Not much going on today, just catching up on laundry and such.

Bill, you need to show them the door sign about leaving Guido home. that was my favorite one.:goodvibes He is soooo cute!!

Josh,
there is a missle launch tonight about 8:33 p.m.. It should look pretty neat with it being after dark.

Keep up the great posting each day, we will meet our goal way before the cruise, Now I am curious just how many we will actually have by cruise time??:confused3

Kathy

Good Morning all...late posting this morning...we were running behind...Kierra is in school in the morning this week...she came home yesterday all excited talking about High School Musical...I was surprised when she told me they watched half the movie in music class...her class is all 4 and 5 year olds.

Okie...glad you feeling a little better...hope all goes well with the doctor.

Bill...wow you are very talented...I love your Magnets!

Sharon...I hope everything works out with the passport

Judy...I would like to hear about the GF too...it looks so beautiful. Have you stayed at the AKL since they have been doing the work? Are the animals still in the savanah?

Kathy ... as you wish! Our door from last year ...

So here's a little story. As you can see, the orange sign on our door is Guido. It reads:

My name is Guido
Mom and Dad said we were all going on a cruise. They lied.
Now I'm stuck in Ohio.
Today it's cold here.
Tomorrow it will be cold here.
Send help and treats.

So Bill's in the cabin one day by himself, he hears a knock at the door, goes to answer it, there's a mother with her daughter (maybe 5 years old). Here the conversation:

DAUGHTER: Is that your puppy?
BILL: Yes it is
DAUGHTER: What's his name?
BILL: Guido
DAUGHTER: Why did you lie to him?
BILL: Huh? ... Er ... uh ... I ... uh ...
DAUGHTER: Lying is BAD.
BILL: No ... uh ... no you don't understand ... um ...
DAUGHTER: You're a BAD MAN
BILL: It's just a joke!!!

The mother stood there and didn't say a thing ... :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Thanks for posting that sign, I loved it last year.

Greg and I walked by a few times just to look at it again. I should of taken a picture of it. It was soooo funny!!!

wish I could of seen Bill's face when the girl knocked on the door:lmao: :lmao:

Back to the laundry!!

:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :rotfl: poor Bill...never know what kids will say...my dd's say the strangest things sometimes...my mom smokes and dd dislikes it...one day we were shopping with mom...I got in the car with the girls and my mom went behind the car to try hide from Kierra who was 3 at the time so she could have her smoke...she lit it and when she did all I hear is...mom grandma is bad you need to give her timeout...not only does she smoke...she plays with fire too!

Good Morning Everyone!

Well, NOW it's 44 degrees. As I've said before welcome to Michigan, but unlike what the rest of you have said...I'd move to Florida and never look back!

So glad to hear from you Okie. You scared your Disfamily too death, I can imagine what Rick, Josh and Chelsea were feeling! :scared1: Scary! Hoping for you good news from the doctor today.

I'm doing my chores while on the computer. The computer can really zap some the time though can't it!

We've also stayed at AKL about 6 years ago. We got 75 percent off all the deluxes one November when my daughter was a cast member. The savannah room was awesome. They also have a walk around with piers to watch at other areas of the savannah. That is another good resort to go to and never leave it for the parks. There is definitely a whole day(s) worth of entertainment right there. I think another perk is the restaurants and a good food court. The pool and HUGE and they usually play games with the kids which I always feel is one of the best perks for the deluxes. My boys will spend all afternoon playing the games.

Well, there I go again. Rambling on as if I'm a Disney sales agent or something! (I wish.)

Back to chores. Will be lurking about. Dawn

Thanks Dawn...

I can get a room today but no savanah view...maybe I'll call and see if I can get on a wait list...thinking it would be a nice place for me and Alicia when Kierra and Glen go to the Quest...lots more to do there then at the POP...

Hi Nana Heads -

Just wanted to pop in to say hi to you guys. Sorry we won't be joining everyone on this year's trip - we're doing a Land and Sea with just a 3 night on 11/29. But, BEHAVE and have a good time! Hope everyone is doing well, especially Okey!

Jamie- Nothing bad in the movie for that age group. Emily (not yet four) watches all the time with her big sister..sings the songs in the car...etc. I've said it here before but I have no problem with that movie and actually kinda like it.

Hey Jaime-Here's my opinion on the AKL for what it's worth:

This past May, I wanted to plan a special trip for just Jacob and I. He really wanted to stay at the AKL. I can tell you we paid almost $150 more a night than what was posted on that website I gave you. Anyhoo, I found out for $50 more a night we could stay on the Concierge Level. I really wanted to the Safari, so that's the room I booked. We had a Savannah View room. I read lots of reviews before we went and most said they view was great but it really wan't necessary because there are so many places to see the animals around the hotel..............(to be continued)

But it was my first time there and WANTED that Savannah View Room. Well, don't let it get out but they were right. It really isn't necessary. There is a lot for kids to do there. They have daily activities listed in the Lobby and the pool is really nice. You're going to get the same experience regardless of your view. I wouldn't let it deter you from booking there and that price they had yesterday was darn good!!!

I wouldn't stay at the AKL again just because I don't like how dark it is. Not my thing, but I would definitely tell anyone they should experience it at least once. Hope that helps.

Jeff-Have you started looking for the picture yet. Just thought I would remind you:rolleyes1

Jaime - Kim is right. You really don't need the Savannah View. It was cool, but I'm glad I didn't pay for it and was just upgraded to it. Emily actually was a little afraid of the giraffes coming close to the balcony so we had to keep the curtains closed a lot of the time, even when Elizabeth and I were out there! :rotfl2: Elizabeth was 7 at the time and she and I had the best time checking out the hotel, the various overlooks, sitting at the fire pit at night. So I agree with Kim - book the standard view and don't look back.

Jeff

Jaime - one more thing. The activities for kids are unparalleled at any other resort we have been to. The girls participated in a number of activities including a few African crafts, an African story telling game and the daily parade through the lobby playing African instruments taken from the shop there. They really had a good time. Hmmm. Now I'm thinking maybe the January trip we should reconsider AKL. Ack. What to do? What to do?

I did a live trip report when there that was posted on the resorts trip report board but I don't know how to find it since it's so old. Does anyone here?
