Just one more day until you're there!!!

Thank you so much, jabead!!!! I can't believe the day is here :hyper: I'll have yummy Disney food in my belly in less than 8 hours :cool1:

Happy Anniversary!
Thank you, NoOrdinaryPrincess!!!

So the goal was to get any sleep whatsoever. I managed four hours!!! Yay!! I'm up a half an hour early, but don't want to disturb DBf as he's still peacefully asleep (that boys a fool - doesn't he realize we're going to DISNEY today!!!!!!!!)

I'll catch all you DISers later! Look for tons of snack (including ice cream and tons of cupcakes), alcoholic drink (margs from Tava anyone?) and food (over 20 meals will be had) pics upon my return.

Thanks everyone for helping me plan my first "adult" Disney vacation. Mama is so proud of me! ;) The time has come to actually enjoy the trip. I hope DBf appreciates all my hard work :goodvibes ;)

Hi, DISers! Vacation is going amazingly so far. Unfortunately DBf and I have forgotten to take pictures of all of food but we've been trying to remember :lmao: we have 9 days left so hopefully well get more in the habit ;)

Hi everyone. I just got back up north yesterday. Seriously happy to be back. We had an amazing trip with amazing food, but we both caught a nasty cold (and it seems everyone else did too - especially at POP). Unfortunately I was sick for almost 50% of our vacation. But what can you do, right?

DBf said the highlight of the trip for him was - drumroll please - THE FOOD! Yay ::yes::

Our bellies were beyond full the entire trip and I can't wait to share it all with you :)

Please note that my reviews for Wolfgang Puck Express Part I*, Les Chefs de France, Resaurantosarus*, T-Rex Part I, Lattawatta Lodge, and half of Whispering Canyon Cafe will have no pictures. These were the restaurants from our first three days and I took pictures for most of these meals. However my sisters DSLR ate my pictures because they were so yummy looking I guess. I somehow lost all the pictures I took from the first few days :furious:

*some of our snacks/meals I was able to get pictures of later in the trip.

The pictures from the next few days were saved from my cameras wrath but they are on the computer DBf took with him to Chicago for his visit to see his mother. I'll try to get those ASAP and once I do I'll begin the review.

The remaining half of the trip I took pictures on my iPhone as I no longer trusted the DSLR so please excuse me if the quality is poor. I have an iPhone 4S so they should be decent :)

After our two hour long plane ride - we were hungry! We had plans to head to DisneyQuest when we arrived and we had a 5:30PM reservation at Les Chefs de France tonight. Thus begins our foolishness of splitting our counter service meals! :rotfl:

This was my first time eating at Wolfgang Puck Express but I had high expectations from the DIS - DBf had no idea what was in store for him!

We arrived around 11:30am and we (and by we I mean I!) decided to get the pepperoni pizza sans peppers, a water bottle, and the creme brûlée.

We both loved the pizza and devoured it in like 5 minutes.

It was DBf's first time eating creme brûlée and he was a bit hestitant at first. He was confused as to how the strawberry was in the dessert without cracking the topping - then he realized the strawberry was cut in half ;) I think I took a bite of the dessert and pushed it away - too full! DBf polished off the rest though.

Overall impression of WPE: MUST DO AGAIN!!

We ended up getting seated for Les Chefs de France 30 minutes before our reservation which worked out for us because we had worked up an appetite after all our gaming at DisneyQuest.

This was delicious bread, that was the perfect dipper for my appie! I think this was DBf and I's favorites of all the bread we were served over the course of our vacation :goodvibes

I went with the three course prix fixe menu so I got the french onion soup with that.

DBf and I were blown away with how good this soup was. Neither of us are big soup fans in general, but this was lick the bowl clean good!

