Quick question for the cooks here ... can homemade soup be canned? What about if it has meat or seafood in it? If you can can (ha!) soup, how long would it last? I'm not finding good information online about it.

I just posted this on the 2009 board... but...

We ended up taking a quick journey this weekend as I found out a good friends mom died after a long battle with cancer. It was a blessing as she was in a lot of pain near the end.

So we spent the weekend in the car! It's supposed to be beautiful (and already is) here today! 50 degrees. I think it's gonna make it a tad warmer as it was 44 already when I was driving in!

No... but I noticed a little more sneezin' going on yesterday among my family... so we may get the chance!! We've all been well for far to long!

Shell, I would say do not can soup or anything containing meat unless you use a pressure canner - not the old water bath style for sure. You're better off freezing it in zip lock bags.

I just wanted to say Hi. Im at the dome and we had a game that didn't go, so I thought I would stop by. Its in the upper 40's maybe lower 50's here, and we are SO enjoying it. Now if I didn't have to work. But tomorrow it should be in the 60's.

We are talking about coming out to Disneyland over the summer, anyone else in?
