Mornin folks.... just checking in to see what I missed. Its one of those "Fathers day" weekends for us. I'll go and see my folks today and we'll go see Woos on Sunday. That pretty much takes care of it. Too much driving but, what the heck. Next Friday will be OUR time. New Orleans, hunh?
Wendy and Mike, hunh? Woohoo! I'm ready to get away from it all, thats for sure. I've never been to New Orleans so its really gonna be interesting to me. I've been told I have to "earn beads"? I guess I'll find out about that--Shell promised to keep me abreast of the situation, whatever that means

Wish were going to meet you there. Darn DH and his crazy talk about $$$$ and time. . . (Plus the realization just hit me that we're leaving for Tennessee & NC in less than 3 weeks! )

When we were in Vegas at the RIO, I earned my beads the old-fashioned way: DH told the bartender I wanted some beads and he handed them right over! DH acquired some from the aerial parade, however!

We have a graduation party at our neighbors' this afternoon followed by Father's Day cook out at DH's sister's. Then tomorrow, I think my parents will trek the quarter-mile over to our house to hang out. So much for a relaxing weekend.

Kathy -- glad to hear I'm not the only one who dislikes grocery shopping! It's sooooo depressing to check out thinking I only picked up a "few things," and then finding out the bill is well over $100!

My question is about the weather at the end of November. You all have been at the same time of year for more than just one year so you will have a better idea of how it goes. Everyone is talking about snorkeling so I am guessing that it is still great swimming weather.

I know... pretty elementary question for such awesome experts, but I only prefer answers from the best!!

My question is about the weather at the end of November. You all have been at the same time of year for more than just one year so you will have a better idea of how it goes. Everyone is talking about snorkeling so I am guessing that it is still great swimming weather.

On the average it is warm enough to swim, but I am a chicken for cool water so for me it is too cool, but everyone else just loved it when we went.
All of my family swam everywhere with no problem.

Nancy: The only place that you might find "cool" weather is at Cape Canaveral when we leave and when we get back. Otherwise expect SUN, HEAT, and FUN!!! I think it was in the mid- to upper-80s in St. Maarten and St. Thomas and probably the low 80s at Castaway.

Uh Cheri ... you realize of course that you didn't really "earn" your beads, right? You are aware that you were missing a crucial step, right? Think hard ... maybe you'll get a flashback of what should have been done!

its cold in November...cold, I tell you. Bring a coat.

The fish are easy to catch on the islands because they're already frozen...
You can only get frozen margaritas and the hot chocolate sales are off the map.... cold.

But I guess you were asking the experts.....I'm just a mutt

Hey Jeff - pass along our congratulations to Elizabeth! That is so awesome! Alyssa is such a good swimmer but lost interest in her lessons. I think joining a team may be the thing to get her back into it. Tell Elizabeth "thank you" for her email to Alyssa too! She will be getting back to her this week.

Our kids are at their aunt and uncle's overnight tonight, so Jon and I will be enjoying a nice date night to celebrate his birthday. I am sure we'll get a lot of cruise talk in!

Evening all,

took a ride to the forest today to take the dogs for a walk. We are training pixie. Only walked 5 minutes when we were swarmed with biting flies
They only bit Minnie and I. We couldnt get away from them. OUCH!!! those bugers can bite!!!

We ran the other way and escaped for a couple of minutes then ran into more of them, so we had to get back in the truck and come back. They must of just hatched out, it was aweful.
I dont know why they only bit me and minnie, that just didnt seem fair. i think Mutt had something to do with it
So we stopped by Petco and bathed them both on the way home.

It was a nice ride but not quite what we had planned.

Now we will relax and watch a movie or something like that since there is nothing on TV. Tomarrow I hope to see Shrek 3.

Thanks Danielle. Will do. Glad to see that you are able to "space out" the emails too so that we don't get too crazy too far out before the cruise! Elizabeth would email daily if I let her so keeping some time in between is good. That being said, it'll be great when they meet. They'll probably do that "circle around each other thing, looking shy" until they realize they already "made friends" on the boards. Then look out.

Hope you have (had) a great date night tonight. We used our babysitting time to do a bunch of necessary bs today (looking for a new tree/new plants for an area in the rear of our house, checking out some new bathroom fixtures and surfaces for a redo of our master bath, etc). Someday soon we'll have a real date again!

We don't have too much planned for today -- just a cook-out later in the day. Hopefully I can get some yardwork done this morning. I have a critter that keeps digging in the mulch and it's really starting to be a mess.

Kathy -- for your daughter. Hope she's doing o.k. How traumatic for her and the kids.

As far as the biting flies -- just tell yourself they were after you because you're so sweet. (unless you didn't shower before you went for the walk. . . )

I tried the old I am so sweet routine about the flies biting me but nobody believed me, so it may of been more the shower idea

Today is better than yesterday.
Rachel is sore but doing much better mentally, but it always takes time to work through a tramatic experience like that. I have told her of your good wishes for her and her family. She said Thankyou and that she will get through this.

well I am off to fix someting for dinner, maybe Tacos? I am so tired from no sleep I am not sure what I want to fix.
Greg and i did go and see Shrek 3 today and it was a cute show. Not as good as the first 2 but still well worth seeing once.

Best part was the dogs survived our absense with No potty accidents in the house and nothing was tipped over or chewed up. So they both got a peanut butter frosty cutie:

you should feel guilty about making us miss you ,
you could releive that guilty feeling by coming along

The life boats are large enough to hold you and you can eat at the buffet for breakfast and lunch and then use pinocchios pizzaria or Plutos dog house for dinner.
Sounds like a plan to me
