I really need to read ahead....

Sorry to hear about your knee, Kathy....we used to have a very clumsy dog and I know all about things that go bump in the night....and the day....morning and afternoon.....24/7---365. It gets better, dear.

As for Greg....I hope it all works out for the best. From what we all know here, he's a major talent and it would be foolish for his firm to lose him. If the worst happens, though....you know he'll do fine and probably better than where he started. Pixie dust all around, though.

We need you and Greg on the cruise.........cleeeeeeeek.

Hi all
We are back from our whirlwind long weekend at the Mouse's House. I'm not doing a trip report, but will give you folks the lowdown. It was a fun trip most of the time, but we had some "issues' with the little people and all the excitement, expectations, disappointments etc. that come with going to WDW on a BUSY holiday weekend. Stayed at the Villas at Wildnerness Lodge which was very nice, but not really our taste so we found it all a bit "dark." But the Lodge, of course, if beautiful and the access to the MK was pretty cool via the boat. Definitely the next best thing to the monorail resorts. Unlike most trips and our plan for this one, we DID try to do too much. But there were some huge highlights that made all the running around way worth it. Here are my top highlight and a couple of lowlights and one observation.

Highlights
1. The absolute highlight had to be our day at Animal Kingdom and getting to hang out with Pat, Steve, Steven, Stacey, Cullen and Laura. Elizabeth and Stacey circled each other for a few minutes before remembering they were BFF on the cruise. It was just so nice for the family to make the drive to hang out with us. Elizabeth was beyond thrilled and we had a blast. Lizzie and I rode Expedition Everest which was cool but the hype was too much so I came away saying, isn't there more? Rode the Kali Rapids which I love and watched the guy directly across from me get DRENCHED. It was alike a WDW commercial.

2. The Princess Dinner at Norway in Epcot. We've done it before but Emily is SO into the princesses that it was just a magical time. With each princess she became more excited. And we had never seen the number one princess in her mind (Cinderella) there before and sure enough she was there. The look on her face and all her reactions were priceless. We did the Cinderella Lunch in the Castle too and it was fine but this dinner just blew her away.

3. The High School Musical show at MGM was quite fun and the girls really enjoyed it (and yes I did too).

4. We had breakfast this morning at Whispering Canyon for the first time ever. It was such a hoot. At one point our server asked Elizabeth if she had a boyfriend. She said no. She asked if she wanted one. She said no. The server then bellowed 'Any eight year old boys here?" When one started to come over, she said..."I"m looking for a boyfriend for this little princess....you got money?" I thought Elizabeth's face was going to explode it was so red. But she already told a neighborhood friend the whole story.

5. Riding Tower of Terror is always a highlight for me. Lizzie rode for the first time and loved it (sort of).

6. Swimming on our last full night and watching Emily start to learn to swim for real. She of course is thrilled and so are we.

7. Dinner at Boma and the Kona Cafe. Just love love love the Kona Cafe.

Lowlights
1. Not managing my fast pass abilities very well and ending up in a couple of ridiculous lines with a stubborn 8 year old. The 60 minute wait tiime posted at Splash Mountain one time turned into nearly 2 hours. Just terrible.

2. A bit of a "rough" crowd this weekend at the Parks and especially at the Wilderness Lodge. Pushy pushy people almost knocked over Emily more than a few times and one guy almost knocked Elizabeth down going for a seat on the boat.

3. Making the mistake of making an 8:40 p.m. dinner reservation at Liberty Tree Tavern one night...then being nearly 30 minutes late and not being seated until 9:35. What was I thinking?

We tried the meal plan this time and because we always have one table service meal a day (usually dinner) it really seems to be worth it. However, parts of it are so complicated it just feels like a lot of work to me. But that's probably just me. Over a four day vacation, we saved between $150 and $200 (just an estimate) by participating.

Just some things I think I think about this trip. Will post pictures once I have a chance to download some.

Night all.

Jeff,
glad you had a good time. I love Whispering canyon . Our son Peter was about 14 and waitress dared him to ride a stick pony around the restaurant singing Zippity do da. being a young teen she knew he wouldnt do it. But she didnt know Peter, Not only did he do it with lots of loud applause but he circled the restaurant twice with a Donald Duck hat on, while asking the audience for more applause with hand gestures. She didnt dare him again:rotfl2:
Food is good too!!

Bill,
Just remember if you bring your camera to Karoake I will also have my camera and cam corder too!!:lmao: Two can play at that game!! I am great at being sneaky!!!
I have to admit I was relieved when my mosiac poster arrived and i didnt see the picture you took of us on it. i used my magnifying glass to check it out.
Lucky for YOU it wasnt there or I would really be out for revenge:rolleyes1

Greg did find out yesterday he will NOT be laid off this time, but end of summer will be the important one that will possibly affect this cruise.
At least I can relax for a bit. Going to cut all the corners I can to get ahead, maybe that will help when the time comes:thumbsup2
Got to be possitive about all things.

Had a bad reaction to some antibiotics last night and was so  all night.
Today i am just tired and have a nasty headache. Dont want to do that again!!!

Hope everyone's week is off to a good start. Mine is better today, but yesterday was NOT a good day.:sad2:

I will check back later when my head doesnt hurt so bad.

Hi All! We're back!

Fun funfun meeting Bill and Shell - and they know GREAT food and how to find it. (Shell check your email for cake stuff - i've been stuffing it.) I'll post the photo as soon as I can remember how.

Kathy, soorry to hear you got hurt, and hope your knee is better soon! Hope Greg's job isn't in danger - but if he gets to move, Tennessee is a REAL nice state! We're looking at the Nashville area for ourselves. I can't imagine they'd ever let the HAMMER get away.

Jd, sounds like the good outweighed the bad for a nice trip. That's good and probably the best you can expect for a holiday weekend.

Wendy, have fun!

Ok. That's the end of my memory - sorry if I missed you. The photo mosaic was waiting when we got home. lol Kathy, I got out my magnifying glass too, but the only thing I could pick out was a photo of Woo's door magnet. I'll get a frame this afternoon while I'm out.

Happy Day, All!

Linda,
look closer, there is a picture of you and a photo of Bob that are pretty clear to see. several other people too. You need lots of good light as the magnifying glass.

Hey - here is a post...

What is the name of the pirate ship at Castaway Cay? We are watching POTC tonight, and I can't remember what the CC ship is.

No help from me as we aren't POTC fans. I thought I knew it when I read your post then realized I haven't a clue. I think we called it the Pirate Ship. :rotfl: that helps, huh. Tell Allysa that Elizabeth got her email just before we left on vacation and was thrilled. She'll answer in a week or so - I'm holding her back from obsessing. It's hard but I'm doing my best! :rotfl2:
