Hi everyone,

Kathy glad you are feeling better.

Well the count down is going on here-school is almost over and Josh (aka joelidol) will then be a senior-- --how did this happen?? My baby will be in his last year of high school and now the hunt for college is on!!--he wants to go to Penn State--plans on being a nuclear engineer- .
DD will then become a Sophmore-she said she will be so glad not to be a freshman anymore-then there will be younger kids at the school and her class won't be picked on anymore--everyone remember that feeling??? I do and man am I glad I don't have to go through that anymore

Rainy here over the last few days thanks to tropical storm-but lucky it broke the humidity

Anyone talks to Wendy tell her I PM'd her re: Hershey.....thanks....

Well I have been having some fun while sitting here recouperating.
as most know we are taking the grandkids and going on a carnival cruise the end of the month.(sorry Mickey)
Now I did find a cruise thread for it about 6 months ago. There were about a dozen families who posted once then never again. it had been weeks since a post.

So I posted and tried to shake'em up some and introduced myself as the mouth of the south!! Not that I am a talkitive person , just wanted to get them started.
To shorten the story after dozens of posts, threads and pleading they finally got new people and things got rolling good. We have over 20 teens that are all getting aquainted too. 11 from one family!!!

Well I got them set up for a family meet and an adult only meet later that night. I also told them we needed to post photos on June 1st to have faces to go with names.
I decided to be different, of course! I posted a photo of me with a friend and asked them to pick which one I was.
so far everyone has voted for my friend!!
Now I need to decide if i should tell them they are wrong and post the photo of greg and myself. Wont they be surprized.

Or I could say they are right and only post a picture of Greg since they have seen me and wait to the meet to see what they say.


What would you guys do?

I think it would be great to fool them to the end, but not sure if I could keep my mouth shut that long.

Hello Everyone…I’m back from my first Royal Caribbean Cruise. I will post a trip report soon but here is just a quick observation of RC vs. Disney:

Cleanliness: Disney by leaps and bounds. The rooms were not as clean (lots of hair everywhere), dirty sheets (which I noticed on the last day), my sister had to clean her toilet because it was so dirty (I told her she should have asked her stateroom attendant to do it but she figured he was the one who originally cleaned so it wouldn’t get much better). I also noticed about a quarter of the amount of hand sanitizing stations. There were none by any of the dinning rooms or buffet.
Food: This is the only place where I felt RC was better than Disney. There food was consistently good. There was always something different in the buffet and it was all really good. On Disney both my husband and I didn’t like any of the beef we ate. RC’s beef was much better and cooked perfect every time.
Service: While service was good on RC, Disney service was outstanding. I had to make a complaint against one of the breakfast dining room servers because she messed up our order and than rolled her eyes at us when we tried to correct her. Of course, the head waiter was very apologetic and even bought us a bottle of wine but she was just awful.
Overall: I don’t think they can even compare. Disney wins hands down.

Don’t get me wrong I did enjoy the cruise; it just was missing the Disney magic. We did re-book for a 7 night next Nov, which by the way they only give you a $100 ship board credit for booking while on the cruise no discount off the price. You also have to sign up for their loyalty program it’s not automatic. They are about $1500 less than a Disney 7-night so I guess you get what you pay for.

Disneyland was great as usual. We killed ourselves doing everything. We also stayed one night in Long Beach, CA which was really nice.

The cruise took us to San Diego, Catalina and Ensenada. Catalina was amazing; it was the highlight of our trip. We rented golf carts and drove all around the island.

Well I guess I should be getting back to work…it’s been a hard day back to reality

The older ones just arnt as well kept as their newer ships .
The end of the month I will do a comparrison about Carnival and Disney.

I think you should only post a picture of Greg, and don't tell them if they have it right or not. Just tell them they have to wait until they see you to find out.

Christine: Thanks so much for the summary! I've never heard anything negative about cleanliness on RCCL, so I'm curious as to which ship you were on. And I'm sure that a certain rolling-eyed server is no longer employed ... sheesh!

I did a comparison too (or at least attempted to) in January after my first non-Disney cruise. Carnival Liberty. Absolutely wonderful ship and I'm definitely going again as soon as possible! If anybody cares, the link is in my sig. Watching paint dry is probably more exciting than reading it, but I did post TONS of pics.

I decided to be nice to the people on my june thread and decided to post a picture of just me so they would know who I was, although I am only about 4 months old in the photo. They are not going to know what to think. I keep confusing them on what I look like

HOT again today, hope Wendy is using a lot of sunblock!!

Glad it's hot there for you guys. It's currently 56 here in the ice box I call Michigan. But we'll be in Florida in 4 days, so I'm sure we'll get to experience your hot weather!

Yep!!! That dead line is getting closer and closer. Also, since we are 3rd from the bottom and heading to page 2, I think this will be a good time to sneak in and hopefully avoid that whip!!!!

Yes we keep slipping to page 2 during the weekdays. Got to watch out for that.

Holly the forecast here is low 90's 20% chance of afternoon thunderstorms for as far as they can predict. This pretty much will stay this way for the entire summer unless a storm passes by. So I would think you will get your fill of HOT weather when your here. Bring the sunblock You'll need it.


I did venture out to the store today. First thing I have done after being sick. Got just a few groceries and it was over $100, now i really feel sick!!

Actually I did get really tired but it felt good to get out of the house for a few minutes. Peter watched the dogs for me which really helped.


well I am pooped. Going to put my feet up and see what on the food network for awhile.

I am waiting for Bill to make another cake to show us.
