Last year when we all went as a family reunion, my grandson Sammy was just two. As we were waiting at the port, one of Sammy's uncles taught him to call the Magic "Mickeyboat". He then proceeded to point out the Carnival ship, and taught Sammy to call it the "Boozeboat". So anytime you asked Sammy what boat we were on it was the Mickeyboat, and everyother ship was the Boozeboat!

Wendyleigh--we have a DS3 I'm sure would be happy to play with them. He'll likely be with us most of the time--although he'll be in Flounders some. He can be a bit rough and tumble side but he has two older sisters (DD8 and DD9) who keep him in check, so he's learned some limitations.

I can't wait to see National Treasure. Do you think it would be too scary for a 5 yr old? DH let him watch the Goonies last week and he was ok with that.

This weekend is the big packing event. I just hope we don't forget a suitcase this year! My goal is to keep it to 1 bag each plus the wine luggage

Anyone doing one of the wine packages?? I didn't recognize too many wines on the list, I think Caymus was the only one I had tried before. We'll pack 6 bottles in the wine luggage, so maybe we will just order a bottle at dinner occasionally.

Curt- we just went to the Disney store and bought glow in the dark twirlly things and we bought a package of glow in the dark necklaces and bracelets at Costco. I picked up pirate party horns and a tropical door decoration at the party store.

Are any DH's wearing tuxes? DH is having a dilema. He dosen't want to pack a tux for formal night and then a suit for semi-formal night. He wants to pack one or the other. Do any guys wear their tux again on semi formal night??

Ok enough rambling. Only 8 more days

We have early seating for dinner...but auntie and cousin could only get booked for late seating...we've been trying to get this fixed so that we are all in early. DCL keeps telling us to call back and/or wait til we get on the ship...I'm hopeful tho!

Well, I was "cruising" along fine today-picked up the dry cleaning, made an appointment next week for a pre-cruise spa day, and picked up some medications...hunky dory! Then my older sister called me to "express some concern" about my youngest nephew (12)...she doesn't think that there will be very much "for him to do" onboard! Granted, I've been worried that he's at that very hard pre-teen age where he really wants to be a teenager but still has alot of child in him. She told me that she thought all the activities for the Oceaneer Lab looks too "babyish" for him. I talked to him a few days ago, and he really wants to be in the teen club (especially since his older sis and brother will be "rubbing" in all the cool stuff they get to do!). I told him the hard truth...probably won't happen. They can ask, but I know they are pretty strict about age levels...for good reason. I tried to sell the free movies, free food, swimming, basketball, aracade...don't know if they bought it or not.

*sigh* Just needed to share my worry with y'all...I really don't want him to have a bad time, and I'm afraid my excitement bubble just got deflated a bit. Is there anything that I can do to ensure that he doesn't get "bored"?? (How in the world can HE be bored when there are about a million things that I want to do??!)

I don't want to have to worry 'bout my family having a good time...or stress myself out trying to be the "entertainment" director...I have too many things that I'm looking forward to to be worried! I just want to relax...help!

*looks frantically around for the Xanax but settles on a left-over Halloween Twix...hey, it's chocolate!*

Hi Stephanie - welcome aboard!! As soon as you board you should go to see about getting the dining reservation changed. The Navigator (sheet of paper with all the good stuff that's happening) they give you when you check in will tell you where to go. We changed from late to early seating last year with no problem. But we boarded early. Just try it first thing for the best results. I would hope that when you explained that part of your family had early that they would do what they could.

I can't wait for this vacation!!!!! Even the boys (DH and DS5) are finally getting excited. I just have to make it through 3 more LONG days at work and I'm FREE!!!!!

My dh is wearing a suit with a change of shirt for the formal and semi formal night - not sure about Palo - he may trade in his semi formal night for a Tommy Bahama shirt and wear the suit to Palo and formal night instead.

Me - no clue what to wear for those nights - i just had surgery in September (will explain what and why at the bar once i have had a few drinks! but haven't lost the weight I wanted to in order to buy something new! Might have to anyway!!

I can't sleep i am getting so excited!!

Can't wait to tell the girls in the morning that we have playdates on the ship too - Curt - don't worry about the boy thing - they love little boys! Their boyfriends are Jack, Matthew and Nicolas. I know, I am starting them young

Good morning everyone! I have been up since 445 - I am officially on vacation! Yeah!! yes and very hyper - made out the to do list while the kiddos are at school today - and my wally world list - I can't believe that in just two days I will be standing on Main street USA. I am planning on dropping both boys at school and heading right to walmart and get started. I hope that I can get it all done. Then I have to clean the house and I still haven't packed - is anyone a procrastinator like me. To my defense though I worked late three nights this week and made sure DS got all three of the projects finished and handed in. I also have had a really really bad cold - one of the ENT surgeons I work with called me yesterday and asked me if I needed anything called into the pharmacy. What a sweetheart he is. I am so lucky to work with such wonderful people. (but I won't miss then the two weeks I am gone LOL). Feeling alot better today - just a hard cough and my head has cleared thank goodness. OK guys gotta get the kids up and hit the pavement everyone have a wonderful Friday!!!!!

We are going out of town for the weekend to have early Thanksgiving with my folks and the in-laws. I have our day clothes, formals, pirate and some of dinner wear packed. Now to find time to pack the rest.

We leave for Orlando Wednesday afternooon. Geez, I have never had a cruise sneak up on me like this. I don't know what is worse; waiting for what seems like eternity or waking up and realizing you have not packed and you leave in one week.'

Thank you, Popovich. Steph got a few of the "glowing things" today, so I'll check into Costco and see if I can find some more.

Ivy--our DH12 also asked about the teen club. In his case, it's probably just to see what is going on and to get away from his DS10 I think once he's in Oceaneers Lab, he'll find enough to do to keep himself entertained, though, and he'll be with kids his own age--I don't think he'd get along well with kids 15 up (he's got penpals his own age and seems okay with that). I think if the Oceaneers Lab kids hook up on Saturday's get-together, they may be okay after they find new friends.

I'm now sort of officially on vacation. I finished up my work at 6:30 a.m. (had about 3 hours of programming to do, so you can figure it was a VERY early morning) but I have to go to a conference in Cincinatti tomorrow. After that I can spend the next four days being under foot while Steph tries to pack!

Hi Amanda - Nick just emailed CJ about meeting and dueling the first day. He plans to wear a Yu-Gi-Oh shirt to the dock and wear a carolina hat. I hope you are planning on letting him take his deck.

Curt - Zacch is grounded from the puter but I hope Chris will also be bringing his cards.

I have been shopping, packing, and cleaning all day - the kids and I also took our change in today from the big Pepsi bottle and had about 40 dollars in singles - and 30 dollars in 5 dollar bills and about 50 dollars in pennies, nickles and dimes and we ended up with 39 dollars in quarters. I quess I will have enough for the washing machines either at the Raddison or first day on the ship. DH is now home and is vaccuming -I am all packed - tomorrow I can relax. Thank Goodness. Hope everyone is having a great weekend.
