11-29-09 November 29, 2009 4 nite WONDER

I can't book anything since this will be my first cruise with DCL, so I would have to wait until next week. Anyway, DH and I have a "deal" that we will take a few years off big vacations after this. We did WDW in 2004, 2005, 2007, and 2008. Plus Hershey Park and Kings Island in 2006, and the cruise and Universal this year. Next year we will get season tickets to Cedar Point (1.5 hours away). After that, not sure - but a few years out, we want to do Beaches in Turks and Caicos, and a 7 night Caribbean cruise, which will be either Disney or Royal Caribbean (probably one of each)! Need to pay off some bills, first. :surfweb:

One thing I wanted was the Palo brunch, but we couldn't get it. Far as excursions go. We are just going to do our own walking tour of Nassau. My son graduates this year so want to find some good spots for his senior pictures. Other than that just kick back and have fun.

They do keep ressies for onboard booking so check as soon as get on the ship. If not just go the morning of and sometimes they will let you in.

Awesome, i will definitely try that. Thanks

I got the official OK from my DH to go ahead and participate in the FEs! He gave me a stern warning that I'm not to go overboard ;)

So we're in a Cat 12 gty. It'll be me, Grace, my husband Tine, and my two boys Holden (3.5 years old) and Elliot (who will be 7months at cruise time!).

We did not book any excursions, either. We also have the Exotic Rascul booked on Day 2 as well as Palo dinner for Day 3. I was bummed we didn't get a brunch reservation- but we'll try for one when we get on board.

I'd also love to get started on FE gifts- Is there a sort of deadline so we can get a finalized master list? I suppose I could always make extras just in case!

I have extra girl gifts, but not boy ones. I guess I have to go back to the store (darn.). :cool1:

Welcome!

Well, I managed to score the Palo brunch for our sea day at 10 AM. The problem is, I'm not sure if I want it! We hadn't planned on doing it (so much FREE food to eat). I don't know if it is worth paying for. Plus, we have 8 adults in our party, and I could only get a table for 5 or 6. So I scheduled the ladies, plus DH. Of course, he probably won't want to go with us, so I would end up paying $30 for just me to eat (unless, of course, I could change to a smaller table once onboard). I am assuming that capri pants and a decent top would be good for brunch - I know they won't want to dress up too much that early. I asked my mom if she wanted to do it, and she said she would if we wanted to. DSis and DMiL are at work, so I couldn't ask them. That's why I booked it - I figured I can cancel later if necessary.

What to do?!? I am just not sure, and opinions would be helpful. Friends on another board have basically told me DON'T miss it.

GO!Don't miss it! If your entire party wants to go they will fit you in if they don't have a bigger table. Check about the private room since it holds about 10-12 and really isn't private. If someone doesn't go we have never been charged. It is the 1 meal that I never miss!

Curious, how did you book it? Do you have to call because we are unable to do it online. Thanks

I did it online. When I clicked the button for Palo, it showed me the table sizes available for dinner and brunch. I didn't look at dinner, but for brunch it only showed "table for 5 or 6". When I selected that, it took me to the next page, where it showed that all that was available was 10 AM. It would not let me book until I selected 5 people (that's why I had to put DH on). Our 4 cabins are linked, with a total of 8 adults - I wonder if they would NOT show that option to a traveling party of less than 5 adults? Just a thought.

Can you check for another table for the others in your party? They will put the tables together for you if you ask.

Nice job! When i try it shows the brunch grayed out. My only option is dinner. I will keep trying though.

Hello everyone!

I found it funny, while looking at other discount cruises, this sailing showed up! Looks like it may be a less than full trip! I also noticed there was a cat 12 still available for booking with 2 adults.

Anyways, hope everyone is doing good and counting the days till we leave!

Our stateroom is still the price we paid. Of course, we booked it a year and a half ago!
I don't mind the ship not being full. Hopefully the kids won't have to fight for a spot in the pool.

Hi everyone, We just booked this cruise. We love seeing the ship and island decorated for Christmas! :goodvibes And we have to check out the changes after drydock.

It will be myself, DH, DD (21 months), DM, DGF (91 and still cruisin!), DMIL and DFIL.

I'll try catching up on this thread tonight.
