We enjoyed the private 6 bedroom home we rented in Windsor Hills with private swimming pool and hot tub. I'd go back there in a heart beat. :thumbsup2

I'd do that if we weren't spending time in the Disney parks. It's just too convenient to stay onsite when you are park hopping and too hard to be offsite and deal with parking lots and shuttles just to get to the front gates.

Don't you still have to deal with shuttles and trams to get from the resorts to the front gates too?

Depends on where you stay. Stay at the beach club and walk into Epcot and walk or take a quick boat ride to the studios. Stay at the Poly, GF, Contemporary and take a 2 minute monorail ride to the front gate of WDW. If you are at the Contemporary you can walk. It's why we stagger our trips. One time at BC for those parks and the next time at a MK resort. And for as much as I hate hate hate public transportation and said I'd always rent a car when at WDW even when staying onsite - the last couple of trips we haven't and I'm pretty amazed at how efficient and convenient the buses are. It really is better than driving and parking.

Howdy all,

Well in January after the baby comes I will have to change my name. Although I think along time ago I saw a mom x4,grandma x5 on this board. So I may have to get creative and rewrite it differently?

I will find out in January:goodvibes

Hi Chuck, nice to see you dropping by again. I see in June you will be on vacation. Wish we were too:thumbsup2 I was suppose to be back in Florida by the first of june but lots of obsticals have popped up, so now I amnot sure exactly when I will get back there.

I hate leaving our house empty, plus paying for a place I am not living in but I guess it will just have to be for a few weeks.:confused3

Hi Jeff, you also will be at WDW soon for a dance program:goodvibes

Everyone is going but me? Some how that just doesnt seem right:lmao:

We are cold and cloudy today. I am sitting here with my blanket wrapped around me to stay warm.:scared: It looks like a good day to make a pot of stew for dinner or go on a nice warm cruise:goodvibes

Hey Kathy
We will be there the week of June 20. Hopefully you will be back by then!

I'm so honked off. Elizabeth has had a horrible cough and low grade fever for 10 days now. She has been to the doctor twice. Both times "it's viral and will pass." She missed school, isn't sleeping well because of the cough, is missing all her fun activities (swim team, a band concert practice tonight, probably dance tomorrow) and things are just slipping by.

Mina called dr today and they said.."oh ok..let's get her a chest xray." Geez-us. She is sick. She clearly has some kind of infection her body is trying to fight off. She has probably only had antibiotics three times in her life. Some kids, they give em to just for having a cold. She clearly needs either antibiotics or some kind of strong cough medicine (or both) and yet they resist. I understand the whole thing that viral means no meds, but I'm not a doctor but a dad who knows his kid. She's sick and it's not passing. Give her some meds and see if it helps for heaven's sake.

Ok rant over. But i'm still ticked off.

Happy Monday everyone.

I love the Disney transportation. Yes, it does take longer but after all you are on vacation--who is in a hurry! You simply park your mind at the hotel and let them take you around. It is especially convenient with my chair! I've also met wonderful people on the buses!

I know many people that love POR--that is the worst stay EVER at Disney. I will never ever, ever stay at POR again. POFQ is my favorite.

What was so bad about it and why so different than POFQ? I thought they were kinda that same property.

Whereas.....POFQ was just "okay" for us. Much preferred Dixie Landings (which is what it was called then).

However, now give me GF Concierge in a heartbeat. Or YC, or Poly, or BCV or AKL or...well you get the idea.

Trust me if we could we would but between business just being OK and us going to Europe next year, we are trying to be good. Now that's not saying as it gets closer I won't change my mine...

Christine,
when are you going to Europe? Where exactly are you going?

Jeff, i am hoping to be there then but all the problems with mom has really put some changes in our lives for a few weeks. We will see what happens;)

Hi Dawn:goodvibes

Hi Christine! You would think that they would be similar. They are under the same general manager. My visit just didn't go well. It started out bad, I had to ask for the supervisor when checking in. Placed me in the furthest away room from the front. One of our beds had been peed on and they just remade it. Took until like 11pm to get that resolved--I had to insist that the mattress be changed. The manager was VERY rude to me. My gosh the mattress was soaked with pee! The tv didn't work had to wait again another night to get that fixed. The refrigerator didn't work--never did get that to work properly. Poop in the pool. Pine needles everywhere and in the pool. Hot tub dirty.

You know I've had issues at other resorts but they bent over backwards to fix the problem immediately. No problem with that. By the way, I did get 2 nights compensation back for that visit.

:scared1:OMG, that truly is one of the worst stays ever.

We are going next Sept/Oct on a Carnival Cruise (I know but DCL is just too much). We will fly into Rome and visit Barcelona, Cannes, Florence, Naples, overnight in Venice, Croatia and Sicily. I can't wait it's for Joey's 40th birthday, we have been planning it for like 2 years now. Should be able to book in the next month of two.

That sounds like an awesome trip!
We will be going to Barcelona on our cruise in 2010. Please tell me what you do there. Jeff will also be there before us, so I want all the tips from both of you on what its like. We will only have 2 to 3 hours to explore Barcelona so I want to make the most of our time. I apprecaite all the tips i can get.:thumbsup2
