We are planning our first visit as DVC members, and I am looking at my booking window at 11mo out... How important is it to book right on the dot? We are planning for a March visit in 2019, so we need to book in April, my problem is we will be in Jamaica when the booking window opens, and I don't know how available the wi-fi is at the resort. (I also don't like using my phone to book I like using a computer) If it's important to book on the dot, I can and will; I was just hoping some of you with more experience could share your advice for me.

I wouldn’t worry too much at the 11 month window, we haven’t struggled to get what we want a month after.

What is your home resort?

The Poly :)
I know it's not that busy at that time of year but we are new members, and I have zero experience, so I wanted to make sure.

I think your resort is Poly, right? You will be fine waiting a week for a march booking.

If you were AKV with your heart set on Value that would be different.m

I was able to get Poly for a March reservation at the 7 month window for 2018. You should be fine.

Wild card is always when Easter is, but even then, if you're in before 9 months, you're fine. I don't know that there is a single week at Poly when you can't get a studio for your dates at 10 months.

It's not a resort with high demand or small categories that make things more back-stabby.

You will have no problem waiting some time to book a Poly studio for that time of year at 11 months out. Including through 2018, the Poly studios have heretofore always been open even at 7 months out for all of March and April (including the Easter weeks)

We reserve as soon as we can. It all depends on the type of room you want, standard studios can be difficult to get. What resort you are staying at and when you want to stay. Obviously, the busier times are more likely to fill quicker. Not sure if Spring Break makes a difference for DVC, but the parks are definitely more crowded and the resorts are busy.

Poly has lots of studios and has often been available at 7 months. While booking may become more difficult as it sells out, IMO, there is no need for you to worry about booking for a March stay right at the 11 month mark.

You can safely wait until you return home from your April vacation in Jamaica to book your DVC stay for 2019. Personally, I am not sure I would even trust public hotel wi-fi to book anything unless I had a personal VPN. YMMV.

We always book as soon as possible. We just do not want to have the room we are needing not available. I do not know how others do it but when the 11 month mark hits we have already been working on this trip for months and often have others involved as well. Just do not want to risk it..smjjºoº
