Hi everyone I was just wondering if anyone has ever done Disney at Thanksgiving before. We are looking to do a Thanksgiving Day dinner and we are looking for someplace to have it that will accommodate us all. I have a bunch of family coming in and I know I will need to make reservations but don't really know were would be good. Can anyone give us any suggestions?

If you call Disney Dining I think they can tell you what restaurants have special menus for Thanksgiving. However - 1800 Park Fare, Liberty Tree Tavern, Ohana, and Chef Mickeys might be good choices.

If you want higher end dining, I would try Yachtsman Steakhouse or California Grille.

The restaurant thread may also be a good place to check.

Have fun choosing. It's making me hungry just thinking about Thanksgiving!!

I just called today to try to make reservations for Tues - Thurs before the cruise and they told me no 1br or studio DVC accomodations were available I'm not sure whether to wait list and take my chances or just to fly down Friday and go straight to the Radisson!

Jen - regarding your cruise questions, when we last went on DCL DH did have to come to the Castaway Cay check in window I can't remember if the kids did or not. This was also in 2006 so maybe it just depended on your check in person??

I'd love to know more about the shipping place. I hadn't thought about needing space for fish extender gifts! I'll be lucky if I have room for all the shoes I "need" to bring!! Please pm me if you have a chance.

Thanks for the advice, I will call around to a few of those places. Good luck with whatever you choose for your hotel stay. I would be afraid to take my chances. Isn't it great making to worry about all these things???? That just means the Cruise is coming sooner.

Last 3 cruises we did one person took the passports to check in. we didnt need anyone else, just one to check all in.
If someone returns a rental car they only need their drivers license to get into the terminal, so you can take their passport to check them in.

was that what you were asking? I wasnt really sure.

Good Morning, Everybody!

In my experience, You should reserve your Thanksgiving dinner soon - they even open the convention centers for dinner since the traditional places all sell out. We've been there a couple times for Thanksgiving. Once we cooked in our villa - wonderful, but never again - they really aren't equipped for that, and in 2006, we ate at Boma.

This year, I didn't get any ressies, because we'll probably be on the road, driving down from NY. Definitely want to get to the Radisson in time for the PARTY.

Now I also have two cruise related questions...I am on eastern time, having my cruise payed in full by Aug 31 what time can I book my excursions? I know this question was addressed I just wasnt exactly clear on the answer.

Jen, it will be at midnight Eastern time. Now, what I just thought about and what we might need official clarification on is whether or not that is Midnight August 30 (since that is techincally the beginning of August 31), which I think is the case.

and respect her answer but just wanted to know if anyone ever tried to beat the check in system at DCL and brought all their parties passports to check in with out actually having one of the adult members: as they were at the car rental place...I remember when we cruised in 2006, I was the only one whO went to the window and the CM never asked to see any of the other people in my party...Just thought it would be easier for only one of us to return the car...Anyone have success with tHIS method???? Trying to get our game plan...THANKS

It is jus DW and I when we cruise, but she was able to check both of us in and get my KTW card while I took the car back to the hotel and took a shuttle back to the terminal.

Tonight I thought he was acting weird. We had made plans to meet at a bar to have a drink. I was shopping with my friends all day long, so I thought he was upset at the fact that I was a bit late, but he made no comment. Conversation wasn't flowing so I suggested that we go somewhere quiet so we could talk. He agreed but he kept quiet and absent. I asked him what was wrong; he said nothing. I asked him if it was my fault that he was upset. He said it had nothing to do with me and not to worry.On the way home I told him that I loved him, he simply smiled and kept driving. I can't explain his behavior. I don't know why he didn't say I love you too. My heart just sank. When we got home I felt as if I had lost him, as if he wanted nothing to do with me anymore. He just sat there and watched T.V. He seemed distant and absent.Finally, I decided to go to bed. About 10 minutes later he came to bed, and to my surprise he responded to my caress and we made love, but I still felt that he was distracted and his thoughts were somewhere else. He fell asleep - I cried. I don't know what to do. I'm almost sure that his thoughts are with someone else. My life is a disaster.

My understanding was that Thanksgiving is full--both rooms and dining, but there will always be cancellations so keep trying if you don't first succeed! Dining opened up in May. Last year they also had Thanksgiving dinner at the resorts and they even opened Cosmic Ray's.
