My DW and DS had a great time. Also had DW's side of family with us. Took advantage of All Stars $49 Fla res rate for 2 nights then Wyndham Palms (The Palms Resort) for 5 days. The only crowd was Sat the 1st at Downtown Disney. We only used 3 FP's the whole time and probably did not need to do that! We saw MK, AK, Epcot, MGM, Sea World and took 2 down days touring the Disney Resorts decorations. We were most impressed with the new Coronado! Thats a lot of resort for a moderate. (The real downside was a grumpy sister in law. She is the type who wants to run the show and yet never wants to take the lead. On a number of occasions she started confrontations with family members by making rude, insulting comments just to spark controversy. She has done this in the past and I do not know why I thought this would be different. I thought some of the "magic" would rub off on her. Lesson learned! NEVER travel with grumpy SIL again!) We really liked the Windham Palms and would gladly stay there again. Over all a great trip!

I'm glad you had a good time. Thanks for posting. :)

Glad you had a wonderful vacation!

Glad to hear you had a great trip Zippitydooda! I'm new to the DIS boards too, and decided to wade in with a quick question for you, if you don't mind. We're going to be staying at the Wyndham Palms in March too, and I was just wondering if you could tell me what the resort was like, and also what the drive time was like to WDW from the resort (and if there were any shortcuts?)

I'd appreciate any help you could provide.

Many thanks,

The Wyndham Palms was a super place to stay! You will really like it. The drive is really easy and it probably takes 5 miniutes to get on Disney property so you will not need a short cut. The staff there is great and the pools are really warm. It was great for the kids because it has a little play area right next to the minature golf course which is right next to the "bike barn" which is next to the pool! They had some construction on Old Lake Wilson Rd which was no problem and should be complete by March. The "Wyndham" name was not on any of the property yet. This was a recent deal and may be in place by March so do not be confused by the confusion in the name. Right now the name out front is "The Palms Country Club and Resort". I usually like to stay in the resorts but I really am thinking about going this route from now on because of how comfortable it was to do laundry while my 2 yr old was watching his "Bob the Builder" video. Enjoy it and give us your opinion when you get back!

ESPECIALLY my Disney.......I too love the way Coronado looks......Thanks so much for the great report......

You had a great rate at All Stars. Did you have a car or did the Palms have a shuttle to the parks?

Too bad about the grumpy SIL. Other than that, wounds like you had a great trip. Thanks for telling us about it.
