Okay, I'll vote for Saturday before the sailaway party too. I'd like to make it as early as possible so I can unpack if possible. I'm weird like that:rotfl: --I like to have everything in its place so vacation can really start once the sailaway party starts. Am I weird, or do other people do that too?:goodvibes That's why I missed the DIS meet on my last cruise--I was busy unpacking!:confused3
Is it just we Kansans? I can't relax until I have emptied every suitcase and they are put away!

I"m the same exact way!!:laundy: Gotta get it all put away so I can relax and not worry about it! Plus I have to iron EVERYTHING!!!! So you will find me frequenting the laundry room!!

I must unpack and organize the room, too. Wrinkle release spray is my friend.

Ladies - I think that's called OCD (obsessive compulsive disorder) and I have a bit of it too. A place for everything and everything in it's place! I like to get things put away but I'll walk away from it if something more exciting pops up.

Stacie - Let me know if the cheesecake was any good. You should have seen the display. I wanted to die. These big huge cheesecakes in any flavor you wanted. I was drooling over the coconut chocolate. I'll eat anything coconut and I kept imagining it tasted like an Almond Joy! :stitch2:

Ken - I thought the 90 day began on the 24th which is Sunday, right? Then 12:01a.m. is the 24th, right? Has anyone ever made ressies at midnight before? Is there someone there to take these calls?

We have 10 requests for the meet before the sail a way party, 1 for Monday afternoon and one that doesn't have a preference as long as it's Sun or Mon.
What time is the party? About what time should I reserve a room if the majority votes for Sat? I don't remember what time anything was last cruise. Was the drill at 4 or something? It might be a good idea if I went to the Castaway Club website and looked at the Navigators for times. :confused3

Judy

Hey, guys! I just realized that I gave Stacie the wrong room number for the fish extender thing.:rolleyes1 We're actually in room 2108--not 2109. I don't know what I was thinking!;)

Seadooken--I'm glad you asked if it was Saturday night because I planned on staying up late on Sunday night. I think something is seriously wrong with me lately!:rotfl: It's not like this is the first time I have sailed DCL, and typically I'd be on top of these things. I think I just need a vacation.::yes::

Judy,

You have to book them online. I dont think anybody their will answer your calls. I used this site to come up with 12:01 Sunday morning (Saturday night). http://pscalculator.net/pscalc.php I hope I am right!

Ken

Wow. I think there's something seriously wrong with me too. (It's cheesecake deprivation.) Don't know why I thought someone had to answer the phone because I know you have to book online! :surfweb: When I went to the website and put excursions into my wish list it says we can begin to book ressies on 8/24/08 as well as complete our on line check in. So that is 12:01 Sunday morning or Saturday night after SNL has been on for a half hour (I don't know who is hosting this week but it's probably a repeat. Unless the Olympics are on. If the Olympics are on it blows my time system all to H---.) Anyway, your calculations have to be right.

If you go to Deb's there is a woman named Lori blogging the Magic's Panama Canal trip from LA to Port Canaveral. I think they're in day 4 or 5. She has posted pictures and one of them is a photo of Creme Brulee-all toasty and crunchy on top. It's killer.

I'm up early again tomorrow, have to take my Toyota Matrix in for a fix on a recall. Driver side window could explode! :scared1:

Has anyone gotten their room assignment? I'm waiting with baited breath to see where I'll be laying my head at night. I'm praying they'll put me forward. :worship:

Out of curiousity, I checked the site and they had a lot of categories open up. Wow, a ton of people must've cancelled in the past few months. It made consider downgrading and putting us in 2 different cabins. I hate to give up a balcony, but the idea of having a separate room for more privacy has me thinking.

Good Morning!
We were able to pick our room when we booked. We booked through AAA in October 07. There were not a lot of choices at the time and we wanted something more midship but we ended up on 7 aft. We're 2 doors down from the secret deck on 7. But I know the Mouse will come through and I'll be upgraded to a suite with a verandah!!! :lmao: :mickeyjum

I checked times for Sat:
4:00 is the mandatory life boat drill
4:30 is the sail-a-way party.
How does 3:00 sound for the meet? That should give everyone time to get unpacked, change or make additional ressies, get a few boat drinks :drinking1 in hand and mingle. Please - if anyone has any suggestions or ideas let me know. I know we still have time to vote and change our minds but it's already 10 to 1 with 1 undecided and it really looks like we're leaning to Sat before sail-a-way.

Judy

If you pick your room, are they likely to upgrade you to a different room? I'm also on deck 7, I think toward the front of the ship. I guess I better go pick out all my excursions for booking tonight at midnight.

I see everyones counters show less than 3 months to go! When we booked our cruise is when we made our room selection.

Yippee!! Another month out of the way.:cool1: I have been thinking of this day for some time. I am up early just in excitement of knowing we are now at that wonderful point to book some fun stuff.
My plan for the day. Clean house, go with DD to tour hospital and register for the birth of my grandson, go to dinner and show to see Le Reve with best friend and fellow DCL traveler, rush back to her house get on home computer and lap top and book together.:dance3: I love the idea of being on the west cost for earlier time to book:rolleyes1 Being up at 6am and staying up past midnight wouldn't have been much fun.:sad2: But I am able to last until 11.:lmao:
Happy day!!:flower3:

We haven't gotten our room assignment yet either. I'm praying they will NOT put us forward. DS and I are prone to motion sickness. We went on a deep sea fishing trip this summer and we both got REALLY sick. It has me rethinking the Tulum Ruins excursion. I would love to see the ruins, but it says there's a 45 minute boat ride and then an hour + bus ride to get there.

I can't believe the 90 day mark is here!!!!

What do you guys take for sea sickness? Last cruise was really, really calm (DH says it wasn't but it was!). :boat: We were midship and this trip aft. Hoping for calm seas for him. I love the motion of the ship and would have liked it to have been even rockier! I love take off and landing when flying too. But you will never ever see me on a roller coaster. That's just crazy!

Off to get car repaired. pirate: :car:
Will check back later.
Judy

my advice for people going to cozumel is to go to chankanaab national park. dont do the shore excursion. you can take a taxi there for $15. you can watch people swim with dolphins, plus you can snorkle there and walk the trails and see all the huge lizards in the park. It really is a very nice park.

Sandy - I'd say let's switch if you get forward and I get aft, but that'll depend on your category. We have 5 in our group so we had to book the Cat 4.

All you Cat 4 people - if you don't want forward I'll take it! :thumbsup2

I though mid-ship was noisy, but it didn't bother DH at all. Go figure.

I got my bookings done already. We did the romance package and were paid in full. I'd offer to help but I'm going to be snoozing at midnight tonight. I will fall asleep unless I'm engaged in some activity like dancing and socializing. Sitting watching the clock and watching the tube is a sure fire way to zonk me out.

I'm looking into either the patch or Scopace tablets, so I have to make doctor's appointments for DS and myself. I LOVE roller coasters, but boats and Teacups ;) make me really sick.

:rotfl: I'd love to switch cabins with you, we have a cat. 9.

I woke up at 3 a.m. last night and panicked because I thought I had forgotten to set my alarm to make my ressies.:lmao: Well, once I woke up and then realized I hadn't missed my opportunity, I couldn't stop thinking about what I was going to book, so I didn't get much sleep last night. I hope I can make it until 11:00 tonight!:)

Hello all, we just returned from our weeks vacation at the NJ shore. Looking forward to this evening and make our ressies. I can't believe it's time already, where does the time go.

I would say 3 or 3:30 would be a good time for the DIS Meet.
