11/22/08 Thanksgiving 2008 cruise thread. Double Dipping Travelling Turkeys!

Hey Judy, how about them Steelers the other night.
They looked pretty good, I was really surprised with Leftwich.

They are once again proving to be a team to watch out for! The Rooneys are in NYC today meeting with the Commissioner about the sale of the team. PRAY that Art and Dan R. retain a majority. The Rooneys have been the Steelers for 75 years and it just won't be the same without their ownership. I love my "Fast Willie" Parker! I don't know if you are aware but in Pittsburgh we don't say Steelers, it's pronounced Stillers. We talk funny here. Flip Flops are gummers, rubber bands are gumbands, "You guys" are yinz, "and that" is anat. Here's a sentence "Yinz goin' to Sliberty (East Liberty) to pump an Arn (drink Iron City Beer) and watch the Stillers anat?"

I just went to the Traveling Turkeys website and tried to log on to the message and am unable. Can anyone give me a hint as to password? I tried lexandme, the 8 digit number I was given when I registered for DIS meets, the password I use for almost everything. What am I doing wrong?

Steelers/Giants game is Sunday, Oct 26 at 4:15pm in Pgh. (Go Stillers!)
Your son should have a blast. Ther's nothing like watching the game in person. Such excitement!

Ok. My DH said they announced the line up for Dancing With The Stars. It's another one of my guilty pleasures. I have to check and see who will be on. I wish they would ask me! I'd give them a list of men I would like to see cut a rug!!

I hope you don't get too much rain. My step-father just forwarded me an email he got from his sister in Tallahassee. She and her two dogs had to be evacuated by air boat by the sheriff's dept on Sunday due to flooding in her neighborhood.

i cant even remember who played, but on our cruise 2 years ago they played Monday Night Football on the Dumbotron. Now that was AWESOME!

We're only going into Cozumel to do a little shopping in the morning and to show SIL what it's like. Which reminds me, we always go to the tourist trap right off the ship. Where is the real shopping at? We're on a jewelry and vanilla mission. I have to be back by lunch time since we have a spa appointment shortly afterwards. Must rest up for Pirate Night! I just got off of the DCL website and I hooked a ressie! On Monday too!!! I'm sooo excited I can't tell you! I've been trying since midnight Saturday and I guess my perserverence paid off!! I can't wait!

Just to catch you up to speed -
We are voting on date and time for our meet and greet on board. The choices are:
1. 3:00 on Sat prior to the boat drill and sail-a-way party
2. Sunday (AM or PM)
3.Monday (AM or PM)

Majority rules. The voting will end on Mon 9/2. Just post your choice on the thread and I will log in your vote.
I will also contact DCL after we have decided and get a room (and possibly refreshments if they will deliver) for the event!
We will also have a family grab bag at the meet and fish extender exchange during the trip.

Thanks for posting. It's kinda cool here in WV today. Kenzie went back to school today and so I'm doing laundry and working on FE gifts. I just ordered more supplies from ebay.

Anybody know what kind of weather we're to expect during the cruise. Will we still be in shorts. I'm thinking so, but just wondering. We really don't even want to take jackets to DC to meet the Amtrak. I'm thinking a sweatshirt maybe.

That is awesome! I needed that extra treat today, Thank You! I could stare at it all day!!! (Work has been especially stressful today. Can't wait for it to be over.) When I was zooming in, I saw your spot by the pool and the Konk Kooler they have waiting for you! Hurry before it gets warm.

You never know what kind of weather you're going to get in late November, at least in FL. Castaway Cay probably has pretty close to the same weather we have here. If there aren't any cold fronts, the high is usually in the high 70's/low 80's and the low is in the high 60's. Cozumel and Grand Cayman might be a tiny bit warmer.

I've heard 11 deaths from Gustav so far. Very sad. I hope it doesn't prove to be too destructive.

You know what's awesome about these boards, I feel like I know my way around already. While looking at the picture I could tell which was the CM pool, which was the adult pool, where the secret deck should be and so on. I feel like I have a head start on the location of everything (which will save time once we board).

Tracking Gustav. As of 5pm there have been 22 deaths (Haiti and Dominican Republic). Her winds have slowed but expected to increase next 24 hours. She's expected to hit the Caymans tomorrow. They're also monitoring 2 other areas in the Atlantic Basin for disturbances. I hope this is not an active season.
