You are going to have so much fun. Please take lots of pictures...this is your first time staying at GF right? You will love it. There is a really great view of the fireworks by the snack shop. I enjoyed watching them for there than actually being in the park...a lot less people.

Yep. First time at GF and the whole family is so excited. After canceling Disney twice, we are all missing the mouse. Any building you would recommend I request? I have Sago Cay on my list because I read on the GF thread that it was always a nonsmoking building and that there are a number of lagoon view rooms priced as garden view (which is what we have).

We have dinner reservations at Narcooses one night and were timed just right for the fireworks UNTIL we realized that it was the night of the Pirate & Princess party which we wanted to attend. So we had to move the reservations earlier.

I actually need to pull out my planning documents because I think we need to try to adjust one other reservation. It's late now. Memorial Day weekend so I doubt that I can, but I have to give it a shot.

We first time we stayed in Conch Key and had the most amazing view of the magic kingdom. I think they upgraded us because we had two balconies that over looked the lagoon and we only paid for a standard room. The second time we stayed in the main building (again upgrade because I knew someone) I actually wasn't that crazy about staying in the main building as I thought I would be because the property is so pretty and you don't really need leave the main building if you are staying there. However, I did love me some concierge service.

We also ate at Narcooses but I really don't remember to much about it, since it was 14 years

sorry Okie...the Woo made the Nanahead cake. I did the other. We only took the first set of classes but I've heard the next two are cool. You guys will love them. I will give you one heads up. Sooner or later, you'll be asked to do fondant... DO NOT use the Wilton brand, it's nearly inedible. I can give you names when you're at that point for better brands. Personally I hate the stuff and would rather use frosting/icing techniques.

So...Shell has been hiding her hidden cake decorating talents huh?

I love watching the cake contests on the food network-they all use the fondant--I don't think I have ever even tasted it-bad huh?? If the class is a Wilton class I'll have to use it in the class but would love to know a better one-that is if Chelsea or I have any kind of a talent-I probably won't but my Chelsea girl will I'm sure......

As many times as I have worked with fondant and gum paste I have never tried to eat it. Fondant is much easier to use than icing...see

and I have never taken a class (just followed Wilton instructions)...sorry couldn't resist...all this talk about decorating cakes I had to post this again...I am just so proud of it .

Sucks that the kids have all the talent and the rest of us have to muddle through life the best we can, doesn't it?
