Well, I was born in Jackson and got married there, but never lived there myself. Went to school at Ole Miss, but also worked for Miss State and USM. I'm related to the whole town of Brookhaven and surroundings. I went to MSMS for high school in Columbus. So, let's just call it good and say the whole state is related to me in some way!

Brandie, on the cruise I just went on this month, I met a guy from just outside of Denver (Broomfield, I think) and he and his sister were talking about the altitude. Did it take you long to get adjusted when you moved to Denver?

It took about 3 days to acclimatize. I was pretty tired and had a massive headache. Those who come visit us from the lowlands tend to recover quicker, though.

Go Pats! Since Bill's (#3) Cowboys didn't make into the Championship game, he is now rooting for my Patriots (I am originally from MA).

Tell Bill3 that Bill1 is also rooting for the Pats because his cousin (also named Bill *wink*wink*nudge*nudge) works for them (think about who with the Pats is named Bill)!

In contrast, I woke up to an unexpected snowstorm! Whiteout past the first row of houses...

We really do check the news every morning to get an idea of what the weather SHOULD be for the day... But that doesn't rule out being completely surprised.

Thank goodness for 4 wheel drive; I didn't get dog food yesterday, so I need to get it today... <---Fiona picked the icon. She's sitting on my lap, providing editorial direction.

I know the feeling. We did a thorough cleaning all ALL the rooms a couple weeks ago, just so workmen could come in and sand and repaint all the baseboards. Sanding blows dust particles all over the house!! So it really didnt accomplish anything accept have it clean for the workers to see, before they got it all dirty again

It's funny the things we do sometimes.

I'm jealous! It was 9 all night but is now up to a whopping 20. Supposed to be the same all week. Can't stand winter, but at least it held off until just recently. Was in the 60s when I left for my cruise on the 6th and apparently, winter arrived while I was gone.

I'm into the spicy, the cajun, the creole, she has different tastes. We're Saints fans here, at least for the today. If the colts win, we're Saints fans for the duration.

Well, I suppose it's better than hurricanes and flooding. At least we can stay in and stay warm. Hard to get a 4 1/2 year old to believe me when I say it's too cold to play outside! So we compromise and he gets to play while I shovel. Gets him out a bit. Today we're going to an RV show just for something to do outside of the house. And it's fun to go inside all the different kinds they have too! The only problem is that after taking my son last year, ever since then he's been begging for us to get a "camper that you drive"! Yeah, part-time working, law student, single mom that I am, I can SURELY afford that! I'll get right on that!

Just another cold, cloudy, gloomy day in Michigan. I'll really need the sun come the end of March. Trying to plan an outing for mid-winter break to north of Chicago--Gurnee, IL. That will lift our spirits some!

Do you find people DOING Monty Python funnier than just watching Monty Python? I do.

So the weather forecast this morning was 2-6 inches... I checked a few hours later and the forecast changed to up to a foot. Guess we'll pick up food for the mutt during the week. She says in a pinch, she'll be content with her tuna.
