Sometimes booking while on board can really save a lot, but it will depend on how much the cruise goes up in price by next November.
Sometimes it is better to book with the minimum deposit at the beginning rate. Then on your cruise the booking person will tell you how much it would cost for the cruise if you were to book on board with your room credit and 10% off.
If it is less, she will cancel your old reservation and rebook you at the lower rate. The money will just be tranfered over to the new reservation instead of being refunded if you request it.
But if the price has gone up a lot, it may be cheaper to keep your old reservation.
We have done this and it is almost always cheaper to keep the original booking. If not there is nothing to loose, because that far away there is no penalty to change to over.
Just keeping all your options open.
I know with us your thinking Florida resident rates, but that isnt offered all the time and you dont know until about 6 week before your cruise if you get them, so we always try to book the lowest price in case we dont get the discount on the trip.
So you might think about it before you decide or at least keep an eye on the price and it if starts going up in the next couple of months I would go ahead and book it. You can always change it on board if needed.
Just wanted to share our experiences on booking, I would hate for you guys to get cheated out of a thousand dollars or more!! I know it is hard to believe but I do think of you guys in a nice way once in awhile.

But I'll never admit it if asked in person!!
Good luck with your decisions.
