11/27/04 the sequel.....

Kim and Diane looks like we aren't going to make it to Chicago this weekend. We're pretty bummed. It's been a bad 4-5 weeks and we really were looking forward to driving up there with the kids (Chris is the only one who has seen Chicago). Chris is playing Barrabas in a play and we tried to see if someone could sub for him, but they have had so much illness here that they are short of players even with all of the subs being used. Apparently, Barrabas is going to be written out of the play and Chris will be playing Peter now. I just hope that we don't lose the person playing Christ or the entire play will be a bit compromised! We're planning a Chicago trip later this year with the kids, so I hope we can get together then (can you make a return trip Diane?).

Popovich--had a great St. Pats day but I made a mistake of deciding to go downtown for the parade. I forgot the first round of the NCAA tournament was about four blocks away, so it was packed by Illinois and Kentucky fans. I've never seen so much orange, blue and green in one spot in my life!

Hope everyone up north is staying warm--we had great weather yesterday for the parade--48 degrees. It's supposed to hit 60 tomorrow but, of course, with rain. Have a great weekend!

Hi guys!! Amanda, that joke was too funny and as a woman I must admit too true!!!

Curt, too bad you guys can't meet us, let me know when you're coming later this year.

Gailyn, I sent you a PM with hotels for your American Girl trip.

I met with Doc for test results earlier than expected, everything coming back normal, more tests to do now. Was there Wed, twice yesterday, once this morning and I may have to go back Monday. This is a difficult process to say the least!! I think they are going to continue to test (torture) me for another 4 - 5 weeks so it looks like an answer isn't too soon around the corner, I guess patience will be one of my lessons from all of this.

We didn't do anything for St. Pats and we're both almost 100% Irish, so busy and still cold here. My birhtday is Sunday and we have been so busy we haven't even planned dinner out or anything. I told my mom last night, some times life gets in the way of life. I can't believe how busy we all can get. Oh yeah, we're taking the boys to a giant easter egg hunt tomorrow so that will be lots of fun.

Have a good weekend all...

Kim

Amanda - you asked if It seems like anything is missing when we don't cruise on Disney. DEFINITELY - I miss the people and the shows and such that are geared for kids. I miss the fact that EVERYONE on board expects to see kids. But Carnival is so much cheaper that it allows us to do 2 cruises some years.

Kim - HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!! See you Monday. I'm SOOOOO excited.

Curt - sorry you can't join us. Let us know when you'll be in Chicago and I'll try to get out there. I've been traveling almost every week this year but next week is the end of this sprint. After this I'll be out maybe once a month.

Diane :earsgirl:

:) Hi guys,
Hope everyone is well, I managed to pick up some brochures for princess & RCCL & the latter is definately the cheaper of the two. But still quite expensive & very hard to price up!!! so i'm gonna check out
allseastravel.com.
Watched the video AGAIN last night!
My darling brother telephoned last night, they said it rained all day at DC & not just a shower he said it was more like a monsoon & they ended up coming away at lunch time! But he was told if you get bad weather, DC will give you another day for free!!! So he called them & they get to go again next week but no dolphin swim (they managed to do that yesterday)
Thought that might be a handy tip for you guys if your planning to do DC anytime! :flower:
Shouldnt really say anything yet but theres a chance Gary & I may get married over there on our next trip, heres hoping i can finally get him down the isle :scratchin
Take care all :flower2:

Sorry Kim - Have a great birthday  :flower3: :flower2: :rose:
Hope you and Diane have a good meet, wish i was closer!!!

Tracey, we used allseastravel for the last cruise and they were great. Their price was the lowest at the time and we were pleased with the service. Good luck with the trip and with Gary!

Kim, I'm sorry you have to go through more tests/torture  . I wish you luck. Thanks for the pm, I'll read it next. Have fun on Monday with Diane and have a GREAT BIRTHDAY!!!! :jumping1:

Tracey THAT is awesome news! Here's hoping you can get married in paradise!!!:goodvibes

BUMP ... what are we doing on the 2nd page??

Kim and I had our mini-meet on Monday night. What fun!!! Wish we could all do this more often. We talked non stop for a couple of hours. I don't think we ever had the time to really talk on the cruise - always chasing or talking to kids, watching shows, etc. It sure was nice to get out and just unwind.

Diane

Oh Diane and Kim, how fun! I am so jealous! Especially after the nasty day I have had! Did you take pictures that you would care to share.

Kim and Diane--I wish we could have joined you, but the show had to go on. Chris did fine as Peter--a little stumbling on the lines, but that was to be expected for getting the part a few days before the program (did Peter wear glasses?).

Tracey--that's exciting news! What a wonderful place for a wedding!

Curt

Hi guys, i've just watched the wonder sail past the twopalms web cam with my brother & family on board. They rang me too, just to make me feel worse!!!! I sat with a glass of malibu & coke in my disney cruise line glass & wore my castaway cay baseball cap!!!
At least they said they were missing us!! :flower:
I'm off to the travel agents tomorrow to hopefully book our 2006 vacation, doesnt look like there will be a cruise though! But i priced up 7 nights at all stars, 7 nights on i-drive & 5 nights on gulf coast for about £2200 which roughly converted is about $4500.
It would be over £1000 more to do a cruise instead of the gulf coast!! I cant believe i'm even considerering going without booking a cruise (sorry Darci - will e-mail you tomorrow!!!) but you never know i can always add one to it at a later date - when i've won the lottery!!! :rotfl2:
Hope everyone is ok.

