Good Morning everyone!

How cool is Goofy! As Crush would say "Aawweessoommee man!"

Have accomplish most of my must do list already this morning. I'm really trying to get out to the pool. Possibility of popup rain/storms today. Suns out right now.

Kathy, did you get the jelly?

I'll be back on later. Elizabeth is coming over after nap for a while to play with me. I might let the boys play too.

Howdy all,

Dawn, the jelly wasnt there yet, but I can tell you from past experience the Salem post office is always slow about stuff. My DD will tell me when it has arrived. I will be going back for our mail in 2 weeks and i know it will be there then. I will let you know when it has arrived, thanks:thumbsup2

Greg, you better not bet money on Chuck getting the top, Dawn and I are pretty competitive and sneaky!

Chuck, love Goofy!! he and Donald are my favorites. all my Disney clothes have those 2 on them.

Kathy

We have not yet booked this cruise but you guys look like a lot of fun. We have done all except the Western and want to try it out of hurricane season after last December's mess.

What are the Nana's?

forgot to say, we have lots of clouds today but it is about 70 which is very pleasant. Suppose to hit 80 and yesterday was 85.

Time to put the wash in the dryer and go get some propane.

later,

Kathy

Howdy, with a name like SEA SICK PSYCHO you will fit right in:rotfl2:
Ok, back in 06 several of us on a thread like this had a meet the first day on the ship after posting for over a year. we all got along great and have cruised together in 06,07 and are going in 08 and then this cruise in 09.
Now one of these crazy people who calls himself Mutt (AKA Bill) started posting crazy    with his signature.

These were not ordinairy bananas, they were doing wierd things or fluroscent colors, just hilarious stuff. soon we all were hooked and were looking for similar bananas to post. Then on the cruise a bananahead magnet appeared on all our doors and it just took off from that.

So we call ourselves the bananaheads.

Of course each cruise we add more victums, I mean friends to our crazy group. Once you get to know us, you'll find us an a APEELING group:lmao:

You see what kind of humor and crazyness you'll be in for.
On this thread we have a couple new nanheads and we would love to add you to our bunch(sorry I just cant help myself)

after the 08 cruise is over at the end of November there is a large group of nanaheads that will join us here. There are just a few of us here holding down the thread until they join us. Dawn and I and possibly Greg are all going on the 08 and this one.:thumbsup2

This will be our 18th DCL cruise and the 4th with the bananaheads.

we always have a few optional events for everyone.
here is kind of what to expect from this group.

FUN, CRAZINESS, FRIENDLINESS, CARING ABOUT EVERYONE AND THEIR FAMILIES, LOVE TO CRUISE AND LOVE DISNEY.LOTS OF TEASING!!

first day we have a meet in the promenade lounge at 2:45, we take a group photo and share with each other.get aquainted time!!

we have a graphic designer who desings a bananhead T-shirt and for those who opt to buy one, (not from him, but from a company, he makes NO money) we all wear them the first day as we arrive and until we change for dinner the first night.

Due to the shirts many of us meet in the terminal and chat while waiting to board. It is so fun to wait and watch for a shirt to arrive to see who it is!!::yes::
we wear them to the meet too for the photo.

Other guests always comment what a big family we must be. they dont understand when we say we arnt related and haven ever met some of these people:lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Ok during the meet for those who want to, it is not required, just for fun, we do a gift exchange. it is ONE per family, $10 limit and it must be something that represents the state you are from
we get some crazy stuff. If you bring a gift you will receive a gift.

Many of us link our dinner reservations so we know the people we sit with.everyone is welcome to do this, we have people to take care of the arrangements .

Ladies usually have a ladies only meet one sea day for an hour or 2 for drinks and chit chat, again everything is just for fun and totally optional.

Shell (AKA woogal) always makes a cruise mates list for all of us and sends it out to all of us so we can keep track of each other.
we include our names, room number, photo, dining time, any special occassions we may be celebrating, how many cruises we have been on etc..

all the info about the meets and such are at the bottom of the list.

Ok, we also do the fish extender gifts. if you put out a fish extender we will all have alist of the room participating, then if you have an extender out for a gift, you must gift everyone else with one a gift sometime during the trip.

