Just been a very busy day. Got up to 70 degrees today, so I mowed the lawn for the last time this year then we went Christmas shopping for the kids.

We got them one gift a piece, so that there will be something under the tree for them when we get back.

I feel like I forgot something or someone

Went and did a little shopping today. I bought three Christmas presents (hoping to have the majority of my Christmas gift-giving shopping done before we leave). DH, DD and myself are not giving one another gifts this year as we usually do. We decided that our cruise is going to be our gift to one another. We will get DD a few things but nothing like Christmas' in the past. Chat with you all tomorrow. Going over to my sister's house tomorrow (the sister that just got off the Magic). Can't wait to see her pictures and hear all about the great time they had!!

Even thought it was really tacky and in bad taste I have even seen a man in shorts and a plain white t-shirt in Lumiere's on formal night. He was about 60 and everyone else was dressed nicely in his family accept him. Nobody said a words to him.

Sorry, I have to chime in on this.

Just because some idiot thought it would be "cool" and "funny" to go to formal night in shorts and t-shirts as his sophmoric way of "rebelling against the man" doesn't make it right. You can find these people on the boards and they just think it's a riot to get other up in arms about their way of dressing.

I can guarantee that if we (and I mean the Woo Crew) see someone that offends us, you can be sure something will be said to the server, head server, F&B Officer and the captain if necessary. I'm paying wayyyyyyyyyyy too much money to let idiots "screw" with my major vacation of the year.

This is no different than kids in adults areas. Follow the rules, be respectful of others. If you can't, leave.

Kathy...I always wondered,do they serve the same food at the buffet that they are serving in the dining room?

It's not a buffet at Topsiders at night. It's a sit-down dinner. They use that time and place to train new servers and kitchen staff. A very nice experience, I must say.

Hi Joanna -- I do believe much of the food served in Topsiders @ night is the same as what is in the dining room. One major difference is that the salad bar is set up, so you can make your own salad.

The only downside is that it's getting more popular to eat there so it doesn't have the nice, quiet atmosphere it did a couple years ago.

I always have dressed for diner with dress pants and very formal dresses on the formal nights. This year I have bought a black fancy pants outfit and plan on just switching the top for semi formal. As for the other nights I will just put on a pair of black pants and depending on the shirt I wear that day just wear that. IM not going all out this trip .


For those that asked about me meeting Gov Palin I was not real excited to go . Unfortunately I'm one of those that have no idea whats going on with elections. I figured I would go and maybe I would be able to learn something.

Well I will tell you , this lady sure knows how to hold herself and speak. I was so impressed. She also wore these great high boots and a shorter skirt which I sure didn't expect. I would think they would of had her dressed more "proper" . I loved the outfit and kept thinking how I wish I could wear something like that. lol Made me feel like she was comfortable being her self and really believed in what she was saying. I'm not sure I'm a rally girl but so glad I did this .

Hey cmom! Were there lots of people at the rally yelling really mean stuff like they report on the news???

As far as the election goes, you're in luck -- there are still two weeks left before the election and you can go to each candidate's website to read his plans for the country.

There are also some fact-checking sites that tell you what lies and distortions each campaign makes. Perhaps ask.com can answer specific questions you may have????

I know it's a lot of work, it's the price we pay to be able to have the right to vote.

Amazingly Christiaan is from the USA so no luck on the accent. He is a really good cruise director though - very entertaining and a good sport. And he really seems to be everywhere. I think I saw him around the ship more than any Cruise Director except Andy.
