11/24/07 We are Better Than Leftovers!!! Nana Head reunion Part 2

Hi Everyone,
Just had a parent come to me in school today - she has a 10year old son, learning diabled, - and she is planning her first cruise for Dec. 9th of this year and was shocked to see so few rooms were left! Why, she asked, would people plan any earlier than now for Dec? Of couse I smiled a tolerant smile and then she asked me to help her plan the trip.
She is so excited and I feel like I have a new student in the class of Dis- much more fun to teach than "real school"
Have any of you stayed at the Wilderness Lodge? It is just about the only place that still has rooms other than the Value resorts and she can afford cat.4 on the ship.
Sorry I have been away for a few days, school keeps getting in my way!

I have stayed at the Wilderness Lodge. It's a great hotel. Not as good as some of the other premium hotels but still good...yeah...good If you have any questions, I will be to help you out.

The first 2-3 weeks of December used to be a great time to go WDW. The last time we went around the 6th it was VERY CROWDED

When I called to book our room in September , there weren't ANY Value Resort rooms left. There seems to be fewer and fewer weeks that are really excellent anymore.

I went on a 4 night cruise in Nov 2005. I wasn't with this crazy bunch last year (I was in Hawaii)but Kathy and I have been on this board since the beginning of 2006

Wow, what a busy busy day at work. I've had a few HUGE projects that are taking all my time and patience (hey, anyone wanna know the demographic make-up of Marana, Arizona? I can help ya ). And apparently stressing me out too as I woke way too early after dreaming about work and couldn't get back to sleep, so I'm pretty much the walking dead tonight. A 3-day weekend would come in handy about now ... oh who am I fooling? A 7-night DCL would work, too.

JUDY: We stayed in the Wilderness Lodge when it was first opened and loved it. We have balcony rooms on the lagoon, so it was very very nice.

CHRISTINE: You are my hero! "Vertically challenged" ... that there's funny, I don't care who you are ! You know my Bill is "Folically challenged". He and Joe will make quite the pair .

KATHY: Have a safe trip! If nothing else, get to a library and get online! We'll miss you. Who's in charge while you're gone, by the way?

I did the whole gown thing last year for formal night, but I saw a shorter dress the other day that I liked that I might do instead. I don't know ... I'm just too tired to think about it!!!!

I tought we should let the OLDER teen have a chance at some responsibility.

I told him if he needed help to ask Bill, not that he would help him but at least he would have someone to blame besides himself

We seemed to have scared off a few who use to post all the time in the early days.

I figure we'll bring the dressy clothes... and if the kids don't seem up to it we'll just skip it and do the buffet. I like that there is that option this time. On the Wonder they don't have the buffet at night.

I thought there were sooo many people who wore formal attire on the 7 nite. Dh isn't a fan of dressing up so I'm not sure what we will do.

We booked our flights, have to call airtran though the confirmation number did not come thru??not sure what happened. Our flight arrives after 11 so I think I'm booking the airport hotel. We'll stay a couple of days after the cruise, not booked anywhere yet. Actually thinking(please don't get mad) about staying at universal as we have never done their park. We always stay in wdw and never have a car to venture out. I'm still debating about it. Ds wants to stay at the nick hotel, anyone stayed there?

This weekend we will be catching some of the last pool days before school starts. We're planning a seafood and beer fest, any recipe ideas?

I just recently flew from Philly on Airtran to Orlando and stayed at Universal-had the same trouble with the confirmation number-went to the counter they gave me a confirmation number to use on the computer thing and guess what...it didn't work After much fussing with the lady at the counter we got our boarding passes. Had a great time at universal studio and city walk...highly suggest seeing the blue man group..what a blast


Kathy have a great time with your mom...will try to keep Joshua on task!!

Got our passports in less than 2 months time-July9th till August 28th I'm less nervous now.

Rick got a new job-will be working many hours a week so he may not be able to post much

Hey everyone need your help!
My daughter's buddy who was supposed to be traveling with us is not coming. So... anyone with 16-17 year old girls travelling with us, could you send me a PM with their myspace info or face book or something? Now Kayla is totally bummed as wants to cancel and I see my fabulous trip turning into a nightmare.
Kayla isn't a Diser like I am but has cruised several times and loves the trips, this has really taken me by surprise! Imagine changing your mind about letting your daughter go at this point!
Didn't sleep at all last night worrying about this... will check back tonight after work....
