11/27/04 the sequel.....

Kim! oh no! I hope everything turned out for you little one - I can imagine what a nightmare that was for you. Did everything turn out ok - I know you live in a big city - was it a children's hospital? or a community one?

Diane - I can remember back to when my kids were 5 (not so long ago) It is so fun when the hopes of Santa coming and the excitement of what he leaves. It is magical.

This is the first year that I did not put any outside lights on and I was actually thinking that if I can get out early enough from work tomorrow that I can get the tree down..................I really do need to organize myself next year to have everything done before the cruise that is for sure!

I am already thinking about next year's cruise. Hey less than a year away - cool! We really loved St. Thomas and thought long and hard about changing back to the Eastern. I will miss that extra day at sea unless we skip getting off at Castaway. Not quite the same but as I have expressed earlier Castaway really didn't do much for me.

Anyhow - Kim hope your little guy is feeling better now -
Everyone have a great New Years!!!!!

Kim - Sorry to hear about your trip to the ER. Croup is always scary! Didn't your BIL go to Penn State? That's an unusual name and it rings a bell.

We just got some dissapointing news yesterday. A supposed acquaintance of DH's told us he knows someone high up in the Omni Resort chain and he'd hook us up with a free stay next summer at the Omni Championsgate (just opened in October). This was totally offered on his part when he found out we love WDW- supposedly had the paperwork and everything for us. DH saw him yesterday and started nicely pressing him for details - guess what, he got ticked off and told DH that "he doesn't have to put up with this". What??? DH talked to another mutual friend and says that he does this alot. This man is a local businessman in our area and is quite wealthy - guess he likes to build up his own ego in some sick way by making promises to people.

We thought that maybe we could go to Discovery Cove with the $$ we were saving on a room, but looks like that's not going to be the case. Oh well, the bright side is I love to plan and that's half the fun for me. I think we're going to try Priceline for a hotel in Downtown Disney since we're only planning on WDW for 2-3 days before heading over to Universal for an onsite stay at Hard Rock. I love planning a WDW vacation!

Hope everyone had a wonderful holiday season! Happy New Year All! :cool1:

Thanks to all for the well wishes for Cullen. He is doing better but still coughing quite a bit, typical toddler stuff as i know many of you have been there.

Denise, yes my BIL did go to Penn State and was a big star in football. Yes it is an unuasual name. It's so funny because John's family is all Irish, light skined blue eyed suburbanites with names like John and Bob and Mary etc and Titcus is very dark skinned black man from literally the gheto. What a culture clash. It has been fun and interesting, he is a great guy and has worked so hard to get where he is. His mom was a single mother and his brother is in jail. What a story! Anyway, he had NFL dreams, was drafted by the San Diego chargers two years ago and then dropped and has been in arena football these last two years. Bonnie Bremner-Pettigrew was a huge volleyball star at Penn State, John's other sister Julie Bremner-Romias was and is still also big in the volleyball world. No pressure for me the big couch potato :D

I'm so sorry about that person letting you down, what a shame! I hope planning will be a nice consolation!!

Happy New Year to you all!!!

Kim

Kim - Just looked up pics of John's sister - boy what a family resemblance! Hey, don't feel bad, us couch potatoes have to stick together so all those over achieving sports minded individuals don't bug us to join in.

Kim - sorry to here about your little boy, glad hes doing better.
Hope everone has a great new year :grouphug:

I hope everyone has a Happy New Year! I am working tommorrow, I couldnt resist double tiem and a half! Especially since Santa went Nutz this year! LOL
So, share with us what you received?
My DH and I werent supposed to exchange gifts this year, BUT he did anyways. I got 2 new Disney watches, a framed picture of the Magic! And a Dept 56 figure from the DIS store of the fab 5 swinging! It is so cute

Kim, I'm so sorry to hear about Cullen's Christmas visit to the ER. Croup sounds so scary. Did he have to do a breathing/nebulizer treatment? My kids always hated that. I hope he's doing much better.

Denise-I agree with you. Planning vacation is half the fun although my DH dosen't get that part!

Jeff- we really enjoyed your pictures. It made us all want to be back on the ship! The kids loved seeing places that they'd been.

We'll be staying home tomorrow night and watching the ball drop. We're making tenderloin and crab legs and the kids are excited to watch the Three Stooges Marathon on TV! Greg's parents, 3 siblings and their kids are coming, so we should have a full house. I love holidays and parties!!!!

Best wishes to you all for a happy, healthy and successful New Year. You are are special. :grouphug:

We received a post card from CC Club with a Guest ID number but that's it.

I tried to log on and complete the survey but I must have waited too long because my password wasn't valid.

OOOOOO .... crab legs .... my favorite. What time is dinner Gailyn? I could eat some crab legs and remember our wonderful brunch at Palo.

Ivy - don't let that sourpuss get you down. I think the worst part is that the trip was a gift - what a ungrateful and ungracious way to act. But you said the rest of the trip was great - so remember the good parts!! I know a person like that - nothing is every good enough - and I try to stay away from her because she puts a damper on everything.