Filet de Saumon, ratatouille sauce Choron
Broiled salmon, tomato Bearnaise, ratatouille made with onions, zucchini, eggplant and bell peppers

This was my first time ordering salmon in a restaurant. I'm not really an "adventurous" eater - although in fairness salmon isn't THAT adventurous! However this was another amazing dish (you're going to here me say that a lot in this review - we weren't disappointed with any of our table service meals!)

Canard a l' orange, haricot verts et polenta
Duck breast and leg confit a l' orange, French green beans and polenta
(Stolen from Google)

This was DBf's first time eating duck and from what I could tell he loved it! He said it was kind of a mix between beef and chicken? I tried some and didn't love it, DBf did try mine and said the same. I guess we each ordered correctly ;)

Profiteroles au chocolat
Puff choux with vanilla ice cream and chocolate sauce
(actually mine!)

This was a fancy dessert that was right up my alley! Although to be honest I didn't love it. On reflection it was probably one of my least favorite table service desserts - but it looks lovely, no?

Assiette de sorbets du jour
Daily assortment of fresh sorbets

Can't really find a picture with the types that DBf had. I believe he got four different kinds. One was definitely coconut because I tried it and it was delicious!!! Not sure what the other three ones were but DBf scarfed it down in seconds.

Overall impression: Very good, would return!

We used up two snack credits before IllumiNations started at Karamell-Küche.

We both found these to be TOO sweet! I wanted to come back here later in the trip, but we never had room for another visit.

Welcome back to the DIS, Jenn! Sorry to hear about your lost pics...that must have been very frustrating! :worried: But I must say that your pic of the profiteroles was very nice. I'm assuming it was taken with your IPhone???

Anyway, great reviews so far! :thumbsup2

Thank you! Yep profiteroles pic was taken with my iPhone so I could make my mother jealous ;) I uploaded all my iPhone pics and most of them came out really great :) yay! I have hundreds of pictures and most of them are of food :cool1:

Great reviews so far even if you did have to steal some of them from google! :rotfl:Your review of Les Chefs was so much like mine! My DD and I ended up loving the soup so much that we still talk about how good it was and the amount of cheese was crazy! She asked me if I could learn to make it but I don't think I could do it justice. And I wasn't wowed by the profiteroles (I thought the puffs tasted dry) but I did like the chocolate sauce! We had different main courses but we really enjoyed them too.

Can't wait to read more!

Great start to your reviews! I love the onion soup at Les Chefs! Today is our first chilly day after a hot summer and it would be great to have some of that soup today :thumbsup2

Sorry about your lost pics. Glad you had a great time. I so want to try that duck dish. I am not adventuresome when eating, tend to eat the same thing all the time but that duck looks good. Now if I can convince the rest of the family to try chefs.

Great review - I completely agree about the bread at Chefs de France - we loved and ate so much - even though we were already full when we started! My DD had a cheese puff pastry with her meal and normally she loves that - but she pushed it aside in favor of more French baguette. I don't even really like baguettes that much - but this one I atea, and ate, and ate some more.

The cheese!!! It's really what made the soup - I wish I had a bowl right now to help me get over this cold ;) I think that was my issue with the profiteroles too. It was too dry, but the ice cream and sauce was super yummy!

Totally agree, I'm going to have to look for a good local french onion soup.

DBf really loved his duck! Les Chefs is definitely worth a visit, the service was spectacular too (we had a super cute waiter ;)!)

Baguettes = true love.

Forgot to mention - we saw REMY! Even though our reservation was for 5:30pm it seems that Remy makes rounds during dinner time? It was a super awesome surprise - I just wish my camera didn't lose the pictures of him :(

Going to try to do my reviews for day two and possibly three today. I'm still getting over this really bad cold and have been in bed most of the week recouping from being sick and going commando for 11 days straight :rotfl:

After we rode on the safari two times we decided we were hungry for a little morning sugar! So we were off to the Kusafiri Bakery to pick up these beauties.

Brownie Pawprint

This was super rich and yummy! Very, very sugary though!! Best to split (which we did). The chocolate fudge topping was so, so good. This was perfectly sinful!