I know how you feel, Tracey. I get pretty nostalgic every day since I have my pictures on screen saver. I may have to turn up the heat in my office and put some sand on the floor. I thought the 3- and 4-year old had pretty much forgotten about the trip except that everytime they see a cruise line commercial they stop and scream "Disney ship!" and last night they were in our bedroom playing cruise line. Made me want to go downstairs, make a mai-taid and think about re-booking. Probably better if I do that this weekend since I might have to finish off a pretty big batch of mai-tais (I never could follow directions). Have a good weekend.

Curt

Amanda--Thank you so much for the pictures! They were great. We're in the process of switching to broadband and between work, our school's budget (I have the wonderful duty of being in charge of St. Michaels School's finances) and being sick, I had almost completely forgot we still had msn. Chris is going to send CJ his new e-mail address and ours will change at the end of next month, so I will change it here and PM it to you.

Kim--we may be in the Chicago area sooner than expected, but under odd circumstances. I received a call last week from a small rural hospital in Iowa asking if I would be interested in interviewing as their Chief Information Officer. My first reaction was to say "no" but then I found out I could buy 10+ acres of land very inexpesively and the crime rate was nil (considering within the past three weeks, we have had two school lockdowns for people toting guns, one evacuation for bioterror threat and our fourth police officer killed in a year, that may be a factor). The kids' only reaction was "can we have a horse?" Everyone has their price, I guess. If I decide to go out there for an interview, we'll drive through Chicago just so the five younger ones can see what it looks like (Chris has been there numerous times). We'll let you know.

Curt

Curt,

Can I ask where the interview is? I live in Ankeny which is a suburb just north of Des Moines. You are right, property in small town Iowa is pretty inexpensive. (Yes, I am one of those dreaded Realtors!) My husband Curt and I both grew up in Iowa and have lived here all our lives. Maybe we can give you some insight!!

Good luck on the interview!!

Darci

:flower:
Well i've done it i've booked!!!! :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

7 nights all stars, 7 nights i-drive & 7 nights Hilton clearwater beach (please tell me this hotel is ok!!) October 2006. I am being VERY nice to Gary as he didnt really want me to book yet, but i was in the travel agents & the deal was good (£2200) so why wait i say???
It feels a little wierd not doing the cruise as this is the first time we've been & not gone on the cruise! Just hope i dont regret it, but it was a shorter more expensive holiday with the cruise or a 3 week holiday without it!!!
Still discussing the wedding!!!!! If we do go ahead it will be at the Hilton.
We will be at disney for halloween & i've been looking at the party they do at disney looks really cool, anyone done that???

Curt good luck with the job if you go for it!

Darci--thank you for the encouragement and offer. It's in Decorah, clear up in the northeast corner of the state--Winneshiek County Medical Center. We'll keep in touch if things begin to move forward on this.

Wonderful news, Tracey! I'm excited for you! Thank you for the good luck wish. I'll let you know what happens next.

Curt

Curt, Good Luck with the job opportunity. I hope it turns out to be what you want.

Tracey - congratulations on booking your October trip. We've done the Halloween party at Disney 3 times and will be there in '06 as well. October is our favorite time of year to go to WDW. The weather is great and the kids love the Halloween party. You can buy your tickets any time now and when you do, you can make your dinner reservations in MK (before the 90 day mark). We always choose a 5:00/5:30 PS at LTT. It's a nice character meal and by going at 5:00 or so, you get into the park early. Let me know if you have any other questions about it.

Diane and Kim- glad you had a good outing. That sounds like so much fun.

Matt and I have pnemonia but we're feeling much better now that we've been on drugs all week.

Have a Happy Easter!

Gailyn :flower:

Gailyn, thanks for the info, can i get tickets for the halloween party now???
Even for 2006, i was told by the TA that i couldnt get them till next year!!!
If i can, where?? Sorry if this sounds dumb but which restaurant is LTT, still not up on the lingo yet!!!
It would be great if you guys were there, perhaps we could meet up for dinner!!! You know pre-wedding meal :)
I've jusy been looking at the halloween party at universal, but i dont think Leanne (DD) would like that, did read that hardrock cafe have a kids club though, anyone know anything about that?

HAPPY EASTER everyone!!!

We skipped the Easter Bonnets this year. Rick's just didn't match his outfit (LOL). And when I tried on a hat at the store last week the expression on Matt's face was priceless. I asked how it looked and he said "nice". That kid is going to make someone a wonderful (falsely flattering) boyfriend/husband some day.

Curt - hope all goes well with your new job hunt. Let us know how it goes. And, I bet your easter bonnet looks lovely with the Snow White outfit. OR ... did you get a new outfit this year?

Tracey - Congratulations. We want to hear all about the wedding plans!!!!

Diane

Curt--

Good luck on the interview. I know right where Decorah is. Actually, Decorah isn't real small. I'll ask my husband, Curt, about it. He used to turkey hunt up there all of the time when we were in college.

Tracey--

I am so happy that you booked a trip and so sad that we will miss you by a couple of months!!!!

Hope everyone had a great Easter!!!
