Sandy,

Where in SE florida do you live? We are just north of Tampa, and other than a few quick showers and a little more breeze than normal, its been very quite over here. Knock on wood though. The path when it comes back across the state is just north of us.
We live in Stuart, Martin Co. It's an hour and a half south of Port Canaveral and about half an hour north of West Palm Beach. We were on the bad side of the storm. My in-laws lost power last night and still don't have it back. They're in St. Lucie Co, just north of us.

I watched some of the hurricane coverage on the Today show this morning. Hope you continue to stay safe.

Our cruise has been charged, and I'm ready to make ressies this weekend!! As long as I pass my next Doctor's appointment we're cruising in 93 days, 22 hours, and 26 minutes.

Does anyone want to take over making the arrangements for the DIS meet onboard? I'll give you the contact info for the person I talked to at DCL.

When are we able to register the kids and do the online check-in? This is the first time we've cruised since they've offered this. I'm not really sure how to book the excursions either. I'm registered on DisneyCruise.com, but for some reason the rest of my (extended) family is dragging their feet and don't think it's a big deal.

Fay update: It's pouring here again. :headache: :headache: :headache:

Its my understanding that everything starts 90 days out for CC members. THe only thing I usually worry about that early is the Palo resies. The other stuff is pretty easy to get into.

We still have been lucky with the weather. Fay is supposed to track just north of us tommorow, so we'll have to wait and see.

We're lucky down here too. I had a light sprinkle today and some nice wind. I actually sat outside today enjoying the cooler air.

I'm looking forward to making my reservations this weekend.

What would have to be done to make arrangements? Is it very time consuming?

Is Fay ready to leave yet? Hasn't she worn out her welcome? :sad2: Some women just don't know when to call it quits, it's over!!! :headache: Get outta here!!!:scared: :scared:

Not time consuming, once you know the time and day, e-mail the lady at DCL, when you hear back from her, post it on the thread to let everyone know where it's going to be and I'll post it on the website and PM everyone that's on my list.

Ok. I can do that!
Everyone --- When do we want to do this thing? Please post the day and time you prefer. I will collect days and times and majority will rule.
I know we have discussed:
1. Saturday before sail-away party
2. Sunday(Castaway Cay)
3. Monday (Day at Sea)

Please indicate day and morning, afternoon or evening preference.

Let me know by Monday evening - 9/2. That should give everyone a little over 1 week to contact DCL and finalize ressies. Since they will all be posted on the thread we can all play along and you can count the totals with me.You can make sure I don't cheat. :dance3:
After we have a time and day I will contact DCL and request a place and food - (whatever they will give us!)
I'll get us started with my preference: Monday - Afternoon

If I forgot anything, please let me know.

I will try to make what I can, but my DH isn't so responsive to meeting people from the internet. Unless it's for his sports teams. The only time I know I can't do is right when we get on the ship. I need that time to try to get moved to an early dining time (2 year olds generally don't do well at late times) and get any extra Flounder's time I can. I barely made it to the castoff party last cruise. I know I wouldn't make anything else.

Shay - I recorded you as either Sunday or Monday (no specified time) but definately not Saturday. If anything changes just post your change and I will record it.

Judy,

You are brave for taking this over! My vote is for before the sail away party. Without knowing what the shipboard activities are the next two days, I would hate to get "double booked".

The winds are starting to pick up. It looks like Fay will slide just to the north of us. They are not predicting much wind, but a LOT of rain. As long as it does not affect my internet connection to book ressies Saturday night, I'll get over it.

I heard about this site on the podcast. I have not even looked at it, but is sounds appropriate for a cruise: http://www.onebag.com/

I have recorded your vote. You bring up a very good point.... I forgot about the onboard activities schedule. I was so tuned in to CC on Sun and not wanting to miss dolphin spotting on Sat I never considered what would be happening on board. Hmmmmmm. :confused3
Here's another stupid hurricaine question for ya... If you get a lot of rain do you get gators and snakes? (I know you're thinking "crazy northerner!") Snakes would freak me right out!!! :scared1: :scared1: :scared1:

I don't see any more gators or snakes than usual. It's been a couple years since I saw a gator in our neighborhood. We have two lakes (aka big ponds) with underground access to a very large canal. I know there are TONS of gators living in the canal, but we hardly ever see them. DS says he sees snakes in our backyard occasionally. Snakes freak me out too. Gators are cool, if they're not big and far enough away.

Just read that the Wonder sails today however the port has been changed to Port Everglades in Ft. Lauderdale due to Fay. :boat:

Wish I was there!

Whenever I see a snake I scream and run like a girl!!! I won't even look at them in the zoo. I'm sure Freud would have a good time analyzing me!

My vote would be for Saturday before sail away.

I am all for Saturday before the sailaway....after that it's vacation time with no major plans!

There’s this one particular harbor, sheltered from the wind, where the children play on the shores each day, and all are safe with in…

No more than usual. I only see gators when I go to lakes or golf courses. I rarely see snakes, even when DH hasn't mowed the lawn in a long time. :rolleyes1 The ones I have seen are the harmless garden variety that keep mice and other rodents out of my house. So I don't mind them.

Your questions are similar to the ones I asked last Winter to the people talking about ice damming.
