Joanna: We get new people every year that no one has met yet. Greg (if he ever gets his butt back here and posts) is a "newbie" Nana Head this year. Also Danielle and Sherri, and a few more that haven't posted a lot but are still part of the group regardless. As we get closer to sail date, we'll get more and more people joining us ... happens every year.

The thing is, once you're a Nana Head, well, there's no getting out of it EVER (and God knows, some have tried ) !!!

Ya mean I can get out I actually wasn't going to sail with them this year because I had a cruise booked with my sister...yeah I cancelled that and here I am again...6 months away from sailin' with the Nana's

I can give you an update on our god child from 2006. Anika is even more beautiful and grown another 4 inches taller. They just got back from a 4 night cruise and the Mama went down with pneumonia (are we related?) Other than that, all is well. Does not appear that there is any step papa in view- (it's been almost two years since her daddy passed) - are the men in Texas blind?

Is there anyone on this thread who is from the Magic's Western Inaugural or the 10 day Magic hurricane cruise in 2004? C'mon I need an ally. Just kidding. I know how it is when you get carried away because you know each other, it happens...We've had people come on our thread and actually leave, sad isn't it because they thought we knew each other, but has everyone on this thread cruised together or are there more people like me, who will be sailing with you Monkeys for the first time?

You would absolutely be invited to the web site to view the public portion of the content. Heck, we might even use it draw you in to our little cult....er, I mean, bunch. Yeah, that's it!

I would have to say that the majority of the people who post on here have been on at least one cruise with a portion of the other people. There are some, like WooGal/Mutt, momx4grandmax4, who have been on both the 2006 and 2007 NanaHead cruise. There are others of us who have been on one of the two (DW and I were on the 2006).

And, yes, we have formed more than a travel companion friendship. It is not unusual for those within our folds to receive calls, cards, presents for children having birthdays, presents for our birthday, etc. (you get the picture). There are those of us, as JD99 has indicated, who will go out of our way when another Nana is near our city, just to see their smiling faces again.

We have comforted each other through divorce, death, job issues and personal issues. We have celebrated with each other through promotions, births, divorces , children's recitals, etc. It is pretty cool to say that I have friends all over this country, some of which I have never met face to face.

Sounds a little strange, I know. I was one of the skeptics of whether anything would have carried past the Saturday we got off the boat. But, you know what, I am meeting several from this group in Gatlinburg in 5 weeks for the July 4th weekend, and I am quite excited about it!

Joanna, you're taking us waaaaayyyyy too serious. Just book the dog-gone thing and jump in. In the few years I've been "nanaheaded" I've never seen anyone shunned or made to feel like an outsider. Greg is new to our group, Marie is too.... Others have sailed on the first nanahead cruise but not the second and are returning for the 08. Some of the sturdier breed have endured us all the way through. We picked up a ton of new folks last year and they've all been like family ever since.

Just book and we promise to play nice. (just you hush, Kathy....we need the recruits)....shhhh shhhh....

Hi everyone-Just a quick update on my FIL. After many tests, they think it is Indigestion and gas Yesterday he had some really hot sauce that my dear MIL bought him. They think that in combination with what he ate did it. Thanks for the prayers! We are glad it was nothing serious.

OK I go to work and do a jewlery party and WHAMM-O There are 3 pages to catch up on.

We will be making our decision by Friday for sure. I have to call DCL because they booked this cruise while I was on board the Wonder in April BUT I haven't been charged the deposit yet. I am hoping they booked it, because I got 10% off and a $200 onboard credit. There are a few obstacles in the way. DD will be a senior, DD who will be an 8th grader will be in all honor classes, the teachers have no pity for vacationers but in all honesty I'm tired of paying the premium prices to cruise during breaks. Plus our friends will be sailing on this cruise so that even sweetens the pot and the thought that my niece (who is 34) couldn't say Aunt Joanna as a baby and ALWAYS called me NANA even until this day!!! How fitting And to think I will be a TRUE NANA

I am doing research into the web site right now. Next question is who to get to host the web site so that it will be economical, but allow us all the features we need. I will keep you all posted!
