Joanna-We soon will be in that situation too . My kids will be in 4th and 7th grade when we cruise this year. It is getting harder and harder to take them out of school. Our school really frowns upon taking them out. I think this year I will try to get my kids to get their home work done on that Wednesday and Thursday before the cruise. They have no school those 2 days. I do think it is really important to go on family vacations and you are right it is so expensive during the time the kids have off. We hope you can join us

Jeff, we need to watch you, you're just getting too many top of the pages lately, Dawn too.
same old thing around here today. Cloudy, sprinkles, playing nurse to Minnie all day. Vet has given up on keeping stitches and staples to hold her wound together, so just keeping a watch for infection and bleeding, hoping it will scab over and heal that way. she does have 2 stitches and one staple left to have removed a week from saturday, unless they come out before then.

she stillhas a lot of pain due to the wound being partially open, we are suppose to limit her activity, boy try to do that with a large active dog, but after any walking you can see she is hurting.

will try to check back during lunch time to see who is around.

Joanna, PLEASE come along with us, you wont be sorry, we love new victums, oops I mean friends Honestly we would love to have you join us!!

See, if you females would learn how to pack, you wouldn't have to worry about this stuff a week out! I packed for a one month trip to Europe the night before I left, while closing on the sale of a house, and purchasing a new cell phone as well. Ya'll just need to step it up a notch!

I was just checking my e-mails after being gone for a week. I received one from DCL asking if I wanted to upgrade cabins to a verandah?

Is it safe to have a verandah with kids as young as mine? The whole idea makes me a little nervous?!

Definitely not a problem Greg. The ONLY thing that you have to watch out for is that they don't move the chairs over to the rail and stand up there. As long as you are there with them it shouldn't be a problem. We were worried too on our first cruise but never found it to be a problem. Are they giving it to you for free? That'd be awesome.

I really can't help you since I have no kids but it's pretty hard to open the doors plus I think there is a safey lock up high on it.

Christine is right. Opening the door is a challenge for adults. For kids it's pretty much impossible.

I hated those verandah doors. Its funny though....if you think hard you can actually feel the door handle in your hand. One of those lil residual memories that keeps hanging around.

Btw....everyones ticker is at the 6 month mark....Wooooo Hooooo. I had to change the dry erase board at work and received a collective moan "oh, brother....here we go again".