This is something everyone loves to do, so often the gift is a handful of hersheys kisses or disney themed pencils for kids, disney stickers, party favor type things, pirate eye patches, fruit snacks, just any inexpensive thing you can find. Kids love coming back to the room and checking to see if anyone has been there to leave something while they were gone.:woohoo:

I usually leave something small, 2 times during the cruise instead of all at once, that way people find something twice;)
Last time we played a tag game too. it was a magnet that when it was left on your door, you signed the back and left it on someone elses door from the group (room numbers are provided) and they do the same. we see how many times we can go all the way through the group on the cruise.

we are always looking for more ideas for fun.

we all go do our own things on the ship but often see each other around. some do excusions together, others just happen to book the same one. It is nice to see a familiar face around.

so if your looking for a fun active group, but we dont make you feel bad if you dont want to particiapate in events, we are the group your looking for.

Lots of kids of all ages too.

Hope that answered your question,
I hope you will join us:goodvibes

Perfect! This does sound like the cruise for us. We played secret santa last December with the 30 foot waves.:thumbsup2 I will book while we are on our cruise in October.

Is this a fun cruise? We have done the double dip and like Mexico.

Can't wait to make this official.

The thread for the cruise we are going on in October is dead. I thought it would be fun since we are going over Halloween. Oh well.

PLEASE dont wait until you officially book to start posting, just jump right in.
Our group is small for now, but after the 08 there are a huge group of people will will be posting, this will NOT be a dead thread like your other cruise, guarateed.
Even the few of us do 2 or 3 pages a day many times.

we sort of have a competition to see who will be at the top of the new page.;)

we dont have a cruise list yet, but the first of december Shell will be here and will do the list for us.

Ok, i will be first to introduce myself to you.

I am Kathy, DH is Greg and as I stated this will be our 18th DCL cruise.
Kids are grown. we have 4 of them and 4 grandkids who sometimes come along. I am retired, DH works construction.

I am kind of known as the Cruise mom around here due to how many cruises I have been on. it is my job to keep after people to POST!! If you look at my signature you will see a whip.

That is what people get if they dont post enough:rolleyes1
Just ask the others, I am a very mean old granny:rotfl2: :rotfl2:

since the kids are grown we have 2 4 legged kids now.Minnie and Pixie.
we recently moved from Florida to Oregon due to jobs. we still own a home in Florida and it is our legal residence, so we can get Florida residents discounts when they offer them:goodvibes

Now please tell us your names so we dont just call you Psycho:lmao:

Of course its a fun cruise, your with the bananaheads:rotfl2:

Key West is a really great place. If you like to snorkel, they have some of the best in the world. If you just want to explore KW you can walk to anything they have to see. The farthest place is the marker for the southern most point about 1 miles away from the ship. I love this place.
we have doene2 western cruises. One DCL and 1 Carnival (Big mistake)

Grand caymen has lots of great water excursions but as for the island itself w edidnt care too much for it. Too modern for us. we like the tropical island feel. The palce called Hell was interesting but you see it all in 5 minutes. although it was fun to buy a postcard there and mail it from their post office right next door so people got a postcard, with a post mark dated from Hell:rotfl2: also saw aturtle farm which was under construction, so not sure hopw it is now. They do have a couple beautiful beaches if you want a beach day.
Cozumel is a great place and wonderful shopping. I cant remember what we did there, I think it was a dune buggy ride excursion, it was a blast!! we have done Mayan ruins there too. I will have to go back and look and see what we did. I have doen so many cruises they all run together sometimes.:faint:

I told you I was old, my mind doesnt work so good sometimes, as you can tell my my spelling:lmao:
The only thing I dont like is on Mexican excursions is they want you to pay to use your cam corder:eek: I think that is a cheap deal.

But I do know both times we went it was a great trip. One island our DD and grandkids did a horse back tour and thought it was awesome. after the ride they had a huge pool and slides and lunch at the ranch. I will have to ask her where that was?
because we have also done Costa Maya on our first western becaus eCozumel was closed after the hurricane came through.

I'm sure you'll find plenty of fun on the islands and you will have a real blast on the ship because everywhere you go, there will be afellow bananahead there:thumbsup2 we are such a big group you always have friends close by.

Greg is off camping, Dawn is enjoying her pool, not sure about the others, but Sunday is our slowest day for posts, but they will be happy to see you when they return.
Watch out for Chuck and Greg, they are sneaky and try for the top of the page just to beat the ladies.
Of course at this point I dont know if your a man or woman.

well I am off to watch amovie.

catch you later,
please let us know your name , although Psycho sound pretty good to me:rotfl2:
It fits rightin with this group:goodvibes

Okay, there will be six of us.

myself: the original Seasick Psycho, Renee
DH: Kelly
DD: Ava Grace
DS: Helmut
DD: Rebekah
My Mom: Gail
Maybe my brother: Jason (he's in Alaska fishing this week)

We have only done Disney cruises and this will be our fourth. We are AFRAID to try other cruise lines. We do want to go to Alaska next year. Any suggestions.

Also, do you know when DCL will release the 2010 dates and iteneraries?

Hey everyone! Great Sunday!

:wave2: Welcome Sea Sick Psycho! Is there a story behind the name?! Hi, Renee and family! I'm the Dawn that Kathy mentioned I travel with my two grandsons Skylar and Christian.

Kathy, You were right we spent alot of time at the pool and I played with Elizabeth (my granddaughter) for about 3 hours. :lovestruc

Going to head over to my daughter Stephanie's for a little bit to work on my scrapbook. A "bunch" of us Nanaheads are meeting in Gatlinburg over the 4th of July! I want to take it with me!

If I can have the computer, I'll check back later.

Hi Renee,
good to know everyones names:thumbsup2

I dont think the 2010 dates will be released until mid 2009, maybe alittle sooner. But with the new ships coming soon after they know people will want to wait to go on the new ones, so hopefully will run some special on the 09 and 10 cruises.

I dont have any idea when, but I do think DCL will eventually do an Alaskan cruise, but they need a special plating on the front of their hull for all the ice in the water before they can do that.

we want to do Alaska too and would love to do it with Disney.

I have friends who have done Alaskan cruises many times, they loved them, but not much to do on the ship itself.
Nice views and Library, they also watched movies in their room.
They didnt have a theater and no shows in the evenings either. They love to read and relax so they were ok with it.
But I would be bored. I dont know which ship they were on?

The excursions are extremely expensive but they are really great.

My son did his honeymoon in a small cabin on a lake near Anchorage Alaska and loved it.

If enough people continue to send their wishes of DCL going to Alaska I 'm sure they will try to do it. Seattle is the only port they could really use and it may be booked up. I know some places you have to apply years in advance to get a day you can be in port.

if I read anything about DCL doing this, I will let you know.
I am off to watch a movie this evening and will try to check back once more before bedtime.

kathy

I know I am going to like this group!

Any of you ever cruised over a holiday such as July 4th or Halloween? WE are cruising over Halloween this year. I wonder if there is extra holiday stuff?

Hi Renee!
Welcome!!:cool1: :cool1:
I am Melanie and will be cruising with DH Chris and Alex who will be 6 1/2 when we cruise and Jackson who will be 3 1/2.

This will be our 3rd Disney cruise. I have also cruised Carnival and RCCL. If you are looking for a good Alaska cruise and Disney doesn't go I'd recommend RCCL as we enjoyed our cruise with them.

How old is your DD?

Morning Everyone!
Well... I tried to post last night but the boards were REALLLLY slow!! And I just don't have that kind of time. So I saved my comments for this morning.:rotfl2: Here they are:

Chuck- So sorry to hear about your puppy... I hope she isn't in a lot of pain?

Kathy, Dawn & Jaime- We did try Topsiders one of the nights on our cruise. Just the 2 of us. It was a little faster but our waiter was kinda slow!

Well... I have to go as it's Monday and somebody's in a toot around here;)

Good Morning 09ers....I have been defunct in my postings this weekend. Busy working on the house. Bracing myself for the whip from Kathy....:)

Our new carpenter is doing a good job with the windows. He should be finished tomorrow if the weather holds up.

The boss is out today which means she won't be pushing her work on me, so I should have a normal work day....

Chuck :goofy:
