11/8/03 Western Cruise roll call.... "looking for info from DISers"

We head to the World the same week in November just about every year as DS generally has at least 3 days off that week.
Since DW's birthday is 11/8 and our anniversary is 11/11 we usually get to celebrate both on our trip. I'm sure we will continue to go at this time every year as DW says it makes it much easier to have a birthday when you celebrate with Mickey. Somehow I don't think I will put up any arguement about a trip to the mouse.

Is there a family w/ 10-12boy main dining who would like to link their dining ressie w/us?

Just curious - who else is on deck 6? We're in 6124
The deck plans show connectors but there isnt an arrow?

thats a great idea. now that we have this 11/8 roll call, lets have a deck roll call (for those who want to participate) !!!! I am on deck 5! would be interesting to know who from this list you will be lodging next to. anyway, its a t

we're on deck 6. 6624 (my parents) and 6643 (us). We've always been on deck 2 before and LOVE it, not sure how quiet the upper decks are but we'll see. plus we have no "window" but should be ok - better inside than onshore!

Its 640am Dave - Im anxiously awaiting - thanks for doing this

Diana - your parents have the opposite room of us - we're 6124 -other side of ship but same location

MouseGoofy~ Our anniversary is 11/11 too! How many will it be for the 2 of you? We will be celebrating our 25th! We can't believe it! It's gone by so fast!

Acrucifer ~ our party of 5 are in 2 CAT 5 staterooms on deck 7.

We just got back from 5 days at the Beach Club Villas. Weather was hot & sunny! Had a great time! But we came home to this dismal rainy, sunless, northeast weather... boo hoo! We are really going to get excited for the cruise now!

A CM said that Mission Space's soft opening is going to be mid to late August. So the ride should be hopefully - open, running and debugged by November - for anyone who is going to spend any time at WDW, before or after the cruise. The ride sounds incredible. They are going to simulate a launch- complete with the g force, weightlessness, etc...

We just received the "Can Do" Map of Cozumel that Minigolf Sally suggested. This map is truly awesome. I've never seen such a complete travel map! Well worth it if you haven't gotten one already!

~ Linda

We'll be celebrating 20+yrs on Oct 17. We'll need to do something at Palos to celebrate.

We are staying on the 7 floor. Not sure of the room number off the top of my head.

Disney was so much fun yesterday. It was crowded but not as crowded as I had expected.

I hope Mission to Space is open in November, since Jason agreed to extending our honeymoon so we could go to Epcot.

If anybody is going to Disney with little kids within the next month don't promise them they can ride Pooh. My nephew was all excited only to find out it is being refurbished. (not sure for how long).

I am also waiting patiently for the newsletter!!

Hi Diana...
We are directly across the hall from you in 6644 and our DS, Jeff & girlfriend Meg is next door in 6646...So if you need an occasional window, just knock...will be glad to share a verandah (maybe even a glass of wine) We have stayed on deck 7 aft on the last three cruises and it was always quiet so I expect deck 6 will be the same.
Like you, this is adults only...ha ha...that is only because we have reached the ripe age of having only a 26 year old child! Traveling with kids this age is a real pleasure...although he likes to claim he is the biggest and oldest kid on board! However, since your parents are along...that may make you the oldest kids on board!
Guess we'll see you guys often!

are you callin ME OLD??????????? ;) ;)  :p :p

has anyone thought of doing a wine tasting? Last year we all got together on deck 7's secret deck and met and drank lots of wine from different parts of the country. We ordered trays from room service and brought those (cheese, cookies, fruit). It was really nice. We did it on Sunday afternoon - oops, that's Key West! Maybe mimosas and bloody mary's Sunday morning?

Angela~ You were at WDW last week too! Wasn't the weather great! Crowds really thinned out after the Holiday. I couldn't believe they had 2 E ride nights in one week- what a treat!

Doing Epcot after the cruise will be great, as they will have the Food & Wine Festival going on- which is wonderful. Hopefully Misson Space will be up & running too. Epcot gets crowded on the weekend because of the festival, but it's worth it... If you stay at Yacht & Beach, it's a short walk to the International Gateway at Epcot. They have special dinners on the weekends during the festival that includes wines from around the world, etc... Watch the Disney website for details. You have to buy tickets ahead of time & they sell out quick. The festival will be a great ending to your trip!

:D

dianthus- This will be our 14th anniversary and the 9th that we have celebrated at WDW or on DCL in addition to our Honeymoon.
I also just received the Cozumel map and it looks great. Now if I could get one for Grand Cayman and Key West we will be all set.

Deck Roll Call:

Deck 8

I am at work and it is Monday morning so the brain is only half functioning but I believe were in cabin 8060.

Diana,

I love your wine tasting idea. We could all bring wine from our favorite local winery. We could have a blast.

I am more than willing to slave over a cheese tray ;) .

As I think you know, we are on deck 2 in Cabins 2122 and 2124 (recent move to connecting cabins).

Id love to come to the wine tasting too (not sure what Id be drinking). The secret deck 7 is right up the stairs from our room.

Dave - good job on the newsletter (again). Sooo when is the next one due out?

Boy, its hard to keep up with this thread !!! 18 pages and counting, and still five months to go..

Good morning fellow cruisers

I hope everyone liked the latest newsletter. Next one is scheduled for July 4th. Send me your favorite 4th of July story. Could be a favorite family trip over the holiday when you we're a little one, or the night Uncle Farris cought the trash can on fire with the fireworks, or the time dad burned the hamburgers on the bar-b-que and you had to go out for KFC, or the time Grandma's lost her bathing suit while swimming in the lake and wouldn't come, or ..... you get the picture. Also, I would like to recognize all are veterans (past and present) in this edition. So, if you ever served for our country please let me know when and what service. Also, if you have a Mom or Dad or other relative who you are proud of for serving our great nation let me know so I can recognize them also.

Definately count Alison & I in for the wine tasting. We are already in training. Working hard on our tolerance and endurance. By cruise time we should be up to a bottle each and still be able to see good enough to make it home with the right person. Of course, we just fall asleep when we get home but hey... the journey is half the fun.

We are on deck 6. Can't remember what room number. One with out a verandah. It was either a verandah or bring my MIL. Seems like I always make the wrong decision. Oh well, maybe next cruise.

Hi, Everyone!!!

I just reviewed the last 18 pages on this thread in order to catch-up. The last 6 months have been so busy for us that I've gotten away from the DisBoards. I started out so well...booking our 11/08/03 cruise 15 months in advance...and then we put the cruise in the back of our minds (although we have had a DCL screensaver on our computer since the day I booked).

Anyway, our oldest DD just turned 10 this past Saturday, and it made me think of the "Wish I was 10 Again" group. It's great to be back!! Only 5 more months to go!! It was so interesting reading all the posts. Wow - there are a lot of cruisers from Illinois. Small World - we used to live in Springfield,IL, my DH used to work in Jacksonville, we also used to live in Rochester, NY, and my DH grew up (and his family still lives) in Ohio!!

We still haven't booked our flights or any of our excursions, but school ends this Thursday for our 2 oldest DD's (10 yo and 9 yo). I promised them that we would get completely obsessive-compulsive about the cruise once summer vacation begins. Right now our youngest DD (almost 5 yo) is watching "House of Mouse" on the Disney Channel, and she talks about the cruise non-stop. Even my DH is getting excited about it (he thought I was a complete lunatic when I booked the cruise last August!!!)

Anyway, now that I'm "back on board," I'm looking forward to reading more about all of you. Over 100 of us already!! The wine tasting get-together is a must for us...and there are so many great excursion ideas! We can't wait !!
