11/26/2011 EARLY Bananahead reunions cruise

Good Morning!

Finally raining here this am--22 days without any presip. It's muggy.

Denise, yes she has a pink tutu. I wish I could get pictures but I've just about given up trying to get them. :confused3

Well, better get going with my day.

When do I ever pick on you? I'm the nicest person anyone would ever want to meet. :lmao:

I don't think I'll ever find another group of people I enjoy chatting with more then you guys. :thumbsup2

Our NCL cruise chat thread was full of people who would come and introduce themselves and leave and you'd never hear from them again. Now that we've changed cruises the RCCL thread its the same story.

I don't know how these people think they can ever get to know each other if they never stick around to chat? :confused3

Greg i know what you mean. When we did Carnival it was the same way. I felt sorry for the OP who started the thread. She really wanted people to post. Then I arrived and really drove them nuts:lmao: I think they posted just to shut me up:rolleyes1
Since it was our first (and last) Carnival cruise I kept asking questions about it then I asked questions of the day, sometimes 2 a day and then I started going on about a meet and then excursions. Finally got about 10 families to post everyday but it still wasnt the same as the nanaheads.
See, thats justs tells you how special we are:love:

We agree if the Dream does 3 and 4 day we wont do it. We would wait until 2012 when both new ships are there so we will be on a new ship. For the price fo B to B 3 /4 day cruises it is more than a 7 day , plus you do Nasaau and CC twice. I need more than that for my money.

If some here do Alaska and others do the Dream it may not be much of a reunion anyway.
Maybe we should have suggested 2012 because that is an aboslute for having a new ship on 7 day cruises?? Something to think about.

There are 2 14 day Hal cruises that have been calling our name for the last 2 years, we may consider. One does the Panama canal , the other I think was 14 days with 11 ports all but one port is new for us too. It leaves from Fort Lauderdale. We will keep talking and see if the Dream is going to perhaps do a new port? It will all be announced the end of next months and we will deicde then what to do.

We were really disappointed that the dream seems to be doing short cruises. I think they are making a mistake. How are they going to fill such a large ship with such a bad itenary for 3 and 4 days cruises? They dont fill the current ships for that.:confused3

Oh well, they never listen to me, guess I should bring back my whip!!

Today is back to the low 90s tomorrow high 90's:eek: I need to bake a cake tomorrow too. I think I will start that around 7 a.m. It was 45 this morning.

Today is laundry and working on my FE gifts. I am making progress, but it takes time for what I am doing.
Not feeling 100% today. Hope I didnt pick up the bug that 's going around where mom lives. I had a meeting there saturday but of course didnt see mom. She is too bad still. Looks like she is low on blood again. Her heart valve leaks and her body doenst make its own blood anymore. So after a blood test today she will have to go and have a transfusion. last time that made her feel so much better and improved her mental attitude too.

No guarantee that will help her mind this time but at least she will feel better and be more comfortable, that is important to me.

well thats all from me. Time to get busy, but moving slowly so I don't get to feeling worse.

You know me I will be back later:goodvibes

Hi Kathy, we looked at doing one of those 14 HAL cruises, but in the end we decided NCL or RCCL had more to offer for kids. If we were sailing with out the kids I'd do a HAL cruise in a heart beat....they have some really nice itineraries! :thumbsup2

Your welcome to come to Alaska with Dawn and I. :rolleyes1

Some time in the next couple of years I need to decide when we're taking our Mediterranean cruise?......If I can figure out how to make it work into our schedule we still may switch cruises again and go to the Mediterranean in March next year instead of Panama.

I hope the blood transfusion helps your mom feel better. You and Greg sure have had a rough go at it this year.....how many more days till your cruise?

I just looked at your ticker...Nov. 7! Won't be long now! :-)

Greg our cruise is November 7th and we leave Nov 1st on a red eye flight to Orlando so we will have a few days to stay at WDW first.

It will be fun to go and see new things there. We will be at the All Star Movie resort. No driving which is nice. Plus Disney will claim our luggage at OIA so we dont need to do that either. We have the free dining plan to. Greg will use part of mine too becuse it is for 2 meals and snack so he will use one of my meals for his 3rd meal and we will use the snack too even if we take it back to the room and save it.

I am so ready for a few days away. If i had my FE gifts done which I dont. But I am making progress.

We started with a 3 day cruise and 4 days at the parks, then it was maybe no cruise just a week for parks then with all the stress and work we have had Greg decided we needed both. So we are a few days at the parks then a 7 day cruise.:goodvibes

Next year is our 14 day TA cruise. I have a feeling we will need that vacation too.

