11/30 Magic cruiser just changed reservation

Hello all.....well here I am again with a new spirit for the boards....we were on the 11/30 Magic sailing that got cancelled(boo!) but ended up on the Wonder for 4 nights..it was OK but not what we wanted...and we booked the Magic for 11/29/03.....a long time from now...so I got this brainstorm today to check out May 10th sailing of the Magic...which turned out to be the Western route instead of Eastern...a good thing since we have done eastern already....so we changed our ressie and booked the May 10th sailing....a category 6 with our 50% off cost me $1900.00...and they could not give me a cabin number....but they guaranteed me at least a category 6 and told me that we would be the first upgraded since we were on the 11/30 Magic that was cancelled....soooo....I have this smile on my face that I had the week before the last cruise.....and I cannot wait...and it is 4 months from now....anyone else out there on this cruise? Am I rambling or what? A little excited again I guess......

Hey guys....thanks for your kind words....as far as the health issue, I have just had a cath scan of my chest and lungs last Friday.....doctor got results on Monday and I still have the pnemonia and there are two abnormal area's in my right lung....so I have to wait a month and then have another cath scan and see what shakes out....but I am staying positive and just had to get back on the Magic...could not wait all that time....so we decided that on November 29th we will begin a week in Disney World this year instead of the cruise....but believe me....I am pumped......gonna start counting days tomorrow....again....thanks for all kind words and looking forward to chatting with you all!

Hi Tom - hope your health improves. Must be scary.

When we booked the 11/8 cruise we also changed from the Eastern to the Western. Up to cat 6 from cat 10 secret porthole.

That's great Tom, nothing like a cruise countdown !! We are still "negotiating" with DCL about the 11/30 cancelled cruise, although DVC has been much quicker to respond to our written inquiries. I have been told that DCL is "running behind" in their responses to some of the 11/30 cruisers... We will see what happens..

Mac: my agent just got my voucher yesterday from Disney. She isn't going to bother sending it to me, and will send it in herself. We are booked for November 15th... can't wait!

Here's hoping that your health improves quickly. I understand the need to want to get booked again quickly. When we sailed in October of 1999 we had to miss Castaway Cay due to the hurricane that went through and messed up the island a few weeks before. We booked a May 2000 cruise and loved it.

We are also booked on the May 10th Western Cruise. I know there is a thread here somewhere and there are quite a few people going and trying to organize a Dis meet. Hope to see you on board!

We where supposed to be on the nov 30 2002, we got onto the dec 7 2002 magic, we had a great time and booked for 2003 while on-board. Does anyone know if you still get to keep your room credit, gift and room discount if you deside to change the date or category of your reservation.

Sstancan...we changed our reservation last night and they just move everything...you get the credit and gift.....they even let you keep your origional reservation number...the only thing that changes is price......

Welcome back, Tom! You've been in my thoughts alot lately, so it so good to hear from you. And with such good news! A year is just way too long to wait for a cruise, IMHO.

I agree....a year is way to long and the way it happen really put a damper on things....we tried to stay positive but we had been waiting a full year for our cruise....best part of this is we are sailing on the western swing....although I don't know much about the stops along the way...and anyone who has done the western any tips about the places would be most appreciated....only 17 weeks from Saturday we will be one the magical vacation....we did not get a cabin number....we are guaranteed at least a category 6.....but they said that they are taking care of any cruisers that had there cruise cancelled on 11/30 with whatever upgrades they can...so we are hoping for a category 4....but 6 would be ok....any feedback is appreciated!