White Chocolate Elephant Cupcake
Rich chocolate cake filled with chocolate cream, topped with a light buttercream and toasted coconut

Anytime coconut is involved - I'm in! This was a great cupcake, but again VERY sweet. I believe it was topped with pecans? DBf couldn't eat those so the whole center blob was pushed off onto my side so I got like three times the sugary fun. In fairness, DBf had the white chocolate elephant lollipop as we were waiting for Expedition Everest. He wasn't a fan, but in general doesn't like white chocolate so take that with a grain of salt. I believe we even got a photo pass picture with the elephant at some point, so the little guy was at least good for a laugh!

Bonus Photo - sent to parents to make jealous!

We had somewhat spoiled our appetites with our desserts so we weren't quite hungry when lunchtime rolled around. We planned on going to Flame Tree Barbecue for lunch, but we desperately needed to refill our camelback (besides bringing my own pillow, best packing decision of the trip!!!!). I knew that Restaurantosaurus had a refillable drink station, so off we went. For some reason we just decided to stop here for lunch instead of Flame Tree? I think the intention was to split a meal here and then split another at Flame Tree before we left. Well, that didn't work out and we never got to Flame Tree! Very disappointing!

Anyway, at Restaurantosaurus we ordered a coffee, a bacon cheeseburger, and children's cookie.

I don't think I actually took any pictures of this meal, but here is a picture of the bacon cheeseburger at Cosmic Ray's that we had later in the trip. I'm pretty sure this was the same exact thing at both locations.

This meal with was an overall, eh. We probably would have been better off going to Flame Tree!

I'm going to give a skimpy, no pictures review of T-Rex. Let me just start off by saying that we had the best service of the trip (and possibly of my life!) here by Maria.

She was very helpful as we tried to figure out if we should use credits or the Landry's rewards I had. It turns out that it's dependent on the state that you register in whether or not you can use your rewards on alcohol! We were planning on using the entire $50 we had to buy fun cocktails but because we registered in Pennsylvania it was a no go.

We decided to use credits anyway.

I ordered Shark Water, which is a sprite with some kind of blue coconut syrup... yummy!! I think DBf got a cranberry juice.

DBf ordered the Boneyard Buffet: Fire-roasted Rotisserie Chicken and Mega Mes-O-Bones served with waffle fries and your choice of one of the following sides: garlic mashed potatoes, Raptor rice, baked beans, cinnamon apples, cole slaw or roasted vegetables. I think he choose the mashed potatoes or maybe the roasted veggies, not sure!

Oh my god, the ribs were fall off the bone good! I don't think I tried any of the chicken but DBf devoured his entire meal and it was HUGE!

I got some kind of special dish they had called the Triassic Trio. It came with a steak (not sure the cut, but it was DELICIOUS!), grilled shrimp, scallops in the most delicious sauce! I think it came with rice but I subbed for mashed potatoes.

I love things from the sea, while DBf does not - so this was the perfect dish for me! The scallops were seriously out of this world!

For dessert I got the Ice Age Indulgence (Layers of ice cream sandwiches, fudge sauce, whipped cream and Heath Bar Crunch) and even though I was ballooning out of my shorts, I somehow managed to finish it! It was amazing!

DBf got the Cosmic Key Lime Pie (freshly baked key lime pie in a graham cracker crust, served with raspberry sauce and fresh whipped cream). I'm not a fan of fruity desserts but this was right up DBf's alley. Another thing he absolutely devoured!

This was an amazing meal and a great use of a table service credit because we got a mind blowing amount of good food! We thought we were going to be sacrificing quality of food for the atmosphere but that wasn't the case at all. We loved it so much we came back on the one night we didn't have a table service planned to use up our $50 Landry rewards.

I am so trying that elephant cupcake next week! I am not a fan of pecans, so I guess I can pick them off.