We want to do Alaska someday but not yet. Maybe when we retire. We want to take our RV up there and tour for a month to really see it and take a cruise while we are there.

Gotta go, still not feeling so good. Now they are saying 100 tomorrow for Gregs birthday. He will have to wait for his birthday dinner. I iwll bake his cake early but it will be too hot in this RV to make a nice dinner.:scared1:

Sounds like you should have a good time between the cruise and WDW.

Are you kidding me?...100 degrees tomorrow? It actually froze here last night and I don't think the temperature got above 70 today. I don't think tomorrow is suppose to be any warmer either?

The leaves on my trees are starting to change color now! I won't be the least bit surprised if we get our first snow fall within the next 4 weeks!

I hope you get to feeling better! :thumbsup2

Well now they are saying only 98, not 100 so thats alot better:lmao:

Morning all,

well I need to get my cake baked before we get too hot today. It was only 44 when I got up but they are still saying we could hit 100 today and 90 tomorrow and upper 80's the rest of the week. Greg i would love to trade weather with you.

I am still not feeling very good so after baking the cake I am going to lay down for awhile. Now Greg isnt feeling well today either.. I am so generous and share everything;)

Enjoy your Tuesday everyone,

Kathy

Hi Denise! :wave2:

So far its just Dawn and I looking at doing an Alaskan cruise in Aug. 2011....wanna come?

We may need to change our group name to the "Frozen banana heads" or "Bananas heads gone wild" for the Alaskan cruise though?! :lmao:

Hi Denise,
Great job on getting the top fo the page before Greg could snag it:cool1:
No Alaska for us for a few years. We still want warm tropical islands for vacation, Not frozen ice:lmao: Some day we will do Alaska.

No swine flu Greg, its not that bad. No Nausea, just not feeling right. Headache on and off, stomach ache too sometimes and tired.
There was something like that going around where my mom is living. I had to go there for her evaluation saturday so I may of picked it up there. Its isnt a serious bug, none of the old people have had to go to the hospital or died from it and they are very frail. The nurse told us that it was lasting 4 to 5 days for everyone.

Well I got the cake baked early so I didnt get it too hot in here. After lunch I will make the frosting and decorate it. Then I will be all done with it. YEAH!
I accomplished something today.

Kathy

Well. that was good news! We bought travel insurance for our trip to Jamaica last month. Holly got sick and had to be hospitalized and the travel insurance paid it all today!

I've always been a little skeptical that travel insurance would really pay anything, but they came through for me today!

Yeah, Alaska isn't really my first choice either, but the average temperature in July/August is around 70 which is just right for me. :woohoo:

I'm going because I want to see whales and giant chunks of ice falling into the ocean and floating past the ship. As far as the wildlife goes?.....I have elk, moose, deer, bear, bald eagles, wolves, etc in my back yard....I don't really need to see more of them. :lmao:

I've never met anyone yet who's gone to Alaska and didn't enjoy it, so I'm giving it a shot! :thumbsup2

Good Morning! Just checking in...

The boys tied their soccer game last night. A really good game. Boy, they get rough as they've gotten older :scared1:

When I was talking with the boys about what kind of vacation they wanted to plan for next, the had mentioned San Diego, Mid Atlantic States, Canada, etc. Really no reaction. Then I mentioned Alaska--their eyes lit up and were very excited--so Alaska it is. We'll shoot for 2011. (Oh, and they mentioned to go back to Hawaii would be ok too! :rotfl:)

Drizzlely and cloudy here too. Very muggy. The sun did come out yesterday afternoon for the game though. :cool1:

Nothing going on for the next couple of day! :woohoo:

What about that weather down south in Georgia!?! Greg, have you talked with Bob?

Hope you feel better Kathy. Oh, pass on a belated Happy Birthday to Greg! Sorry, I missed yesterday. It was also Mina's Birthday.

Have a great day!

Howdy all,

Well the town next to us got to 101 yesterday we only made 97.
The cake came out good. Greg wasnt feeling good so he had a bowl of soup then a piece of chocolate cake.:lmao: not exactly a nutirtious dinner.

I am about the same today. Not down sick but just not feeling good. Greg said he was feeling better today, so maybe I will be better later today.

All I am doing today is walking dogs and working on FE gifts.

I saw all the Flooding in Atlanta and thought about Bob and Brantley lives some where around there too I think? I may have to PM them to see if they are ok.

Have a good day everyone,

Kathy

Bob says they haven't had any flooding at his house....said its just wet! He's in Boston this week and has been keeping in touch with Lisa.
