The kids would be very unhappy or Mina?

I'm sure if you and Mina really wanted to go you would since the kids are still young. I tell Mitch, if we want to do it this is the year because Samantha enters HS in September, and unless we 'had' to move I wouldn't want to uproot her.

No Mina doesn't have anything that ties her here anymore now that her mom is gone. Really it's mostly about Elizabeth and the way she is thriving at school, in swimming and dance. It'd be a lot of work and worry to replace all that just so dad can be warm year round. LOL. Pittsburgh (and the community we live in particularly) is one of the best places around to raise kids so we don't want to mess with that. They will be grown before we know it and then we can do all those selfish things then.

Evening everyone,

well I was watching the news and they said an AA MD80 out of Portland had an engine blow up so it did an emergency landing in Eugene. Eugene is close to us and their airport isnt equipped for larger planes, so it was a miracle all went well. The people then got put on another airlines plane since AA doesnt fly out of Eugene. They were flown back to Portland to board another plane to start over again. That is the same plane and airlines we used to come out to Florida for the cruise.
Then 10 minutes later the news was saying how birds hitting the engines of another airplane caused it to need to return to JFK I believe but the pilot couldnt make it so he did a water landing in the Hudson river. Everyone got out ok, but they were standing on the wings in the water waiting to be picked up. Man that would of been cold and scary!!

Fortunately there was a water taxi near by and within a couple of minutes people were loading onto it.
The guardain angels were sure busy today!! No serious injuries there either.

I am so glad I am not booked on an airplane right now. I would be extra nervous ad I hate flying as it is.

well it looks like everyone has turned in early tonight, so I will say good night too.
I am adding photos to my Facebook tonight to keep busy while waiting for Greg to get home. He had no idea when he will get home after the meeting.
He will call when he starts home and its an hour and 15 miutes from here. Its 7:40 and No call yet. Looks like he will really be late tonight!!!

I need a vacation BAD! The temperature is currently at -2F degrees wind chill at -12F degrees. We started out at -12F degree wind chill -23F when I got up! Snowed another couple of inches of the white stuff overnight. All the schools are closed in the area today too!

Sorry I haven't been posting--but I have been lurking. I have cabin fever real bad!

Doesn't sound like everyone is doing that much either--just dealing with the weather and real life.

Jeff, all I can say is RUN! Do it before your girls get in the higher grades! Then, they'll marry in the area and have grandbabies and then you'll never get out of the cold!

Joanna, are you going to try and move to the Carolina's before Samantha graduates?

The sun has come out this afternoon Its still cool out but it looks alot nicer and more cheerful when the sun is out.

I have steaks in the slow cooker today for dinner. They are starting to smell very good!!

Looks like I will get to be at a mini meet this summer at WDW to meet some people on our 2010 cruise. It feels so strange to not know most of the people posting.
I know a few people who are going but nothing like the nanahead cruises.

Linda & Bruce are going and Athene from the 06 nanahead cruise and Tom & Marilou from 06 & 08 nanahead cruise. Also 2 people i met on 3 day cruises..

I still feel like a stranger on the board for that cruise. Although they are very nice people.

I need more nanaheads to join us!!!
I need to win a few millions in the lottery so I can take everyone with us

I would too!!

Trouble is I am too cheap to play the lottery Guess I will have to invest a dollar now and then.

Actually he probably lives fairly close to us. A lot of Gregs work is in Eugene and the surrounding area.

Carol, our travel agent from our Nana cruise just got us upgraded to two connecting suites on our 9 day NCL cruise for less then I was paying for the ocean view cabins we had.

Going to try for the penthouse tomorrow!
