Jeff, I actually called DCL and asked "how" is the best way to book. They said to book as early as possible then when you get on the ship the sales rep will just rebook the cruise as you have already booked it. I guess they can suspend one booking and do the other. You can keep the same room and everything.

Thanks Dawn! That's great. Then it looks like I better get on the Med thread to see what other people are saying and get ready for booking next week! Yikes. It's almost like playing monopoly because I have no idea if we will be able to make it happen, but booking it next week will allow the dream to start. :cool1:

Now see how much more fun that top was. I didn't even realize we were close. :cool1:

I have heard great things about Maui, maybe I will have to try it, I'll stop and see Christine and Joey on my way back  so the trip isn't so brutal.
I mean LV is a great place to visit :goodvibes

Oh Jeff....it's JoannA, sorry I just HAD to say it, JoannE makes me

That was the first Bubba Gump restaurant we ever ate at--near that 100+ year old tree!

Ah yes, the famous Banyan Tree. Hate to say but last year when we were there, it was kind of "dicey" around the tree. Lots of suspect teenagers and some homeless people hanging out there. It was night time and while we weren't "scared" we didn't hang around either to eat our shave ice.

But wouldn't you be paying a higher price when they rebook you?

OMG I knew that. Thanks for correcting me though coz obviously it got into my head (or fingers) that it was joanne and I would have probably called you that until we disembarked. I beg your forgiveness! :worship:

OMG GregID ... THE "S'" WORD MAN! The little white flakey things that come from the sky! The original 4-letter word! The S-dash-dash-dash word!

And here I was thinking the magic word was "shakin'".....and I wasn't sure I wanted to know why you had issues with that one?! :rotfl2:

That's in Lahina. We ate at the Cheeseburger in Paradise there too.

The BEST cheeseburgers in the world -probably influenced by the view and the overall Maui feeling.

Our favorite of course is the Hula Grill. I could go there every single night. It's truly the most relaxing restaurant in the world. The sand in your toes, the Hawaiian music and Hula dancers. Best Mai Tai in the world. Heaven on earth.

Yeah, that's not our favorite place to hang out. We usually only go over there to go on a snorkeling cruise. We like to just stay in the Kaanapali area, unless we drive up to Kapalua and have brunch at the Plantation House:love:

See you got Jeff and I talking about Maui, we will hit 250 tonight:thumbsup2

Jeff,

I think I would book now and then book onboard. You can always get your deposit back. You can also call DU or All Seas and ask their input.

Barbados and St. Lucia were two of our favorite trips. The water was amazing. DH did resort scuba at both locations and the diving in St. Lucia was excellent. They let him go down more than the 20 ft. resort course and he loved it. He's been wanting to take the time go get his SCUBA certified ever since.

Haven't been to Maui - we're now waiting for the Magic to go there with the new DVC Hawaii opening up!:)

Later,
Gailyn

Of course, that's the best way to do Maui when you are coming from NY. When we took my Mom, she came here first.

Warning: Once you go to Maui, nothing will ever compare and you will be spoiled for life:love:

I'll be back in a little bit, going to get a WW ice cream chocolate fudge bar...You all MUST try them

:lmao: I could talk about Maui all night. We have never been to the Plantation House. Just read about it. Have you ever gone to Mama's Fish House? We have always wanted to but haven't yet.

If we go back anytime soon, we are going to do 3 islands. Oahu to see some of the history for a few days, then Kauai for the nature, then Maui because there is no way for us to go that far without going there.