Amanda - lucky you!! Your DH has great taste - all Disney and Magic stuff.

I hope everyone has a safe and happy new year. We're staying in tonight and hoping to be awake at midnight. But we're taking Matt to the boardwalk this afternoon - at the Jersey Shore, not WDW (SHUCKS!!!). They have a First Night thing in the arcades. And since we don't drink ... HA HA HA ... not until after noon anyway. But the weather is pretty nice (high 40's and not windy) that it will be nice to get out of the house.

Diane

Gailyn - we figure it will take us about six hours to drive to your place so what time is dinner? Ha ha!

Oh Diane, john will be so jealous when I tell him where you are going, there is no place he would rather be than a board walk at the jersey shore!!!!

We are going out tonight for the first time ever, we are usually asleep by 10 on New Years. We are going to our favorite seafood place with three other couples. They are coming here for drinks before so it should be fun. John and I are going to try to take a nap so we can stay up.

Here's hoping for lots of booked cruises for this group in 2005!!!

Kim

Hey Kim looks like we'll be able to make it to Gailyn's too! See ya there! :earseek:

Seriously though - we've really got to stay in touch and keep this thread going. I feel like I've met some really good friends through this board and the cruise and would love to meet up with again someday. :grouphug:

Denise, I couldnt agree more!
Gailyn, I wish I was in driving distance for some of those crab legs. That is one of the only seafoods that I eat. I LOVE crablegs! So is anyone else going to share what they received for Christmas?????
Diane and Gailyn, expect and email from Max, he was telling me yesterday that he missed his pen pals Matt and Matthew. Gailyn, I still have some pics from the Magic show of Matt that I need to send you as well as the video of him helping out the Magician/Ventriloquist........... :flower1: :teleport:
Kim, I did not know I was in such close contact with a celebrity while we were on board :flower: :bitelip: I shoulda got an autograph! LOL I hope Cullen is feeling better by now ?
I never receive anything from the castaway club........I have been on 3 cruises in the past 14 months with 3 more booked, I guess they figure I'm coming back anyway, why waste the advertising dollars on me? :groom: :charac2:

Well everyone after introducing myself to the December 3 threads - and after alot of thought to the kids taking extra time off of school I changed my ressies back to November 26th - Eastern. We talked it over and the kids decided they would rather have an extra day at sea than Key West and Cozamel. hmmmmm I think it just means my DS Nick can spend more time at scoops. Diane - I know you guys are planning on the same trip - I am sure we will be rebooking the Doubloon Sail for sure. Well I quess I need to change my calender. LOL

April - yes .. we'll be there on the 11/26 and we'll be doing the Doubloon Sail again. That was so much fun - even if Matt (DS5) spent the afternoon on the boat.

Amanda ... I'll share .... Rick and I got each other snorkel gear for Christmas - the good stuff from a dive shop. We took it on the cruise. Then we were only suppposed to get each other little stuff. I got him a coffee mug with Matt's picture (Matt showing his muscles at Castaway Cay) and an outdoor thermometer with a lighthouse picture. Rick, on the other hand, didn't pay attention to our deal (what a sweetie) and he got me an opal ring. What about everyone else? What did you guys get.

I still can't believe what a great time we had with all you guys. I wish everyone was going next year. I just know that future groups just aren't going to be the same.

Diane

Ok guys, I'm really, really sad. Friends of ours that were with us on the cruise want to go again the same week in 2006. I guess that's the week you all are talking about. DH was so excited and said we're going! Yeah! Then reality sunk in. :guilty: Oldest DS will be a senior that year and he would end up missing basketball. He definitely said already he doesn't want to miss it since they always do a holiday tournament then. I totally understand why he feels that way, but a small part of me says we should go. It looks like we won't be going because I wouldn't want to have him be punished for missing practice his senior year. I'll be with you all in spirit though!

Happy New Year everyone! We had friends and family over for dinner on NYE and made crab legs and tenderloin. The kids had fun watching 3 Stooges and cracking their own crab legs! What a mess!!

Well, on NYE Greg's parents confided that they really wanted to do the Western next year and not the Eastern. So we changed our resie to Dec 3rd. We're going to WDW on the Sun after Thanksgiving and going to MVMCP that week before the cruise.

I'm so sad because Matt will be crushed. I haven't told him the news. I'll really miss everyone from our trip and the Doubloon. DH is going to get scuba certified before the trip though and he's looking forward to that.

All for now.

Gailyn :flower1:

Gailyn, since you will be in Cozumel you must must must do the royal swim at chaankanaab.... www.dolphindiscovery.com book it yourself, do not do DCLS excursion as theirs is only the dolphin encounter for almost the same price as the royal swim booked on your own. Also in GC Stingray CIty is awesome as well. We used captain Marvins with great success.

Amanda - forgot to mention what DH and the boys got me. They were sneaky and got me a watch on the cruise! A silver Tinkerbelle face with the Italian Mickey charm band...I absolutely love it! I also got a Calphalon pan I've had my eye on for awhile and The Sound of Music on DVD. Santa was very good to me! :flower:
