Just got back from library time with Elizabeth and errands. It is hot. It is 89 degrees. It will probably go above 90 degrees.

Thanks Bill for sharing your SeaSafe might just take you up on it. Did find some Ginger Chews at the health food store. Have not seen the motion eze. I would like to try anything that's natural first and hopefully nothing at all! My strategy is to take it all and MOST of the time don't need; but sure as I don't bring it, I need it!

Gotta run. Now it's time to start getting the boys. Will try to check in later.
Dawn
:banana::banana::banana::banana::banana:Are we still counting these?

Hmmm...has anyone tried those bracelets that supposedly help with sea-sickness? I'm wondering if those are a good thing to bring, although I'm not sure where to go about finding them. I don't get sea sick (knock on wood) but my mom has never cruised before & I'm thinking of bringing something just in case...but we'll definitely take Bill up on his offer if she does end up feeling queasy.

I just noticed my post counter in comparison with some of the rest of the Bananaheads...I am apparently not doing my part in getting the toll to 10k posts. :surfweb: So sad. Maybe I'll need to find some embarassing photos of myself to post...or maybe just my husband. :lmao: What a great first impression for y'all.

Hi Jen! :wave2:
Actually I think the stuff Bill has is supposed to help protect against jellyfish, earlier on we were talking about there being jellyfish at Castaway Cay. Some people did say though that they tend to be worse when the weather is hotter. I didn't notice any when I was there in January, but I wasn't really swimming just wading around.

Don't worry about your counter. I've been hanging out here for quite a few years since before my Jan. 06 cruise!

Now, I really don't have anything to top Wendy's outfit or Christine's hair, but here it is as promised..............

Awww. I think you look good! I had a pink prom dress too, but it was much uglier, because it was a few years before that in the lacy dress era!!:scared1:

You don't look very Britney like. That dress is WAY too long...

Ya gotta love the old "wicker chair shot". I had one of my senior pictures in a wicker chair!

Ummm...That dress is missing one very important thing....POOFY SLEEVES:rotfl: Although it does have the required pinned on flowers and crinoline:banana:.

Thanks for sharing these great pictures everyone.

Melanie, None of us have been seasick but we've never had high seas before either. I just want to be prepared. Skylar does get nauseated when riding in the back seat. He uses the SeaBands for this and they work great! My daughter also wore them just about her whole pregnancy! She'd try to take them off and get nauseated again. She finally gave up trying and just wore them. So I know they work for that stuff.

Thanks for the heads up re: cooler weather. YES!

MEAP testing this week at school so NO HOMEWORK! :woohoo:So, I should be able to check back in later.

:lmao: :lmao: You look straight out of Pretty in Pink. Is Duckie behind the camera making faces at you?

i only wish i had some pics from my HS days. long hair - yes I had hair then - and incredibly ugly disco clothes. It was the late 70s. But I don't have anything here....but I'll keep looking because it will be a good laugh if I can locate.

Hey Dawn-
When I was pregnant and got nausious I drank Vernors (Michigan ginger ale). My dad brought it back for me when he went up hunting. It is so much better than other kids of ginger ale IMHO. If I were you I'd bring along some Vernors!:rotfl:

Oh that would be GOOD!!:rotfl:

Well, today I thought I should check on the status of Jason's passport application since it's been a while and we haven't heard anything. According to all the reports they are claiming that they are "caught up". We applied July 10 so I thought it should be here by now. I went online and punched in the appropriate info and I get a message saying something like "there is no application for this person"! huh? Of course it's a federal holiday today so I need to call tomorrow to see what's up. I'm glad I checked on it now instead of waiting until the week before we leave.

Yep, go those too!!

Minnie has killed and burried a few young Boas in our back yard.
Greg has seen lots of rattle snakes in the yard and a few pygmy rattlers.

Our Vet lives just around the corner near the lake and he has water mocassins in his yard all the time.

I started to get the mail one day and when I opened the door there was a big black snake all coiled up on my porch. When he slithered off he was about 5 to 6 feet long:scared1:

sometimes you will see a large snake sunning himself and he will stretch completely across the road from one side to the other. Usually a rattle snake.

Peter pick up the pool skimmer last week and a scorpion fell out the end of it.

you have to be on your toes around here. I have found those scorpions in the master bath a couple of times!!:scared:

we dont get much company:lmao:

(Im)patiently waiting popcorn::

Well I actually wasn't sure:lmao: so I had to look at the ingredients...it is beef cured with water, salt and lots of things with very long names:lmao: ...it is very salty and used mostly for taste...we boil it with cabbage, potatoes, turnip, carrot and split peas to make peas pudding...in one pot...it adds flavor to the rest of the food...I actually eat a very small amount of it...it is a Newfoundland dish called Jigs Dinner...it is usually served every Sunday for lunch with roast, chicken or turkey and dressing & gravy...

How would I go about making sweet potatoes with the marshmallows on them? Check the grocery store and the are called yams here...

Hows your mom&dad Okie?

You can't mess yams up...for easE, I use canned ones and drain the liquid. I put a half stick of butter in a frying pan, add about 3/4 cup of brown sugar, and then add the drained yams. After 10 minutes or so, I get tired of waiting and put them in a buttered baking dish.

Sometimes I whip them, but sometimes Kathy does. :lmao: No, really, they are just as good in chunks. I top them with marshmallows and bake them until the marshmallows are golden and puffy. YUM!

i think the closest i'll get is my graduation picture which i think I have here. I'll look for it tomorrow and scan. but you'll get to see my groovy haircut for sure.
