11/29/16 Show...

I would like to encourage the consideration for rescheduling when possible instead of just canceling.

But the studio is IN PETE'S HOUSE. He wanted them all to stay away so the rest of the team wouldn't risk catching what he has right before the big cruise (which they will be on next week). So when exactly would they reschedule for? While his house is a germ factory or while they are away on the cruise (creating more content for us)?

Be well Pete! Thanks for all you do!

where did I say this show? now that the team has many full timers it seems plausible that there might be times when a show could be rescheduled instead of just canceled. Just putting a friendly thought in their direction that maybe they should consider if a show is possible to reschedule if they aren't already instead of jumping right to canceling it.
Really, it is nearly impossible to reschedule. John, Kevin, Corey, Julie, Steve, Kathy, and Teresa make the Tuesday show possible as it is by setting aside that specific time weekly. The rest of their week is dedicated to their actual jobs. The only people we have that are fully available to jump in the studio at any time are Ryno, Oliver and myself. The exception is when we pre-record shows, but even then that is a nightmare of scheduling.

The team doesn't owe us a live show when it doesn't work out to do a live show, whether it be for sickness, weather, or simply to tie up loose ends before heading out to Disneyland or an ABD trip or a podcast cruise.

The team DOES owe ITSELF the opportunity to heal up, rest up, and concentrate on the other aspects of the Dreams Unlimited business when necessary.

Rescheduling seems like a longshot, especially with everyone's already-busy schedules(and as I type this, @Teleclashter posts this very sentiment directly above).

But I do have a suggestion I hope they'll consider.....

Every few months, DIS'ers ask about certain episodes from the past....certain Pete rants, certain dining reviews, certain shows where Bob was being Bob, shows that went off the rails, etc.. I wonder if a list could be made of these classic DIS episodes, maybe 5-10 of them, and when a situation arises, such as this week, when a show isn't feasible, maybe post a "classic" DIS show instead. They'd have to make it ABUNDANTLY CLEAR that it's an old episode, but the best episodes are always worth a revisit. I've listened to some of Kevin and John's dining reviews 3-4 times each, for instance. They hold up.

Again, these would be used as a last resort, but many people start listening to the DIS every single month, and may have missed out on past fun.

Just my two cents.

Eh, I feel bad for Brian I think he's getting a little beat up. I think a few could have jumped on chat or the boards to visit for a bit, posted the "show notes" of the stories they were going to cover or done it ala the DL show/Walt show(so no germs) or ran a classic show.

I agree rescheduling isn't reasonable. I am just GRATEFUL Craig posted early. I have spent too much time looking for shows that should be up that are not. I am really trying to refrain, if it's not up, I figure oh well, maybe next week rather then chase it down.

Who's Brian?

I assume this was in reference to @Accident

I'm all for suggestions but see it as pretty hard to adjust on short notice. Sicknesses happen

Maybe we could just gather as a sticky on this thread links to past shows that people enjoyed so if you are needing a fix it would be there whenever you want (so basically @KingLlama 's idea but just as links in a post that is always there rather than something extra Craig has to do)

Yeah, sorry I was referring to @Accident.
I am guilty of reading and replying to too many conversations at once so got mixed up who was where.
Like I said they owe us nothing, but there has been some fun suggestions here of how they can make lemonade of canceling.

I usually use the time when a show is cancelled to watch older shows I have missed. Get well soon Pete. Stay well everyone! Have a fun and safe cruise everyone!:goodvibes

yeah i'm the bryan.

I'm not really sure where I said that this weeks should be rescheduled. Seems many are just quick to defend and not sure why defending was needed. It's just an observation that disunplugged is in a much different place than it was a year ago and maybe the idea of rescheduling when possible could happen some weeks it gets canceled. (please note the when possible, it doesn't mean this week can or any week can but maybe there are some weeks that could). This year had a lot of shows that might have been canceled in the past and the team has really improved for the better already. It also had a decent amount that got canceled. It's their show, company, etc, it doesn't really matter to me what happens or if they ever do another show. It's just a friendly comment that maybe they overlooked an option that might be available some weeks.

I too wish Pete quick recovery.

On the friendly advice note: I would think that canning a few Q&A episodes could be a possibility. There are enough items that don't change too often that you could fill a subset of episodes that sit on the shelf for these kinds of occasions. They don't even necessarily need to be round-table episodes. Basically packaging some on-location vlogs together could provide the filler for the empty void.

Thanks for all you guys do. I look forward to every episode put out and truly enjoy the variety and ability to fill every day with your quirky entertainment.

***Is it "sad" that I feel a void in missing an episode while I'm on vacation AT WDW. Sometimes I even make time during my vacations to watch the episodes so I don't feel 'left out' of the loop.

@Accident I didn't mean to come across that strongly in my reply, so my apologies. I've just seen instances in the past where a live show couldn't happen for various reasons, and some posters(and people on Facebook) seemed almost angry about it. That's where my reply came from. I don't lump you in with that crowd. Sorry about that.
