I'm so sorry to hear about Mac. We went through that with our Great Dane Dutchess when I was growing up. I remember being so hurt that my parents put her to sleep. I didn't understand that that was the most humane thing for them to do and the hardest decision for them to make. My thoughts and prayers go out to you and your family.

Welcome Northern Mouse! What a nice anniversary for your parents. I'm sure it will be a lifetime memory for them! BYW, we are also coming with parents. My DHs mom and dad are coming with us. It's their second cruise. They are a lot of fun to travel with and our kids will have such great memories of our trips together!

I'm sorry your DH won't be on the cruise, but it's great he'll be joining you in WDW for a few days! We just ordered our tickets for MVMCP for Dec 5th. We made a 5pm PS for LTT. How did your family like MNSSHP? We LOVED it and went for the last two years. I hope the Christmas party is just as memorable.

Anyway, as far as your packing question, I am packing a small bag with just winter clothes and marking the tag so that I don't forget which bag it is. I'll put in one or two outfits for all including mittens/scarves & hats. We'll have our winter coats and another outfit from the flight down. I don't know if that is the best way to do it, but it's all I could come up with.

We're on late seating.

Staying at the Radisson the night before, the Animal Kingdom Lodge for a few nights after.

Excursions include the 12-metre regatta in St. Martin, followed by a rental car from Budget to get over to Dawn beach & Marigot. (DH, self & dad are racing for sure -- I think I'll cancel mom out: might be a bit much for her since even getting her on the "big" ship has taken some coaxing.) I'm sure she'll have more fun on the under two flags tour.

St. Thomas so far is the Barefoot sail and snorkel -- another day of fun for us, gritty adventure for mom

Castaway Cay we'll play by ear. We're bringing our own snorkel gear since I need a prescription mask. Will probably rent bikes. Mom & Dad are shuffle demons, so I bet they'll end up at the shuffleboard courts . . . on board and at Castaway.

BTW -- Dad's only 72 (and he's NOT retired from farming, just to be clear ) and I'm the 40-something with the child groom.

We had such a great time on our last eastern it might be hard to have a repeat -- but we'll sure try. Talked to the folks today, and they're getting really excited, too. Almost time to start counting sleeps!!!

Welcome Northern Mouse. Glad to have you in our group. In case you didn't read 40+ pages of posts - we are having a DIS Meet on Saturday (boarding day) at 3:00 near the Outlook Bar. We're also wearing (on clothes, hats or bags) - lime green Mickey heads so we recognize each other.

We aren't counting sleeps yet .... but my son (5) is counting Swimming Lessions (on Mondays). He has 2 until Halloween and 6 until Mickey's Boat.

We absolutely LOVED MNSSHP (went Halloween night the past two years) so as you can imagine, I'm having withdraw as the calendar creeps forward to the end of the month! In fact, it's a sad fact when you are in a sort of depressed countdown to your PAP expiration! (7 days as we speak...in case you were wondering!) I just bought our MVMCP tickets for the 5th as well, but I think we've decided to eat a late lunch outside the MK (WCC) so we can just go-go-go when we're allowed inside with our tickets as it's just DH and myself. Still trying to decide whether or not to do the CP package for Dec. 4th though...not sure if it's worth the money...We are staying Dec. 4-6th off-site at the Comfort Suites Maingate East. I'm a bit bummed that we didn't book in time for those great codes onsite, but I'm dealing with it. Really.

Well, folks...it's official!! We will be celebrating my nephew Micah's(belated) 12th BD on Tuesday, November 30th. Talked to him tonight and he was really funny about the whole birthday thing. I can tell he's getting excited! Come to find out, my SIL Janet's BD is on November 26th so we will HAVE to celebrate her's onboard as well. Darn! More cake!

My mom arranged our transportation today...got a great rate with Southern Elegance. We'll be the ones in the 15-passenger mini bus!!

I really had to laugh at myself today......when I was filling out the managers schedule for the next six weeks and realized that my vacation is finally on it. I got so excited. It hasn't helped all day either that one of my employees just got back this morning from a ten day trip to the world, and he kept coming into my office and telling me more tidbits during the day. I was very happy for him and just a wee bit jealous. Of course we were driving everyone else crazy with Disney talk, gotta love it!

Hi Amanda - sorry to CJ - I will ask Nick to drop him a line tomorrow - he has been really busy with football practice twice a week and playing on Saturday. We are really proud of him -they are 6 - 0. We are going to the playoffs! Saturday is the last regular game and they are playing another undefeated team. It is really a riot to see 8 - 9 - 10 year olds to play - but they are pretty serious.
Denise - I am sorry to have you do this I know you have worked hard on the list but I have a couple changes. One night at contemporary resort - three nights at Royal Pacific Resort - night before cruise is still at the Raddison. We are also doing the See/Sea in St. Martten. Hope everyone is well and counting down like me!

You buy a perishable food item with a best before date the day you embark. Picked one up yesterday!

Ivyandlace: -- we'll be at MVMCP on the 5th as well. I'm quite tickled, since I always wanted to go WDW at Christmas.

DH & I just had our flight changed by the airline. Didn't want to risk arriving Saturday morning, and only other choice was leaving Thursday (American Thanksgiving) with an un-planned overnight. Good thing is we get thanksgiving turkey twice this year. But does staying at the Holiday Inn Express in Seattle as a 'distressed passenger' really count as 'pre-cruise' activity??

Northernmouse! lol I love it - I am Canadian and my DH and DSs are American and we always talk about Canadian and American Thanksgivings. We go to my mum's usually in October because DS's get Columbas day off here (not this year though) Anyway it tickled me to read your post. We were in Vegas last year and ended up sitting beside a couple from Toronto during a Houie Lewis Concert and the lady said "You married an American? (Please don't flame me anyone - I love my American) I started to laugh and DH said why do Canadians always say that? I just shrugged and said I don't know.........I said to him just like all nationalities - Canadians are just really proud. anyway didn't mean to ramble.
