I have 11 days until I leave for 2 weeks in Disney. So far I am not excited. I know it is because of my current circumstances but I want that Disney excitement to come.
Here is my current story. In April I tripped over a huge garden rock and ended up tearing the Achilles tendon off of my heal bone. After a few test and Dr's visits I had surgery in May. I was put in a cast and was not allowed to put weight on foot. I have basically spent the last 5 weeks in bed. Which has been a story in itself. 4 day's from today I get the cast off. WOOOHOOO and go into a walking boot for 2 to 3 months. I will be able to walk on the foot then.
So I think the Disney excitement has been squashed by the anticipation of getting out of the cast. I actually had to push the trip back because of the surgery. (originally was to leave on June 3rd) I also think I am a little worried of how much I will hurt once in the boot. I am glad I have a week between getting the cast off and going into the boot. I will be able to build up a little stamina in that week. I will have an ecv and room with a roll in shower for the trip. So that should make things a bit easier. My son knows we may have to take the trip a bit slower. (Son and I are going for 5 days then my hubby will join us for the rest of the trip) And once my hubby gets there they can go off more if I'm not feeling good.
I am sure once I get the cast off my focus will be on Disney and I will get excited.
Well I just needed to share my situation. Thanks all for reading.
