We have small contracts at three resorts so we can play the bank and borrow game and get what we what at each resort every couple of years. So we have three home resorts: Beach Club Villas, Animal Kingdom Villas and Bay Lake Towers.

Happy Thursday everyone,

We are headed for the uppper 90's today Thats way too hot for me.

So far nobody here seems to have special plans for the 4th??
Saturday we will go for overnight at my moms to work and visit Sunday morning.

The facility where she is keeps them so active. yesterday they had their weekly bus trip but this time it was an all day adventure. My brother went along. They went near the coast to Spirit Mountain Casino. They all had a buffet lunch there and then they took the residents to the non smoking area and gave them each $5 to gamble with. They took them to the penny machines so they could play for awhile on the money and they did.

My mom said she wanted to play a 10 cent machine and her first pull paid off $27.90 !! She was thrilled. She played forever on it and finally was down to zero so my brother gave her $5 more and her first pull got $19.00 and she stopped. Then they drove back just in time for dinner.

I never thought about a Dimenta facility taking them to a casino. Later this summer they are going on an all day fishing trip and an all day picnic at Detroit lake. Next week is a western museum for just 4 hours.
What a great place.

Well time to get busy. I only got 4 pages done yesterday for my scrapbooks I am making. Today I hope to do much better
It will be too hot to go outside later, so at least the scrapbooking will keep me busy. I need Linda to help me she is the expert. I think I will get me a cricket machine, that should help a lot for the next project.

Wow, Kathy that place sounds great, at least the are keeping them active..which is always good.....we are thinking of putting my dad in assisted living....he lives by himself now....3rd floor condo and he's now on oxygen so he cannot climb the stairs un-assisted and when we take him out...we need at least two or more to help get him up.....

nothing going on here another 4 hours and I will be outta here then I have to go home and make up a batch of potato salad and chocolate eclair cake.....going to Sue's tomorrow for a cook out.....alto I am working until noon tomorrow but leaving straight from work so looking forward to a good afternoon....saturday not sure what we have planned....

Denise,
Heres a quick tip or two for
when you start checking out assisted care facilities. Look for one that will take medicade when his money runs out . All those places are expensive and money goes fast. If they dont take medicade then all of a sudden your out of money and desperately looking for another place that take medicade.

Also check out as many as you can before deciding.
We saw many safety hazards when we checked them out. Places easy for mom to trip, dim lighting, NOT enough people to properly take care of the people. Bathrooms too far from the bedroom etc.. also there should be NO smells! Some had foods mom would hate too.

Once you narrow it down to 2 or 3 then take your dad so he can see what he likes best. Be sure he sees all you are considering or he wont be happy later.
Good luck to you. Most good places will have a waiting list, so start looking ahead of time if possible.

I didnt mind turning 50....the hardest year for me believe it or not was 29.....thats because I knew it was down hill from there so now I just go with the flow!!!! But I kinda like being in my 50's it makes my retirement years that much closer!!
