Some comments on Kathy's Great Tips

5 check in at kids club table while waiting to board ship. saves you time on the ship.
This is the only one I disagree with. We have always gone and stood in that LONG line at the Terminal for check in and then when we go to the kids club the first time, we see a bunch of counselors ready to check kids in and get the pagers and it literally takes a minute. From now on, we'll check in at the club unless the line is super short in the terminal

18 dont ,miss the good bye late the last night in the atrium. ALL the characters will line up on the stairs and will pose for photos for you. This farwell party is really nice and fun.
This is one of our favorites too. It's so sentimental but such a nice "ending" to the cruise

19 check for photos everyday at shutters. buy a package deal and save $$ if you dont buy enough photos for the package deal they will refund you the difference at the end of your cruise .
or if you buy a photo and then decide the next day you see one you want more, just bring back the one you bought and the receipt and tell them you want to exchange it and they will be happy to do this for you.
We never seem to do a good job of this but hopefully will do so this year.

22. If you need to change dining times or make a Palos reservation go to Wave Bands club directly upon boarding to take care of this. The sooner you do it the better your chances of getting what you want.
Agreed. We have changed our dining rotation, gotten Palo reservations and changed Palo reservation times during this period. Even if the line looks long, don't worry because it really moves fast

24 Afternoon matinees of the shows are great to see. They are the exact same show, they leave out nothing but it is less crowded and kids arnt as tired, plus it makes for a more leisurely evening. No need to rush to or from the shows due to your dinner time.
Love Love Love the matinees because it really does free up your evening. If we do the matinee and the kids want to go to the club after dinner, we all of a sudden have a lot of adult time. If the kids don't, then we do all the family friendly stuff in Studio Sea. It's a win win all the time

Kathy did you hear no more Banana boat rides :confused3 :sad2:

No I havnt heard that. they were going 4 months ago on our 3 day cruise.
They are very popular. I cant imagine them stopping them, unless the vendor who runs it quit and they have to hire soemone else. that happened with the parasailing once.

I read that was what happened. The vendor stopped doing them. So we shall see if they find someone new by November.

Bob - the other way to get real close to the Flying Dutchman is by Parasailing. The boat takes you by it a couple of times and then you fly right above it!

Fish Extenders...

Where do we get them, Or am I going to force my Wife and kids to make one...

That is a great idea.

Our last cruise I was the one that made all the magnets. Walked all over the ship to put them on everyone's door. You all have no idea how large the ship is when you go from deck to deck down every hallway...

You can PM Dawn about pre made ones. She is at the zoo this morning but will be home soon.

It is a fun family project to make your own. I dont sew at all. I hate sewing byt I bought some disney themed material and made my own using fabric glue and some 3-D stickers to decorate each posket from the craft store.
Minie is packed in storage right now so I will probably have to make a new one this time.

If I can do it , anyone can do it!! Kids seem to like to have their names on the pockets or at least their initials.

  • Have dinner ready. Plan ahead, even the night before, to have a delicious meal ready on time for his return. This is a way of letting him know that you have been thinking about him and are concerned about his needs. Most men are hungry when they come home and the prospect of a good meal (especially his favourite dish) is part of the warm welcome needed.
  • Prepare yourself. Take 15 minutes to rest so you'll be refreshed when he arrives. Touch up your make-up, put a ribbon in your hair and be fresh-looking. He has just been with a lot of work-weary people.
  • Be a little gay and a little more interesting for him. His boring day may need a lift and it is one of your duties is to provide it.
  • Clear away the clutter. Make one last trip through the main part of the house just before your husband arrives. Run a dust cloth over the tables.
  • Over the cooler months of the year you should prepare and light a fire for him to unwind by. Your husband will feel he has reached a haven of rest and order, and it will give you a lift too. After all, catering for his comfort will provide you with immense personal satisfaction.
  • Minimize all noise. At the time of his arrival, eliminate all noise of the washer, dryer or vacuum. Encourage the children to be quiet.
  • Be happy to see him.
  • Greet him with a warm smile and show sincerity in your desire to please him.
  • Listen to him. You may have a dozen important things to tell him, but the moment of his arrival is not the time. Let him talk first - remember, his topics of conversation are more important than yours.
  • Make the evening his. Never complain if he comes home late or goes out to dinner or other places of entertainment without you. Instead, try to understand his world of strain and pressure and his very real need to be at home and relax.
  • Your goal: To try and make sure your home is a place of peace, order, and tranquillity where your husband can renew himself in body and spirit.
  • Don't greet him with complaints and problems.
  • Make him comfortable. Have him lean back in a comfortable chair or have him lie down in the bedroom. Have a cool or warm drink ready for him.
  • Arrange his pillow and offer to take off his shoes. Speak in a low, soothing and pleasant voice.
  • Don't ask him questions about his actions or question his judgment or integrity. Remember, he is the master of the house and as such will always exercise his will with fairness and truthfulness. You have no right to question him.
  • A good wife always knows her place.

Bob
Surely you have a photo that can compete favorably with that one!

Jeff, I have access to MULTIPLE retaliatory photographs, but a true friend would never do such a thing!:lmao:
