I think there are group discounts but Ill leave it to the experts (Shell? Kathy?) to tell you for sure. Whatever you do, you should book onboard. I'm assuming you would get whatever group discount there is along with the discount and credit for booking onboard. But I may be wrong about all this..Just wanted to hear myself talk (type). :rotfl:

Thanks for the tips...so how do we get a group discount onboard? Would we need to know how many people are definitely going? Or is just a general deposit?

Hey Brit ... I see on TMZ that you were caught with your breeches down ... or should I say, missing ... again ... :lmao:

Jen,
Will your family adopt me?:rotfl:

I made 1,000 posts everybody!

Sure!!!!! The more the merrier. :hippie: If there is another Bananahead cruise next year, maybe we'll end up on the same one anyway!

Sorry Mel ... not quite!

Virgo Horoscope (Aug 23 - Sep 22)
Watch your finances closely now that the New Moon is in your 3rd House of Money. This may not be as serious as overdrawing your checking account, but an attraction to something beautiful could lead to overspending. Remember, you can enjoy an artistic creation without having to own it.

That last line is the story of my life!!:rolleyes1

There is... the Western Caribbean on Nov 29 there is already a thread started for it.

Did everyone book together? Is there a great deal if we sign up with everyone who has already booked? Is it better to book onboard? If I keep asking questions will everyone find it really annoying? Especially if I don't make any actual statements? :rotfl: OMG, I turning into my three year old...next you'll hear me in the background, "Mom? Mom? Mommy? Mooommmy? Excuse me, Mommy"...gotta love it.

Jen, If I were you I'd call Dreams Unlimited (sponsors of this board). This is my first time using them but I've been really impressed. They notified us twice of discounts to the cruise. And I changed my reservations twice on them! Let them find out all the info for you!

I'm hoping it will distract them enough to forget my drug test.............

Alicia loved playing pickup with the waitress when she was Jackson age...she throw something on the floor wait for the waitress to pick it up the she throw it again...eating out with small kids is so much fun:rotfl:

Ah, yes. That's why we're really gonna play it by ear with dining on the ship. But it's ok. We're not "foodies" so the eating isn't the most important part to us. We just want to relax and be on vacation. "Whatever's easiest" I think will be our motto!

,

Uh huh, Christine does; she already said so....................:rotfl2:

True da't:rotfl:

This was my door in 2005...it's pretty pathetic...

I lost my magnetic tape and had to use tape. Everythink curled up from the humidity but the end of the cruise. I promise to do better this year.

howdy all,

just dropping by to say hello.
you guys have been really busy around here since breakfast!!!
I got laundry done, sweeping, mopping, dishes, and made butterscotch brownies this morning and worked on a trip tik. So the mornng flew by.

Okie,
i think you need the weekend away, GO FOR IT!!!!

Jen,
I think they start group discounts at 10 people, but calling a TA like Dreams Unlimited is a great idea. They can sometimes get extra perks for you like room credits and if a better deal comes along they will tell you so you can take advantage of it. call a couple of them and see what they say.

Now it's time for lunch and a few phone calls. I'll check back in a couple of hours to see how many more pages you've posted!!:thumbsup2

Kathy

I bet we will make 8800 by night time, what do you guys think??:rolleyes1

I didnt see any balloon banana last cruise either??:confused3
i'm sure I would of noticed that!!

Since we are all chomping at the bit (is that the right saying:confused3) to pack. Let's share packing secrets. I have a few:

1. I always split up my clothes into multiple suitcases in case one is lost. This way at least I have half a trips clothes. I also try to pack most of my undies in my carry on plus one days worth of clothes and a bathing suit so my vacation won't be completely ruined if the airlines lose my luggage. Can you tell I am paranoid about lost luggage:confused3

2. I have a portable luggage scale to make sure I don't have to pay the extra money to check my luggage that's over the weight limit.

3. When packing I use a spreadsheet and layout each days complete outfits including shoes, jewelry, matching cover ups and undies. It's very important to avoid VPL:scared: . Although I guess if you don't wear undies you don't have to worry about VPL:rolleyes1

4. I always make sure I have extra room in my luggage (even if it means bringing an extra piece) so I can bring back lots of stuff from Disney...I swear I got one of everything from She Sells Sea Shells on Castaway Cay.

OK, your turn.

Christine,
No packing secrets here, sorry.

I have done so many cruises now that i just know what to grab. I do make sure as you said that I have plenty of room for souvenirs to bring home.

I always forget one small item. If I didnt it wouldnt seem like a vacation.

I have read many times that people take an over the door shoe holder to hang on the bathroom door. They put all the little toiletry items and their make up in it. That keep things from sliding around on the bathroom shelves and give extra storage room, especially if you have a family and have lots of toothbrushes, toothpaste, deodorants, makeup, hairbrushes. everyone has a place for their stuff and saves a lot of confusion.

I have never tried it but some people wouldnt go without one.

We definitely wouldn't go without our over the door shoe hanger. It's great for all those little things that normally would clutter up various dressers and desks (which don't exist in the DCL cabin). I will admit that we did not use it on the last cruise when we upgraded to the Category 3 as we had plenty of space for all our junk. But I brought it back home to take on the next cruise..so it's waiting in the closet to be packed for this one.

Christine-Don't worry about your door. We would never judge you. We're all just applauding your efforts...............right Mutt?

OK, your turn.

I've done Tip #1; I just use our bathroom scale when weighing the suitcases; Don't actually use a spreadsheet, but I do lay out outfits before packing.

#4 always gives me some trouble!!!

Once unpacked, I store the suitcases under the bed. I also try to take a little time mid-week to repack some of the clothes we've already worn. Then I'm not marathon-packing on Friday night.

I may try bringing a collapsible hamper.:confused3

Haven't used the shoe holder, but might try it. I do have toiletry bags that hang and have clear compartments, so I don't know if I need the additional thing.

Last year, I brought a mini bottle of clothes detergent, but I never did any laundry. I may try to do a small load of laundry this year - especially work-out clothes:scared: !!

Bring a couple different colors of highlighters to mark the Navigators according to each person's plans.

What else do you guys do????

Hey Brit -- when you gonna get that ticker fixed? And I don't mean your heart!!!! Can't you just make stuff up, or isn't that allowed considering all the scrutiny you're under these days????;)

I always make a check off list whenever we go anywhere since I have to pack for 4, we would be in big trouble without it. I usually spend the weeks beforehand adding to it and then print it out a couple of days before we leave!

I love my over-the-door shoe holder. Haven't used it on a cruise yet, but used it in the camper this summer and decided it was priceless!!

The only good thing about packing a week's worth of diapers is that is space I will have for whatever we buy when we go home!

It's gonna kill me... but I've decided to split up our stuff this time in case luggage gets lost. Normally I really like packing everybody's stuff in it's own suitcase because it makes it so much easier to find everything throughout the week.

I plan on bringing the same dirty laundry bag (or 2) that we use camping. It can easily just be stuffed in a suitcase when it's full.

I will not be traveling with a purse, but a backpack that will contain everything from diapers, to snacks, a couple small toys and all of our documents. I always travel with one of those plastic folders with the velcro shut and in there I keep all of our travel documents. I'll probably need 2 for this trip.
