the cruise booklet was thinner so I went through it to see why. Turns out that because I completed my cruise contract and payment authorization forms online, this time (for the first time) those two forms are missing from the document booklet. So it tells me to PRINT them from online and bring them with me of course. In the past I still completed online check-in but used the forms from the booklet to sign and turn in, to avoid printing and carrying the larger pages. Now I don't have that option. Would it have cost them that much more to keep those two pages in the docs?

I know it's no big deal for most people, but I really don't print ANYTHING. I never use my printer anymore, it is not easily accessible, plus I'll have to buy new printer cartridges in order to print anything. So thanks, DCL (NOT!)!

Okay, my venting is over. Halloween is nearly here and that's my favorite day (night) of the year. So everyone have a safe and HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

Stephanie - Although Mac being "3 wks from 11" is noted on the Cruisin' Nuts Kids list, I also just added it to her listing on the regular cruiser list. ;)

Sorry for the delay. I've been much busier than usual, so much so that I didn't get at the computer at all today until about 30 minutes ago. Yikes!

I have only been making it on every day or two (or three) anyway. So please don't worry about it! Thanks. Have a good weekend!

35 days and counting. Getting ready to Philadelphia for a 3 day conference/team building event for work.

No docs here either, and hope the knee surgery goes well!

Tas, I completed online checkin for my first cruise back in '08 and didn't get those pieces in my cruise docs at that time. Interesting.

On a different note, I noticed in recent pics that the gangway has been changed for the Dream/Fantasy. Is it now completely enclosed where you don't have an open area to cross over to the ship?

I've done online check-in for as long as they've had it, but my mailed cruise docs have always included all the forms, so I never had to print any. They spoiled me so now I am disappointed. The stupid thing is that they include the airline check-in and ground transfer forms, which I could not possibly use since I live less than an hour from the port. So if it's cost cutting, couldn't they have removed those two inapplicable forms and replaced them with the ones I NEED?

I'm wondering if they DO include them when you purchase DCL's Vacation Protection insurance but DON'T when you don't. I wonder because for our Oct. 3rd cruise we used DCL's insurance as usual, and for my December one I did not. How about you?

Hey Everyone
Cruise docs arrived this week up here in Canada (guess those new dog sleds for postal service are working well :rotfl:).......air mail does wonders.
Shari, all info looks correct for us nuts.
We are super excited, hard to believe we are only a few short weeks away!:cloud9:

I use the DCL insurance and didn't get those documents in my booklet also. We also recieved airline check-in and ground transfer forms. Funny since we live an hour from the port as well. We completed online check-in last month before recieving our cruise documents. I didn't even think of it because we have already printed out what we need to bring to check-in. Shari, if you need a printer, you can always come use mine. I'm kind of stuck home anyway, hahaha...

I would participate in a location gift exchange, Florida/Disney related gift easy to find!

Thanks for the pixie dust for my knee surgery. I am hoping for a speedy, speedy recovery. My doctor was a downer though. He started with, "For my patients under 40, things go much faster, but over 40, well, we'll see..." I think his patient/doctor interaction needs a little work! Way to make a person feel great and yes, I'm over 40.

Got our docs yesterday. They did include the sign in papers, since I hadn't done anything online yet except register Sianna for the kids' club (I'm doubtful they ever actually 'fill up' especially while school is still in.. but I wanted to be safe :) Part of my vacation happiness depends on her vacation happiness.. a large part of which is being in the kids club.)

Anyway, last night we went to a costume wedding..and we wore our pirate outfits.. since they were already out and ready to be packed.

There are a few pieces missing, like Mike didn't want to wear his bandana and the eye patch was bugging me.
But we are almost ready :) I am SO excited and need this vacation.

Hey everybody...
I had a kids club question so I called DCL this morning. Mac will be so close to 11 and wants to be able to hang out with both sets of friends she has on the DIS the 10 and the 11's. I wanted to see what the policy was for ages. Anyway, I got an awesome agent who told me the following little bits of info so I thought I would pass them along.

Attire info:
Formal Night will be Sunday (Night 2)
Pirate Night will be Tuesday (Night 4)
Semi Formal Night will be Thursday (Night 6)

Tangled will be playing in the Buena Vista Theater.

FUN!!:yay:

Did she says what it was for 'almost 8'? Sianna will be 20 some days shy of 8.. and I would love for her to be able for her to check herself into the kids club.

Thanks for the update on days..and glad to hear about Tangle, we will definitely wait for the cruise to see it!

Tanya- she said it was up to the counselors. The ages listed on the web site are guidelines. It is a safety issue with the total numbers in the clubs. Since our cruise is not too full it shouldn't be too big a deal to get them bumped either way if they are close like ours are.

Not sure about the checking in. They might be more firm on that. Mac was 9 by two weeks our last cruise and she did a great job checking in and out. Her friend was 8 and she had the ability to do it too. I think it says 8-12 can self check. I know when I registered Mac on line it asked what I wanted. Hope that helps.

No school tomorrow so it's cruise prep days. Suitcases, FE gifts and all. Wish me luck. Very busy the next month, as most of us seem to be, so these two days are pretty much it.

Steph:woohoo:
