Good Morning All!

Checking in!

Denise we are waiting on an update? Geez, you'd think she put us as her first priority!

Stephanie and I are having a garage sale on Friday. Busy doing that. This afternoon is an ortho appt. Soccer at 6. Opening day of baseball is Saturday!

Calling for 80 degrees on Saturday! Woo hoo!

I have my DD with me today at work for the "Take your Child" to work program. I affectionally term it "Take your brat" work. :rotfl2:

She's bored. Go figure. :rotfl::rolleyes: Program starts at 9 a.m. She doesn't want to go. In her defense, it does look rather boring. I told her they would probably give out goodies with the firm's name on it. Then we got for lunch at Ruby Foo's (a chinese place), a science show in the afternoon with snacks and then the American Girl store for dinner. So she just has to muddle through the morning and then she's good. She's whining so much though. :headache::rolleyes:

Oh well.
Jeff - I hope your DD feels better. And I feel your pain about the doctor.
Kathy - feel better.

Hello Nana's! :thumbsup2

Kathy, hope you get feeling better soon.

Lorna, good to hear from you. :cool1:

Chuck, good to hear from you too! :woohoo:

Alison, good luck with "take your child to work day". I own a couple of businesses I run out of our home, so everyday is take your children to work day for me! :lmao:

Dawn, we still on for Rushmore in July? :cool1:

Jeff, are the girls over their illness?.....or was it just one of them?

Happy Thursday everyone,

Jeff, hope the girls are better today.:thumbsup2

Dawn, I am excited about hearing from Denise too. Many times first babies come late. Mine was 13 days late:sad2: So we will just have to wait and see.
She will probably have the baby while I am gone this weekend so i will be the last to know:headache:

Hi Allison,
I always thought the take your child to work day was dreamed up by bosses who wanted to torture their employees:lmao::lmao:
My kids would of loved it because I owned a pizza place so they could of munched pizza all day;) But way back then the day didnt exist or at least it wasnt publicized. So I lucked out.

We have nice sunshine today and it was suppose to be rainy. Now they say sun all weekend, although only in the upper 50's. But thats ok, at least its not raining.

I am off tomorrow for the weekend to go back to moms to keep cleaning out her home and to visit her. So I may post in the morning tomorrow but then I'll be gone .

I will be back later today to see who's been around,

Kathy

Hi Greg, seems we posted at the same time today.

I am still not feeling very well but I did sleep las tnight and that really helped a lot.

Hope everyone is doing well at your house. Hows the garden coming?
I am ready to pick and cook some fresh veggies!!

Kathy

I keep forgetting to ask,

Jeff did you go to downtown Disney?

I saw on line they have a hot air balloon ride there now.
It is tethered and goes up 400 feet and lasts about 10 minutes.
I was wondering if you saw this?
The article didnt say the price.?

I told Greg I bet $30 to $50 per ride. He thought it would be lower.

I know on Hwy 92 near Disney at Old Town they have a sling shot ride thats $30, so I thought this might be about the same.

They showed photos of the view that were awesome.

Sorry Kathy but Greg is right

"The cost will be $16.00 for adults, children 3-9 will be $10.00 These prices include tax."

We did see it and we had every intention of doing it but we ran out of time. When we go back in June, we are at Port Orleans Riverside for the first four nights so hopefully we can get over there and do it then. The girls are dancing at Downtown Disney as well so we WILL actually be there for at least some portion of time.

The prices for the balloon are pretty good. They have one of those at the Philadelphia Zoo that we used to go on. I think the only reason we would do this one is to see the different view. DD wasn't too excited about going on it so I might get to save some money.:banana:

DD muddled through the morning program at work, barely. She called me an hour before it was out and begged me to come and get her. So I went up to convince her to stay. She said it was really boring. It really did look that way so I couldn't blame her. Anyway, the big bosses little boy was in and he looked so sad and lonely that I begged her to go sit and play with him. (Cause the mom begged me to have my DD look out for him - he's shy.) I got the eyeroll. How unexpected....:rotfl2:

Finally I just gave in and bribed her. Told her that if she treated him really well and played nicely the rest of the day that I would buy her the American Girl doll she's been begging for. So its only costing me $100 to make the bosses kid happy. Oh what we do to keep our Wall Street jobs. :rotfl::rotfl:
So its off to the store after work to buy the doll.

We will sneak out after the afternoon science show to hit the M&M store. I think I need some chocolate to get through the rest of the day. :rotfl2:

Hi Christine,
actually I am happy Greg is right. I would rather have lower prices so more people can afford it. Of course theres no rule saying I have to tell Greg he was right:rolleyes1 He can find out on his own way off in the future:lmao:

Jeff, we may still be back in time to watch the girls dance, we will know in 2 weeks . Let me know if you do the balloon ride and we arnt there. I am curious about how you would like it. I think it is too high for my taste. Greg would love it.

Allison, maybe the boss will give you a raise for taking good care of her son and that will cover the cost of the doll:confused3 Just make sure your DD is REALLY nice to earn the expensive of a doll.:lmao:
Guess I havnt bought kids toys in a long time. That is a lot for a doll! She must be very special

Off to walk the pups again,
hope everyone is having a good day,

Kathy

Jeff, are the girls over their illness?.....or was it just one of them?

Elizabeth still has a heck of a cough - she hasn't been able to go to swimming all week and she has a meet this weekend, so we're not sure if she'll make it.

OK so I am going to want a full report on POR. We are staying there in Oct and I'm a little nervous. I know you are a reliable souce so I want to hear the good, bad and the ugly.

We stayed there before kids and thought it was pretty nice. But since then we haven't stayed in anything but a deluxe. So....I'm lowering my expectations as much as possible and then we shall see. We go from there to AKV and have concierge for at least 2 of our 4 days there... on wait list for the other two.

We're home - finally!! I just re-read some of my posts. I must have been really distracted today. Wow the grammar, spelling and typos. Eek! :scared:

Kathy - The American Girl dolls are quite pricey but they last a long time and they very well made. I will keep buying from them because they really do treat their customers right. Long story I won't bore everyone with but they treated us really well earlier this year when they didn't have to. So I bought the silly doll. She's happy as anything and went to bed with it. And the boss's kid was smiling and happy at the end. That's all that matters. :thumbsup2

Have a good night all. Jeff, I hope your DD is feeling better soon.

The last time we spent more than two night in Disney was at the Grand Floridian concierge so I am definitely a little worried about staying a week at POR. I really like the property, just not crazy about the rooms. If they come out with the 4/3 special for October I will to upgrade to AKL Concierge.

I know many people that love POR--that is the worst stay EVER at Disney. I will never ever, ever stay at POR again. POFQ is my favorite.

Whereas.....POFQ was just "okay" for us. Much preferred Dixie Landings (which is what it was called then).

However, now give me GF Concierge in a heartbeat. Or YC, or Poly, or BCV or AKL or...well you get the idea.

We enjoyed the private 6 bedroom home we rented in Windsor Hills with private swimming pool and hot tub. I'd go back there in a heart beat. :thumbsup2
