11-23-2008 DCL per-Thanksgiving 3 night Wonder cruise!!

Oh, not that Grand. It's just at the Grand Californian. We get to go to the concierge lounge for the night time story telling. We had cookies and drinks. I am way too cheap to pay to stay at Concierge so it was nice.

We are leaving DL today for Las Vegas. We can't help ourselves we are going to go to the parks for a little bit this morning.

I had a great mother's day. We just sat around the house. I am still recovering from the flight back on Friday. I always seem to adjust to California time really well on the way out, but the way back is a different story.

I now have nothing to look forward to until the cruise. Hopefully the summer will pass quickly. Of course, it has to get out of the 50s for it to seem like summer.

Nice to here that you had a great trip! I am always tired after a trip.

We have 2 weeks in Maui to look forward to this July so that is what I am thinking about right now.

Maui sounds nice. My husband and I went to Hawaii once before we had our son. It is absolutely beautiful. I don't know if we could handle the flight anymore. It's hard just to get to California.

Flight is a little long ( about 8-9 hours for us from Dallas) but then again I like it better then a long long 2 1/2day car ride ( which is what it would be for us to drive to WDW).

I checked for our in laws who might and I mean might come( I don't think they well) on the cruise rates for this cruise and I see that it looks like no more Cat.12 or Cat.11's left. So I guess it must be getting closer to being full.
Did you say you have your air yet? I am glad we did because I wonder if the prices are going to go crazy? I think it the gas keeps going the way it is these 2 trips we have planned might be our last for awhile!!

We've been OK. My DH has had WAY too much work stress and is in the process of looking for a new job before he has an anxiety attack (hence my desire for a cruise - ha). My DS starts middle school next year - very exciting and nerve wracking. He only has 2 1/2 more weeks of school and we're both counting the days. Seems crazy around here right now. We're going to Hilton Head DVC resort in July, so we're looking forwad to that, but what we're REALLY looking forward to is the cruise. Sigh. I'd better stop wishing my life away. November will be here before we know it.

Middle school is what I will be worring about for sure for my kids. I think now a days starting in middle school is like how High school used to be. Too much pressure on all the kids.

We stayed there about 5 years ago before we bought into DVC. We went with another family and had a wonderful time. They have lots of kids' activities throughout the day + a bonfire at night where they make smores and sing songs. It was really fun for the kids. The only downside is that the main complex isn't on the beach. They run a shuttle (or you can drive or ride bikes) to their beach complex which has a pool - right on the ocean. Its very nice, and I would definitely recommend it. Its a small complex, so its very hard to get a reservation during the summer. I called several weeks in a row at 9:00am sharp, and was still placed on a waiting list. Luckily, the waiting list came through rather quickly (we were pretty flexible and would take almost any week during the summer). I'm not looking forward to the drive (about 8 hours for us), but its pretty much a free vacation using points which will be a nice (and much needed) change!!

Sounds really nice! I also hate long car rides. It is odd when I was younger I loved heading out on the road but now-- Nop.

We just got back from NYC over the weekend. It's about a 7 hour drive. We have not bought our airplane tickets yet. It's about a 15 hour drive for us, so hopefully we will be able to get a Southwest ticket. It's not the drive to the port that will bother me, it's the 18 hours back from Fort Lauderdale over Thanksgiving weekend. Ugh.

Now I really want to spend Friday and Saturday before at WDW. There is a MVMCP on Friday night and I really want to ride the Toy Story ride.

We are flying in Nov.20th so we will be a WDW Thru,Fri and Sat before the cruise and of course after.
Have you been to MVMCP? I just wondered if it will still be really crowed? I just hate to spend amost $200 extra on tickets for that one day for a few hours and still be really crowed?
